  • Welcome to my home based airport, 4MI8 - Darrell's Landing, ~1800' of turf that launches and lands my Robertson STOL equipped C-150. This video chronicles a typical evening hop around a few eastern Michigan counties in my little bird, with some local airstrip fly by action, scenic views of US / Canada waterway, a full stall demonstration, and subtitled comments for added detail.

Seeing the beautiful Cessna golden yellow color scheme transported me back to 1969 when I took some of my first flying lessons at Mitchell Field in the Western burbs of Chicago in a similar 150. Thanks for the great quality video.

+C150hp150 This is a great first plane or someone taking flying lessons. Me and 2 friends are going to be looking at a 1972 Cessna 150L WITH 2002 avionics on it. The gentleman is asking $17,900 but says he is a very motivated to sell it. It has the log book and everything done to it since it was new. In the end I believe it is nice to know you own the plane once you get your license. We hope to move up to a 172 once we all get it.
I see a lot of these 150's for sale under $20,000. Wish us luck. We are all between 50-52 years old but I believe it is never to late to live out a dream.

Darrell, your video is a true tribute to what is great about RUclips. I so much enjoyed seeing your beautiful Cessna 150, one of the cleanest ever, and your beautiful home and airstrip are truly something to be treasured. I look forward to seeing more videos from you in the future, and what would be really nice, is some real-time narration thrown in from the cockpit. Perhaps you can rig an audio interface between your headset and Go Pro cameras. I've seen this done on other videos, and it appears quite simple an inexpensive, I feel it would add so much to what you are already bringing. I also would love to see a detailed video of the plane itself, maybe some great interior shots as well as a peek at the engine. I truly admire the setup you've been blessed with Darrell, and thanks again for the wonderful video, it is so much appreciated., Michael

+Michael Higgins Michael - Appreciate the kind words and feedback, and glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I am blessed and make note of that each new day. The bird is a creampuff, I'm the 4th caretaker of it since 2005, first flying from Wichita on 3/16/1966, it will mark its 49th year in a few more days. I have been thinking of a ground video showcasing it, will have to get on that. It is as well kept under cowl and inside as the exterior looks, and I expect it will remain flying long after I'm gone to meet those previous owners on the other side. Regards, Darrell

Hey Darrell what a nice ride, beautiful country side and well maintained air strips, if it wasn't for the fact of pulling the bird out of the hangar by the prop and not keeping the center line on taxiways and runways you would have had an Above Standard on my score card. Just little habits we can always correct on behalf of our airmanship. Thanks again Darell, really enjoyed it !

Shouldn't some of the views be from the cockpit? I personally like seeing the pilots view of the plane. Also, most people do not like the music, it takes away from hearing the awesome sounds of the engines. I guess music would only be OK (if it was barely heard) as very very low background noise, but most do not like it at all. Thanks for sharing your videos!
