  • Hey everyone. So I recently had my 2005 Toyota Highlander “maintenance required” light on. Usually that’s just an oil change but I’m gonna be doing a complete tune up by changing the oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. This is the first part of me just doing that but spark plugs will be on part 2. Hope this helps someone! And if it does, please help me by hitting the thumbs up and subscribing! Have a good one!

You can remove the oil filter by just reaching under when you open the hood. No need to remove that plastic cover.

Yea I know but when I take filter off if I leave cover, on it will get it full of oil,it spills everywhere.

Like your video, I just bought a 2004 Toyota highlander, just wondering why you don't use denso plugs?

Hi, I'm thinking about buying a Used 2005 Highlander wit 189,000 for $5,500 in Chicago area
I have watched Scotty Kilmer and The Car Care Nut's videos and they caution about the 2.4 Litre
Engine 2AZ-FE due to heat dissipation and having head bolts breaking= $3,500 repair. Have you experienced that?

Hi, yah sorry Dave I have not because I have the V6 3.3 litre engine. Something to consider though because those guys know what they’re talking about. I’ve had mine for over 10 years, it’s at 185,000 miles, and all I’ve had to do is regular maintenance and replace the timing belt. Aside from the ac issues, which they are known for, It’s a strong running car. Haven’t left me stranded anywhere. Hope it turns out good for you but I’d give it some more thought. Have a great day!
