Turn the sentence around and say a man "lets" his wife do such and such and wait and see the backlash you will get. When I hear some men talk about their marriage, some sound like they are in a prison dictated by what their woman lets them do. If a relationship is dictated by "lets" on either side then there is a problem. I'm not talking about doing things to disrespect your spouse, that's different.
