I remember the first time facing King Krool and little did I knew that there were fake credits. I freaked out in joy thinking I beaten him but as I turned around after the fake credits were gone, I realized the showdown wasn’t over when got back up on his feet and started jumping. That’s when I was like, “Oh snap! I still got to beat him!”
This is honestly one of my biggest complaints about DKC1, all the bosses are pathetically easy; except K. Rool. Compared to DKC2 and 3, where you are actually likely to lose a few lives, since each boss has a gimmick; the ones in this game are all insanely vulnerable. The GBA port fixed this by making all bosses have new gimmicks. Gnawty is a joke, and you can stunlock him easily and wear him down in seconds. (In the GBA port, he has Really Gnawty's attack pattern) Master Necky is even easier if you just keep jumping on him. He'll never get to even attack if you're fast enough. (In the GBA port, he has Master Necky Sr.'s invincible until he attacks gimmick). Queen B will literally walk RIGHT into your attacks (the GBA port actually buffed this boss by having her get a series of smaller Zingers to protect her). Really Gnawty is easy once you get his pattern down where every time he is hit, he'll jump right at you. Once you figure that out, it's just a matter of timing. (In the GBA port, when he jumped, he'd cause stalactites to fall from the ceiling). Dumb Drum is a joke boss, if you have DK and can kill the Army Dillos easily; the fight won't prove any challenge. And even with Diddy; the Army Dillos are literally the only tough part. (In the GBA port, you actually have to hit him with a TNT barrel to damage him, he doesn't just kill himself for you). Master Necky Sr. is the only real challenge of the bunch, because you can't hurt him until he attacks. (In the GBA port, they up the ante by making you fight both Master Necky, and Master Necky Sr at the same time). And King K. Rool; well being the final boss, he's a step up from the others. Not impossible; but at least his pattern develops as the fight goes on making him a bit more of a healthy challenge.
Remember army Dillo, in donkey Kong 64 he is larger, and with fire ball kannons, most of my friends say dk 64 is a really bad game , but I disagree, when I was younger it’s was the best, I was bad at the mad jack boss

Admittedly; the GBA port has it's own problems; mainly due to the bit crushed screen crunch and that the control feels a little wonky at times; but the bosses are one thing it improved for sure. Unlike the original game; where most of the bosses are easy as pie; the GBA one actually managed to claim several lives from me; just because the new attack patterns added something to learn and need to practice; other then just jumping on the boss until they die.
How the remaster made bosses better: Queen B - you have to kill a bee formation before attacking her Really gnawty - Fallon rocks and palette swap Dumb drum - you actually attack him Master necks sr - you fight alongside master necks jr

They are obviously mostly very simple, however playing this game on emulator is close to impossible if the controller has the slightest input lag (like the PS4 controller with special software). I notice this in many other games as well. Games are incredibly tightly timed, more than I had ever noticed before.

The bucket boss I always thought was the stoopidest boss in history.and it probualy is.

Well, its name is not SMART drum...
They are obviously mostly very simple, however playing this game on emulator is close to impossible if the controller has the slightest input lag (like the PS4 controller with special software). I notice this in many other games as well. Games are incredibly tightly timed, more than I had ever noticed before.
K. Rool is the greatest final boss of all time. Don't agree, fight me.

If only they still had the original 3D models that were compressed to fit the SNES cartridge... They could make a true HD version of this game.

The music and graphics were so beautiful! It's funny how Basically use the Mario brothers three engine for so many games. Mario three Mario world donkey Kong country donkey Kong country two donkey Kong country three and even a little bit of Yoshi's island is kind of like the Mario three engine
