After catching the southbound MetroRail train at Rutland Drive, I carried on north to Gracy Farms Lane as I really needed to get a better video there. After about five minutes, a northbound CapMetro MetroRail train came flying through, being the usual Stadler DMU.
Since my last video here (and fairly recently at the time of recording), this crossing received a complete LED retrofit to the Safetran incandescent lights. Both cantilevers now contain entirely GE Uniform LED lights, while the exit gates retain their original Miller LEDs. It's still a real shame that both Safetran mechanical bells kicked the bucket years back, but I am truly glad to have filmed them. If they had held on just a few more years, I can almost guarantee that they would still be here, as CapMetro has now begun to actively maintain the few remaining mechanical bells on MetroRail trackage.

Great video! Certainly one of the most iconic crossings of your channel. A shame the RACO bells have since been replaced.
Awesome shot of the metrorail austin
Thank you!
No problem
Nice!
Nice video and catch
Thanks!
Great video and crossing! Its a big shame the Safetran mechanical bells were replaced here years ago, especially since you said that CapMetro is taking more care of their remaining mechanical bells on their system.
Thanks, yeah it is. I'm just glad the ones we have left are all going strong.
Nice video! Did you capture at an elevated height? I like the angle.
Nice video but sure was a short train
