Back again with another theory, this one being kept more short!
I believe that Red Shade is a previous victim of the Virtual Boy. Why I think so is that when Jimmy (the presumed person Icey refers to him as) describes the fact that the thing had two lumps in place for its eyes. We see that from the Virtual Boy, it causes to do things as described by Jimmy, however, the previous victim, or Red Shade, wasn't able to recover, the victim suffered. They weren't able to save themselves, they became lost to the blindness. They lost all sight of color, and eyesight in general, and is now a part of the V.B, which explains the fact that Red Shade shows up behind Jimmy when he turns away from the V.B.
I also think that Red shade is trying to warn him of what will happen as it seems like Red Shade had no intention of hurting him. It just spoke and then vanished. It would be quite a strange thing to do to talk and then leave right afterwards if Red Shade had disliked Jimmy. Red Shade wanted to warn him, and in the end, Jimmy turned out to be mostly fine as he is recovering, but to think of what Red Shade is, what happened to it, or what it might be, is truly disturbing.
You know when I said I was gonna keep this short? Ya, I was wrong. Still, thanks for reading my theory. If any of you wants to add-on to this or wants to make another theory, be my guest. We never know what Icey might do with this.

Very interesting creepypasta. It had a few flaws and the monster in the story felt a bit forced with his short presence but it was decent and the monster's garbled speech actually freaked me out upon my first watch of this. Though, I am curious. What is Red Shade actually saying?

i think I know what happened: he plays the game console for too long and it starts overheating and the smoke gets in his eyes and he doesn't realize it. then he loses track of time so he up but when he gets up he hears a breathing noise which is probably the console overheating then he thanks that its all a dream so he closes hes eyes. after about 2 minutes he opens his eyes and he realized that this is no dream. so he looks behind and sees the red shade and the red shade is something in his eye or a hooloseination. then he starts to lose the ability to see certain colors. then he realizes that he needs to call 911 now. as he goes down the hall he has to inch his self to the wall he can only see black and red. when he gets to his bedroom he picks up his phone but then he starts losing starts losing all of his vison. then he calls 911. than he tells the person that he woke up and was almost blind then he tells them where he lives. when he wakes up hes in the hospital.

Wow, amazing CreepyPasta! I actually can't believe people still make quality ones in 2018, but I remember really being into them back in my elementary school years. I also like the fact that you chose to make this CreepyPasta off of the virtual-boy, since not many get to experience the console, but those who do can understand this video much better. My brother found a virtual boy that got thrown out about a month or two ago, and although he sold it now, he did let me use it for a while. Like you said, I heard that the Wario game was the best one, but we sadly only found Mario Tennis with it. Still though, for the good 10 minutes I played it was pretty neat experiencing retro "VR." Anyways, with my tale out of the way, I subscribed, and I hope to hear other great stories soon!
