That and it doesn't go straight to your destination, it goes in at least some form of order. Taking Harry straight where he had to go was more likely a case of the bus being close initially, and harry living close enough to London.
Did you ever consider that Hermione's time-turner, which was officially ministry-approved (no way), was given to Hermione by Dumbledore, so she'll take Ancient Runes, so at least one person close to Harry would be able to read the original version of Tales of Beedle the Bard 3 years later?
intriguing but i don’t know, Dumbledore has only figure out the Horcruxs a couple months prior at the end of Chamber when he was handed the Diary, and it wasn’t an immediate “omg this is a horcrux” admittedly. So i doubt he was planning his death, and Harry’s journey to find the Deathly Hallows that early on. Unless there is another reason he would want Hermione to know how to decipher the story of the brothers
@@andrewwolf4963 Dumbledore was well aware of the deathly hallows from the beginning. Seeing as he possessed the elder wand and it can be inferred that he gave Harry the cloak. Aswell as giving Harry the stone in his will.
it doesn't work on living things and yes I know in the fantastic beasts movie there's a scene that would prove this wrong but it's not the niffler newt is using the spell on it's the jewelry in the niffler's pocket. So we can still wonder why she wasn't in Ravenclaw.
The bubblehead charm. They were looking for something what can help Harry with breathing under water for TWO WEEKES in the library and they didn't find this? How it is possible if Fleur AND Cedric used it? Then it is pretty common spell. For my headcannon this is a reason why she isn't in Ravenclaw xD It looks like she can't using index in books. @@AurafyreGaming bruh no one from durmstrang used that spell, he half-transfigured into a shark. I think you mean Beauxbaton, but Big Ceddy from Hogwarts also used the spell
Alternate theory: it never actually teleports, it just looks that way from the perspective of people calling it. Its real ability is being able to slow down time while in transit. So it still has to travel like a normal vehicle (albeit still at very high speeds) and just hones in on a raised wand like a crude GPS signal like you'd expect, but might as well have teleported from an outsider's point of view because of how it warps the flow of time. Think of it like the Wizarding World equivalent to entering Hyperspace
That could also explain the things like barns and lightposts 'leaping' out of the way; Those things aren't actually moving, but the Knight Bus is warping space around it to avoid them without having to change course.
Honestly, I think that's this is more likely how it works, like I don't think they would try And figure a zowu into a bus that's seems like too much effort and unrealistic
Unrelated.. I've always wondered how did Fred and George find out how to make the Marauder's Map work. Can someone explain it to me if it's known information??
my personal canon is that they got peeves to tell them. Peeves would have seen the marauders use it, and since the twins stole it from filch its kinda fitting that they'd need something from peeves too.
I always assumed it was just passed down from trouble maker to trouble maker. Like one of the maurader’s gave it to somebody and showed them how it worked, and every few years it got passed down again until somebody gave it to the twins who then gave it to Harry.
Well if it helps, they did get one thing wrong, which kinda makes the theory less plausible. In the movie Harry holds out his wand to summon the bus, but in the books it says to "hold out your wand hand". Pretty much, hold out your dominant hand to summon the bus, not your wand itself.
I doubt it honestly, to me I'd say the main reason there is only one knightbus is because wizards view technology the same way muggles view magic, as this dangerous, volatile unknown that's completely alien and terrifying to them. Very, very few wizards have the balls to actually take up mechanical engineering to make magical tech, Arthur Weasley probably being the only wizard in England who could actually design and build magical technology. So that's why there are not more knight buses, such things terrify most wizards and very few wizards would even know how to build something like it. Shame too cause it's made clear from every time a piece of magical technology appears its vastly superior to its non technological counterparts. Even Arthurs back garage project car could do things regular brooms just couldn't do. But I actually quite like that subtle bit of storytelling, it shows just how not different wizards and muggles really are. They both fear what they don't know and would rather destroy something they don't know then try to understand it.
What if transfiguration actually just switches to things really fast instead of creating life and then one day when she changes her desk into a pig some farmer is like hey where’d my pig go and why is there a desk over there
I feel like a lot of elderly witches/wizards that do not feel confident enough to use Apparition would use the Knight Bus. Kinda like how old muggles use public transport instead of driving (they used to know how to, they're just a little scared to use it now). Also, squibs, homeless wizards/witches using it as somewhere to sleep (hence, toothbrushes available) and underage witches / wizards that need to travel without parents or magic (ie, muggle-borns who can't apparate with parents, or those that have been locked out coming home too late into the night LOL) ALSO: "HUGE ISLAND" hahahahaha the UK is tiny!!
Has anyone considered the fact that Stan should have recognized Harry in the 3rd book, considering that Stan is described as an 18 year old, so Stan should have been in his final year at Hogwarts somewhere in Harrys first 2 years?
@@AGayNamedRural Could be also we know that it is certainly possible for magic to alter the actual passage of time, presumably the lesser feat of modifying the perception of time is also possible. This could explain the discrepancy in perception for those on the bus perhaps the passage of time either is actually accelerated inside the bus or at least the perception of it. This would make the relative motion of everything outside the bus including the Earth itself appear far slower. It would make sense doing this too as the driver would need to be able to perceive the environment much faster as seeing a blur of the location the bus was in many miles ago would not help much if your goal is to park anywhere near the intended destination.
I had no idea how good the Harry Potter series was until about 2 weeks ago when I started the series. Now that I've finished it's honestly the best I've ever read. Then I got a supercarlin brother video suggestion in my feed and now I can't stop watching their videos. Honestly one of the best channels on RUclips. Funny and interesting. Thanks for everything J and Ben.
Another reason I always thought for the knight bus existing was that in order to apparate, you have to picture the place really clearly in your mind. If you haven’t been somewhere before, you might not be able to reliably picture it in your mind
Just watched and same. 😁 but something wierd. It said that the bus begin in 1865. The problem is that cars and bus were invented in the early 20h century and to have that look maybe even the 30s or 40s. So, did the bus had à different shape by then ? 🤔
they're upcharging like on an airplane or at a concert. although yes the wizard economy is highly unpredictable. as jay/ben have pointed out harry pays like 5 times as much for monoculars than the weasley family has in their vault in book 2
@@jpmoose2330 also don't forget that in the half blood prince we learn that the potions book harry bought is 8 galleons. after harry rips off the cover of one book and replaces it with the half blood prince's potion book and repairs it he says "best 8 galleons i've ever spent". And that is 8 times the amount of money they weasley's have in the vault in the first book of a single galleon and some change.
I love how they always save those punches for the end of the video too. Like, oh, you think this theory sounds far-fetched? Well, cats hate water, so there.
In Deathly Hallows when Bellatrix Lestrange summons Voldemort, Harry thinks to himself that 'when Voldemort gets close enough he will teleport'. I think perhaps being in another country all together may mean you can't apparate that great a distance without a portkey. So Voldemort has to fly part way before doing so.
The knight bus is a space-time magical item. Like a time turner. That's how it's able to service such a large area. There is only one because if there was a second they would crash into one another. The passengers experience things relative to non-passengers, hence the need for beds. Water may be linked to time, as in the flow of each are similar, all rivers flow to the ocean and merge, given enough time all things merge. Idk about that last part really. But the knight bus, I theorize, is a extra-dimensional object that full occupies that dimension, and leaves no room for another to exist along side it.
Thing is, the Knight Bus would have started off as being a animal drawn omnibus. Regular horses would not have worked too well for drawing it and offering quick transportation, and neither would most other magical creatures, even thestrals. So it makes sense that the animal originally harnessed to the bus would have been a zouwu, something that was large, strong, and incredibly fast. Maybe when engines started to become more common thirty years after the Knight Bus was begun, they just transfigured the zouwu into the engine of the vehicle, and it's been popping about ever since.
I've always assumed that the Knight Bus sorts of Teleports as it drives, kinda like its bending the space around it and jumping around everywhere, which makes sense because they have to pick people up from everywhere. So they just teleport to pick the people up, then start teleport jumping across the country to get them to the place all the while just zooming around. That would explain why they run into so many stuff because they are teleporting to random places. Maybe it saves gas/magic power if they don't teleport all at once and just take short trips instead? Still super excited for this video though, I would like to see what you guys think it is
I just love how he calls it the Kuh-night Bus. I even read the title in the same way😂 And the energy he put on that "Heyyy, Brother!" in the beginning just made me want to watch this video even more

I had a though ages ago that "jump out the way" sound more like the bus isnt phyysically travelling the streets. Just that looking out the window you can See where you would be on the real world. I always imagined that the bus travels the same way as Flu travel but was intended for wizards who could not access the flu network for some reason. Hence when travelling the bus dissapears into the network then re-appears when it stops. @SuperCarlinBros
On the Voldemort flight issue. I was a rereading Deathly Hallows recently and I think the reason why he has to fly is because you can’t apparate inside of Numengard (which kinda makes sense, right?) so while he flies I think he says something like he’s close to where he can disapparate. It’s definitely not made clear in the text, but I think of the plot holes in HP, this is not one of them. Now, one thing that’s bothered me for a long time. Blast-ended screwt scales reflect magic right? Sure would be a shame if someone thought to make armor out of them...
LOVE this, buuuuuut: Who’s gonna take on the challenge of actually harvesting the scales??? Would YOU volunteer for that?! I mean I guess you could wait until one died, but who knows how long their lifespan could be? And what if their scales are SO tough that they can’t be magically or physically manipulated into armor? *Dragon’s hide* has been used in clothing, but skin and scales are hardly the same.
@@Nikkielu15 They all keep killing each other lol, that’s why by the end of the fourth book, there’s only one left to put in the labyrinth. But yeah, I’m sure they could come up with something to put the scales together.
We understand that apparition is tricky, uncomfortable, and potentially disastrous magic, which must be regulated. Portkeys are also difficult magic (to create), so most witches and wizards rely on ones that are already in existence. Also, they must be registered. The floo network is also regulated and monitored. Brooms are expensive and uncomfortable for long journeys. I think we underestimate the number of witches and wizards who are kind of mediocre at magic. We just get so used to seeing amazing witches and wizards that we assume that everyone has the same skill level as Harry, Hermione, Voldemort, Dumbledore, or Newt. Why do they need a Knight Bus? Because there's lots of places you could go that aren't part of the Floo Network, because not everyone has the skill to apparate (especially long distances), because some people can't afford a broomstick or are going too far to be feasible, because underage witches and wizards can't apparate period, etc. And why only one for all of Great Britain? Because the wizarding world isn't as populous as the Muggle world. One is probably sufficient to service the number of people in the area. Think of how many buses are needed per capita for your local school district... When most people use other forms of transportation and this is serving a niche group, it would make sense that they *do* need one, but one is enough. But yes, the toothbrushes and hot water bottles are weird. ;)
When he said "Ka-night bus" instead of Knightbus, he was only one letter away from addressing me directly through out the video Now I'm feeling a letter away from happy, like "hapy"
Oh, come on! Harry Poter is set in the UK and you're asking why wizards there have a magical bus that has no business being there or working apart from "just because we can"? The Brits get like this on regular basis.
It only needs 18 beds, because almost all wizards apparate. The bus is just for the couple who hate apparition so much they're willing to settle for whatever chaos ensues.
While the knight bus being a transfigured magical creature is interesting. I don't know that the Zouwu is a good starting point because as you stated, the Zouwu teleports. The knight bus does not, it is just obscenely fast. if it did teleport then it would not need barns and lampposts to jump out of it's way. Continuing with the transfiguration line of thinking, and to why it has not been recreated, we would take a deeper look into your example of professor McGonagall and Animagi. While a sucessful animagus transformation could lead others to seeing it as a cool thing to easily duplicate... the process would dissuade most everyone else. hence why we see so few animagi in the series. The process takes a minimum of roughly 6 weeks (for one month carry a Mandrake leaf in your mouth (and if you swallow or spit it out then you have to start over), Then place said saliva soaked leaf in a crystal Vial and add a teaspoon of dew from a place where neither Human feet nor sunlight have touched for another 7 days, and then hide it away in someplace quiet and dark while waiting for a storm. (being generous we'll say that takes at least a week and for that week) you have to do the tongue twister incantation every sunrise and sunset every day until your storm. then you still have to face your internal beast when your storm arrrives, assuming everything as gone well so far (which you don't get to choose but is theorized to be the same animal as your patronus). failed animagus transformations are also a things, with humans stuck in half animal transformations which can't be undone by magical means. It's just a permanent disfigurement if you fail. So all in all, it's a bad comparison because it's a living being transforming into another living being. straight transformation of a human into an animal actually causes that witch or wizard to be stuck in that form until another witch or wizard transfigures them back. Another Benefit of the Animagus transformation is that with practice you don't even need magic to activate it. hence why Sirius could transform without his wand. But the knight bus can't transform back and forth, plus (at least in the movies) it is very mechanically heavy and I think it is comparable to the Weasley's car from Chamber of Secrets. Arthur is a pureblood wizard and thus he doesn't have much muggle knowledge, but if a muggle born Wizard made an attempt to enchant the Knight bus with muggle based understanding of vehicles then such enchantments to protect normalcy would be much more understandable. All the same, let's look at other magical creatures in the harry potter Universe. I would submit the simple moke. A lizard with the ability to shrink at will. While it may not seem all that great in terms of speed or physical ability, but it's magical property of shrinking without compromising it's internal contents. Which we see the Knight bus shrink, curve, and bend while only moving the items inside through momentum, but not changing their location inside. Just as a moke skin purse would be able to shrink without pushing out it's contents.
On the cats hate water note, I'd like to bring up video recorded instances of multiple large cat species not just hunting in water, but playing in it. Tbf, it's really the only hole I can think of, all else makes sense.
I jusg had a realization- we never see voldemort aparate, is it maybe because in order to aparate you need to move your entire body and sould to the new location, which he cant do since he has horcruxes which are stationary objects that cant be aparated with, i feel like that would explain a lot
Another point i missed- although harry says that he will soon be close enough to aparate, we never see him do it, in the min8stry he is just disolving from smoke into human, wh8ch is how his flying is depicted and described in the books and movies, yes i know the movies arent entirely accurate, also he may be able tp apparate but it could be very hard or painful for him do to his mind/soul being so broken and scattered, remember the aparation teacher says that you must have full mental focus, hard to focus when your soul is in 8 different peices and part is in 2 living things and your mind is always elsewhere dont you think
Dalto Smithman I don’t think you understand how souls work in Harry Potter. The soul is more of a representation of how “human” someone is. In other words, how caring/compassionate someone is. It’s not something that affects magic (other than Horcruxes).
yes! I thought you guys might've thought of taking a break from harry potter for a bit when you started posting Disney videos, but now you've made my day!
Everytime I hear you question why Voldemort couldn't apparate I get confused, because he definitely could apparate. I've just read Deathly Hallows and it says this: ""Good!" she leered. "Draco, pick them up! The Dark Lord is coming, Harry Potter! Your death approaches!" Harry knew it; his scar was bursting with the pain of it, and he could feel Voldemort flying through the sky from far away, over a dark and stormy sea, and soon he would be close enough to Apparate to them, and Harry could see no way out." So he could apparate, it's just that he was too far away to do so. I believe he was interrogating Grindelwald at this time so was abroad. You can't apparate to another country.
I think you can apparate anywhere you want, you just need to focus on that place, but you are right, it's dangerous to apparate over long distances. That's why you have portkeys. And also, isn't it cooler to fly than just apparate? Even if it'll take little longer.
I always thought it was to transport homeless witches and wizards and if they can't find their place they can stay (as cane bane would say) for the right price
I hope this gets seen! But I looked it up, and cars were not invented until 1886, and Pottermore says the Knight Bus was made in 1865. Which means the Knight Bus was the first car EVER!! Making it purely a wizard invention. Maybe a muggle accidentally saw it one day, and that’s how we got cars! (In theory of course)
At some point when Voldemort was flying over the ocean, Harry “knew that soon, he would be close enough to apparate”. I think it was when Nagini called him to Godrics hollow. I assumed there were limitations on the distance you could apparate, which is why flying came in handy?
In Dutch trains there are people walking through the train, selling hot drinks, chargers and snacks. No toothbrushes (teethbrushi) though, as far as I know.
Not only in Dutch, but I think it is common in various forms in the larger central europe (not geographic, that has a center in Estonia) but in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Austria, Galicia had it, Benelux, some areas in the East and South:Italy, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Spain and Turkey or North:Scandinavia. Thought probably not now, and maybe just on longer traces and not everywhere. In tha Prague public transport is hard to buy even a ticket. Last times I got nothing ever across some countries, it was more common in the past. Trajects do it usually even for short way, but busses when travelling hours, no. Some countries offer in situ on each stop foods, drinks and it was sold commonly also straight to train. I can talk more about times 20-30 years+ ago.
I think since his animagus form is a rat, and it’s just a form of himself he wouldn’t be a magical beast. Also scabbers isn’t magical bc he’s peter in a different form and he doesn’t have powers as a rat.
The knight bus is pretty genious. Think about it, we muggles travel from a to b then sleep in a hotel. Why not combine both ? The knight bus is both transport and hotel room.
My question is if the Knight Bus was an aduptation of muggle technology, why was it commissioned 19 years before the first automobile even existed? They have had horse drawn double decker buses since 1828 but the first engine powered double decker wasn't until 1920.. just another inconsistency with the Knight Bus. Also love your videos! Keep them up!
The Knight Bus magic does seem to be at least partially replicated by the Aurors on protective duty in PoA: "They reached King’s Cross with twenty minutes to spare; the Ministry drivers found them trolleys, unloaded their trunks, touched their hats in salute to Mr. Weasley, and drove away, somehow managing to jump to the head of an unmoving line at the traffic lights.”
You know that a SCB theory is good when J is so passionate that he rants about it for several minutes without even looking at the camera. He's just so invested in it! It's kinda cute.
As for why there's just one, my theory isn't that they don't know where to find more, it's that it'd be more trouble than it's worth. Magic can lose effectiveness over time, as shown by the Headless Hats as well as any invisibility cloak not belonging to Harry. I imagine that keeping such a large beast transformed would require constant resetting of its enchantments, which would make any extra Knight Buses a liability (especially when one has proven sufficient).
The ministry cars that bring Harry and the Weasley's from the Leaky Cauldron to King's Cross also had a way of squeezing through traffic. There's a passage that says something about how they "somehow made their way to the front of a line of stopped traffic" or something to that effect.
They're still living by 1800's mentality in a LOT of ways, so yeah, they don't really think about such things. But it comes down to the typical wizarding pride. They have magic, so why make it better. Meanwhile, the muggles are outstripping them even without magic as the years go by.
@@GordieKat If you think about it, wizards are already behind. Muggles have phones, the internet, guns, cars and many other luxuries. The wizards aren't quickly adapting to those technologies. They even still use quills instead of pens. At the moment, it's only potion and long distance transportation making where wizards are still in the lead, but that could quickly change.
I figured the knight bus was the Wizarding World's form of a temporary homeless shelter. It is after all for the "stranded wizard or witch". Thus, it has beds. it only needs 18 because the wizard is expected to pick themselves up, get a job or build a shelter on their own at some point. And we mustn't forget, not all magic folk are equally powerful; some are VERY low level power and end up working low level jobs (ie, the cleaning lady, the waiter, the bus conductor, etc.).
I am not sure if Lupin sees them, but i can imagine Snape does. That might be the reason why he is quite sure that Harry has something to do with Sirius absence.
This actually made me realise something about potions. If ingredients are rare, why not just cast Geminio (the doubling charm) on them? That way, you can have as much of the ingredient as you like
hey---so i always figured there were beds at night, like when harry got on the bus. i believe there are regular seats during the day, thus holding more wizards and perhaps holding to a set schedule...serving the whole country side. at night...less ppl, and so they can answer when the right hand gets stuck out, and only need so many beds. AND i bet they could magic another bed, should another passenger board.
This is true. He rides it twice - once at night with the beds and toothbrush options, the other during the day with the Weasleys and regular seats, without the option for a toothbrush.
They surely didn't have quite the powers that the Knight Bus had. It just appeared to Harry that they quickly moved to the head of a queue of traffic. The Knight Bus on the other hand was capable of jumping hundreds of miles. Also in the books the Knight Bus was never squeezing between traffic, objects would just move out of its way.
Okay I really think, "Oh, flubberworms," should be a curse word in the HP series, just like "Sweet Merlin". I mean it makes perfect sense, considering that flubberworms are only useful in potions. I died laughing.
As far as modes of transportation many wizards can’t aperate or choose not to. It is mentioned in the books that brooms are slower but safer. Now underaged wizards aren’t exactly supposed to use brooms in the muggle world so I believe that the biggest use for it would be for young witches and wizards who don’t live in large settlements of magically gifted people or the poorer older folks that are unable to buy a broom or money for flu powder and don’t know how to or wish to use apparition

She took Ancient Runes without the time turner though.
intriguing but i don’t know, Dumbledore has only figure out the Horcruxs a couple months prior at the end of Chamber when he was handed the Diary, and it wasn’t an immediate “omg this is a horcrux” admittedly.

And we all wondered why Hermione wasn’t in Ravenclaw...
it doesn't work on living things and yes I know in the fantastic beasts movie there's a scene that would prove this wrong but it's not the niffler newt is using the spell on it's the jewelry in the niffler's pocket.
Or I belive that Ron found this spell, said something like "Oh! Bubblehead! Do you think it could be helpful?" and he was immediately shut down by Hermione, that not.
@@Kirara01234 I always thought the bubblehead charm was difficult to master and Harry didn't have enough time to figure it out

General Butterscotch you are correct. But it doesn’t make for a long enough video, and da Carlin Bros. needs to make da moneys... 😂👍🏼
@@mrdean3 I like the canon that it's really just a flexible cat speeding around lol
That could also explain the things like barns and lightposts 'leaping' out of the way; Those things aren't actually moving, but the Knight Bus is warping space around it to avoid them without having to change course.
mrdean3 no he’s probably not
Honestly, I think that's this is more likely how it works, like I don't think they would try And figure a zowu into a bus that's seems like too much effort and unrealistic
Unrelated.. I've always wondered how did Fred and George find out how to make the Marauder's Map work. Can someone explain it to me if it's known information??
I would like to think that they wrote with the marauders map version of the marauders and they taught them how to use the map. but idk
I've always wondered if Scabbers noticed they had the parchment and somehow helped them figure it out.
my personal canon is that they got peeves to tell them. Peeves would have seen the marauders use it, and since the twins stole it from filch its kinda fitting that they'd need something from peeves too.
It's likely as troublemaker to troublemaker the marauders would help as the only time an outsider tried it, it was snivelly who they hated
I always assumed it was just passed down from trouble maker to trouble maker. Like one of the maurader’s gave it to somebody and showed them how it worked, and every few years it got passed down again until somebody gave it to the twins who then gave it to Harry.
It actually seems kinda sad that the knight bus could “possibly” be a transfigured magical creature that is also quite rare. 😢
That really doesn't make sense mathematically classy.

I feel like a lot of elderly witches/wizards that do not feel confident enough to use Apparition would use the Knight Bus. Kinda like how old muggles use public transport instead of driving (they used to know how to, they're just a little scared to use it now). Also, squibs, homeless wizards/witches using it as somewhere to sleep (hence, toothbrushes available) and underage witches / wizards that need to travel without parents or magic (ie, muggle-borns who can't apparate with parents, or those that have been locked out coming home too late into the night LOL)

Has anyone considered the fact that Stan should have recognized Harry in the 3rd book, considering that Stan is described as an 18 year old, so Stan should have been in his final year at Hogwarts somewhere in Harrys first 2 years?
Great point
He might have dropped out after his owls
Or may not of gone to hogwarts
Most 7th years are 17 so he probably just left. Although I thought he was 21 at the time
RghRider just checked the book, it says “18 or 19 at most”, so by that logic he was 17 in Harrys first year, so would have been in his final year.
“It doesn’t not always does”.... my brain could not process this!
How about this for the teleportation issue: The Knight Bus _always_ teleports, it's just that it is experienced as driving by the people on it.
I was thinking inverse: the bus ALWAYS drives, but when you're outside of it, it moves so fast it looks like it teleports

J: "Now we don't have time to unpack all of that"
Another reason I always thought for the knight bus existing was that in order to apparate, you have to picture the place really clearly in your mind. If you haven’t been somewhere before, you might not be able to reliably picture it in your mind
This is headcanon now.
I really like this idea on its own, but this is getting really close to the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro that makes me love it even more.

He could apparatus in a chain across the landscape, but I suppose the more you do it, the chance of splintching exponentially increases
That would explain why it's literally impossible to crash it.
That's somehow even darker than this video's theory
I've always assumed that the Knight Bus sorts of Teleports as it drives, kinda like its bending the space around it and jumping around everywhere, which makes sense because they have to pick people up from everywhere. So they just teleport to pick the people up, then start teleport jumping across the country to get them to the place all the while just zooming around. That would explain why they run into so many stuff because they are teleporting to random places. Maybe it saves gas/magic power if they don't teleport all at once and just take short trips instead? Still super excited for this video though, I would like to see what you guys think it is
But if it does short hops then there wouldn't have been that gag with the old lady crossing the street

Ohhh that makes a lot of sense!
Well the blast ended screwts were still really recently bred so it would take some time to develop that armour
LOVE this, buuuuuut: Who’s gonna take on the challenge of actually harvesting the scales??? Would YOU volunteer for that?! I mean I guess you could wait until one died, but who knows how long their lifespan could be?
But yes, the toothbrushes and hot water bottles are weird. ;)
Gotta love the editor here.

The fact he keeps pronouncing the "k" in knight is so triggering.

I jusg had a realization- we never see voldemort aparate, is it maybe because in order to aparate you need to move your entire body and sould to the new location, which he cant do since he has horcruxes which are stationary objects that cant be aparated with, i feel like that would explain a lot
Dalto Smithman
That would explain why he might have needed to learn to fly. Because I don’t think the knight bus would welcome him very much.
Except we do see him apparate, both into and out from the ministry of magic in OotP.
@@MrSurabane the exacf definition isnt him aparating its him absolving into form from smoke, which is how his flying is discribed

Nah,They'll Never Take A Potter Break: A HUGE Chunk Of Their Content Is Harry Potter.XD
Everytime I hear you question why Voldemort couldn't apparate I get confused, because he definitely could apparate. I've just read Deathly Hallows and it says this:
""Good!" she leered. "Draco, pick them up! The Dark Lord is coming, Harry Potter! Your death approaches!"
Harry knew it; his scar was bursting with the pain of it, and he could feel Voldemort flying through the sky from far away, over a dark and stormy sea, and soon he would be close enough to Apparate to them, and Harry could see no way out."
So he could apparate, it's just that he was too far away to do so.
@@filipvondracek it's definitely colder
Ik zou ook geen tandenborstel kopen in ons ov!
They can't sell the toothbrushes because they need them to wipe the snow off the tracks. That's why it always takes so long
Not only in Dutch, but I think it is common in various forms in the larger central europe (not geographic, that has a center in Estonia) but in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Austria, Galicia had it, Benelux, some areas in the East and South:Italy, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Spain and Turkey or North:Scandinavia.

The knight bus is pretty genious. Think about it, we muggles travel from a to b then sleep in a hotel. Why not combine both ? The knight bus is both transport and hotel room.

"They reached King’s Cross with twenty minutes to spare; the Ministry drivers found them trolleys, unloaded their trunks, touched their hats in salute to Mr. Weasley, and drove away, somehow managing to jump to the head of an unmoving line at the traffic lights.”
The "and then it hit me" transfiguration joke literally made me laugh out loud. Give your editor a raise
You know that a SCB theory is good when J is so passionate that he rants about it for several minutes without even looking at the camera. He's just so invested in it! It's kinda cute.
Its not very good tho tbh...
I appreciate that you use the correct pronunciation of k-night.
Wow, last time I was this early they were filming in the same basement and hiding it
haha whoa! that is a long time ago!
Fun fact: My patronus is a Salmon, watch out dementors
Dementors flee in utter horror as my ethereal dragonfly chases them down
Mine Is A Brown Bear.>:3
@@rangedweevil6150 is your patronus actually a dragon fly?
Mine is a dragon
Mine is a bear, I’m also a hufflepuff
I mean, I feel like efficiency isn’t a huge concern for wizards.
Really though!😆
They're still living by 1800's mentality in a LOT of ways, so yeah, they don't really think about such things. But it comes down to the typical wizarding pride. They have magic, so why make it better. Meanwhile, the muggles are outstripping them even without magic as the years go by.
@@robertgronewold3326 Muggles are in no way anywhere near achieving what wizards can do. But that might change in a few centuries.
Oh my friggin god you guys. The night bus is like the Cat bus from My Neighborhood Totoro. My mind is blown
The knight bus has to reach 88 miles an hour before it can teleport 😂
Doesn't even need a flux capacitor or plutonium
Well I suppose magic is as magic does
ha i got that reference
Not related... but did Lupin see future Harry and Hermione on the Marauders when he went to the shrieking shack in the third book?
I am not sure if Lupin sees them, but i can imagine Snape does. That might be the reason why he is quite sure that Harry has something to do with Sirius absence.
Have an amazing day everyone
Thanks you just got a new subscriber!
U to bro
Triple Threat, I love your channel and I subbed
Thanks!
Thanks
This actually made me realise something about potions. If ingredients are rare, why not just cast Geminio (the doubling charm) on them? That way, you can have as much of the ingredient as you like
If you think about it, the Knight Bus would make for a GREAT ride in Universal
"cats hate water"
my Bengal: am I a joke to you?
hey---so i always figured there were beds at night, like when harry got on the bus.
i believe there are regular seats during the day, thus holding more wizards and perhaps holding to a set schedule...serving the whole country side.
at night...less ppl, and so they can answer when the right hand gets stuck out, and only need so many beds. AND i bet they could magic another bed, should another passenger board.
Pretty sure harry mentions this exact thing when he rides it a second time.
This is true. He rides it twice - once at night with the beds and toothbrush options, the other during the day with the Weasleys and regular seats, without the option for a toothbrush.
Minister cars also had this tech when they were ushering Harry around.
Yes I was just wondering about them. How did they work then?
They surely didn't have quite the powers that the Knight Bus had. It just appeared to Harry that they quickly moved to the head of a queue of traffic. The Knight Bus on the other hand was capable of jumping hundreds of miles. Also in the books the Knight Bus was never squeezing between traffic, objects would just move out of its way.
@@joeh9468 I got the impression they had the exact same powers, but just used them more professionally
Killing me with the K-Night bus. 😂
Okay I really think, "Oh, flubberworms," should be a curse word in the HP series, just like "Sweet Merlin". I mean it makes perfect sense, considering that flubberworms are only useful in potions. I died laughing.
THEORY: the Knight Bus is the Polar Express
c'mon a dancing and singing and hot chocolate drinking Tom Hanks SO belongs on the Knight Bus
No
“It can teleport, but, as we’ve already established, it does not always does”
I’m sorry, I just had to see that line written out
J: Hot chocolate on a bus sounds nice...
Me: Thinks in Polar Express *(HOH WE GOT ITTTTTTTTTT)*
As far as modes of transportation many wizards can’t aperate or choose not to. It is mentioned in the books that brooms are slower but safer. Now underaged wizards aren’t exactly supposed to use brooms in the muggle world so I believe that the biggest use for it would be for young witches and wizards who don’t live in large settlements of magically gifted people or the poorer older folks that are unable to buy a broom or money for flu powder and don’t know how to or wish to use apparition
