This is my second week with f2f slowly getting over the learning curve of booking my own loads. I'm pulling one of their new van trailers and found me a little niche area to run. So far so good.
They are not too bad. I'm just running 500 miles roughly from home and back. Doing 2 rounds a week so about 2000 2100 a week home a time or two a week and weekends. My part after deductions is roughly 4kish.
if u looking for excellent oportunity plz let me know. we hiring owner operators. we promise upto 360k year nd we charge only 7 percent of grosss thnks,
My two negatives are no real fuel discount and trailer maintenance. To combat not having after hours I book myself a week out by using click n book so 2-3 rate cons at a time come in for signature during office hours or I’m not having to worry til next day office hours.
Yep. That fuel card doesn't make sense. Seems like it would be easy for them to get a card with better discounts. I do have my own card but I would rather try to keep everything consolidated. This week I booked 2 loads after hours and had no issues. I've been trying to check the approved carrier list but that thing is a mess.
Awesome to hear you are happy with F2F, I’ve been following you videos you have very good content and you sound very honest not like in some videos they don’t tell things the way they are. Keep up the good work and on the other hand I’m trying to make up my mine if I should finance a truck and start hauling for F2F I have the driving experience and had a lease truck ones but never owned a truck, what is your advice?
I have to agree with most of your Assessments. ONE BAD one, I don't think you mentioned..? Their UNREASONABLE, IRRATIONAL 46.6-MILE daily PC limit. As owner-ops, IT'S LITERALLY OUR business how far we go on PC. IF I'M DONE for the day and going home, especially EMPTY, don't tell me I'm not "allowed" more than 46.6 miles to drive PERSONAL CONVEYANCE miles. That's some control freak, tyrannical BS, no other way to see it, PERIOD. And the 20% is greedy for the little they do. Stealing 20% of the fuel surcharge is mafia/loan shark BS. Then there are the problems with the SAMSARA APP. Then there's the bull-headed arrogance/incompetence when trying to get them to correct an ELD error. Telling it like it is. A spade is a spade.
I left F2F because I think they should let you lease to purchase the trailer because you're in charge for all the maintenance of that trailer, or if they wanna charge you $220 a week that should include maintenance. Basically you're paying $880 a week for a slightly used trailer that never it's going to be yours. But, other than that is a GREAT COMPANY!
@@steadytrucker yeah, like Schneider though they take 35% that includes trailer fee and full maintenance of their equipment, you use their Operating Centers cross country, Shops, etc etc... After doing my numbers I went back to Schneider and I'm making the same as was making at F2F and don't have to be dealing with brokers and worrying about trailer maintenance and buying tires. I think trailer cost should be included in the 20% that F2F takes. Take care sir, keep up with the good videos! Be safe out there!
@@goat4802 I don't think you can go wrong with schneider or landstar. They are both good companies. Not many out there that give you any freedom to pick loads.
@@goat4802 do you have your own authority? I’m lost Schneider is not that great. I drive for Schneider as a O.O but there’s no percentage they don’t tell us fuel surcharge, what the ratecon is for a load, and their average rate for loads is $1.20 a mile (google), plus if you hold on to a mt trailer without clearance for 24hrs they charge you $150 a day until you drop that trailer off or get a load. And let’s be real their trailers are trash and most are rusted to hell with recaps on recaps for tires. Plus they’re extremely regional you can’t book a load from Ca to Tx for example I run the west coast and if I want to go south I have to book a load to Denver then dead head to Tx anytime you switch regions you have to dead head it’s the dumbest board I’ve ever seen 🙄
Well you don't actually get paid a fuel surcharge when your booking off load boards. Nothing is separated. You get what you get but it would be nice if f2f did the computation from the ratecon
Is freight by dry van at f2f worth it? Truck stop has average rate at 2.40. 20% brings that down to 1.92 plus trailer rental. Covenant pays 130 plus fuel surcharge .64.
I think that $2.40 a mile is misleading. It really depends on what area your in. You shouldn't have any trouble finding loads for $3 per mile or better for a van. The huge difference between F2F and covenant is the freedom. F2F you go where you want, when you want and haul what you want. You'll never have the opportunity for a $10,000 week at covenant.
I want too come to f2f bad but sfi said i need 5000 to 5500 to transfer n basically nothing to go to landstar..big company holding smaller company down .just bs
@@imSincerePromise I don't know much about them but I looked at their website. They look pretty much like most lease operator companies. They lease you a truck and then they dispatch you. Usually you have no say in where you go or for how long. You can get into a lease truck easily. Normally, at these companies, you can expect to run pretty hard. Usually get home once a month. Any more often and it's hard to save money.

F2f has a lease program. They don't advertise it but I was told that it's similar to schneider lease.
