  • Simeon Simms, Amor Wilson, Djai Starr, Phil Samba, and Cartell Lowe-Vidal have had to deal with their fair share of racism, and homophobia, growing up black as well as growing up gay - racism that has been committed by members of the gay community.
'Do you think being a black man, makes it harder being gay?'
Their unfiltered experiences are here for your eyes and ears only. From the last time they cried to racial fetishes, nothing is off-topic. This is panel: Black and Queer

USA here. My first LTR was with a black man. The amount of racism we faced, a lot of the time, came from the black community. A lot of the prejudice against us being a queer couple came from the white community. This was back in the late 90s - 2005 in the deep south. I don't know how it is now since I moved more north, but people were awful to us then. Tires slashed, spray paint on our vehicles & home, people who knew we were a couple and would see us out would just stare and laugh. Humans need to do better.

'Where you really from?' lol. I can't believe it still happens today. People telling others to go back to their countries, after they stole our ancestors and shipped them off. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

Serious question, the guy with the (I think they're called) Bantu Knots, where is he from? I had the most difficult time understanding him. Is his accent due to what part of London he's from? I was almost leaning on my speaker trying to understand what he was saying, lolol. Maybe it's because he speaks so fast, I don't know, lol. But I enjoyed this. I'm 3 years late but I enjoyed it. All the way from crazy America.

How is it weird to be able to apply race filters in dating apps? Some people, like myself, aren't into caucasians for example at all. White skin doesn't do anything for me and it's most definitely not by choice. It's just the way it is. So, I'm glad that some of the apps offer these filters because it saves me a lot of time not having to sift through all the people im not into! And in my opinion there's nothing racist about it either. It's a matter of preference. Calling me a racist because I apply racial filters is like calling someone a racist who loves to eat apples, but doesnt like pears! In other words, there's a massive difference between preference and racism!!!
