After chasing the UP oil train from Hockley to Hempstead, I decided to check the signals on the BNSF Galveston Subdivision in Brenham to see if anything was coming. A high green was burning for a southbound, so I began waiting it out. After about half an hour, a southbound Q-CHIROB came through with an ES44DC and SD70ACe in the lead. Intermodal trains coming to and from the KCS at Robstown are now a memory, as BNSF has chosen to route them over the UP to Eagle Pass as of 2024.
This crossing is a very nice one, containing a classic pair of 1970s ATSF signals. These use early Safetran equipment and have remained fairly unchanged other than an LED retrofit and the original mechanical bell being replaced by a General Signals electronic bell well over a decade ago.

Good video and crossing! Shame the original mechanical bells were replaced a while back. Love how it still retains the old ATSF signals, albeit modernized.

Great video! Love those 70s ATSF signals, even if they're pretty well modernized by BNSF these days!
