This is something that the real storm chasers get so infuriated about. When you want to chase a storm, that's fine - but don't be such a dick that you put everyone's life at stake. And Storm Chasing was on the map LONG before the stupid movie. I hope you get the chance to check out Pecos Hank's work, and give him credit for that one shot of the two tornadoes!

Twister came out when I was in high school in 1996, but I knew about storm chasers years before that movie. PBS and Discovery channel had plenty of videos about them. It’s inaccurate to say that movie started it all.

im in London so sadly i relly on severestudio online to chase from my ipad, Kelley was my fav. streamer, nicest guy, would always reply to my messages, i found out via the Bbc i couldnt believe it, still not 100% sure what happened from what i can gather they went through stop sign, car was coming other way, very sad

Twister got me into Meteorology and I love tornadoes and that is why I am an NWS Skywarn Spotter I am planning to get a Degree in Computer Science degree after I graduated from Gateway Technical College so I can program a new weather radar software and I might get a second Bachelors degree in Meteorology/ Atmospheric Science.
Speaking as an amateur, I've been interested in severe weather for more than a decade and I've seen funnel clouds and a few Tornadoes. Luckily in my area of the US there isn't any chasers because my area only typically see's less than 5 or so tornadic storms per season. Now for Tornado alley, this is a major problem - not only because scientists need the data, but also to pass on warnings to the public and seconds matter, especially on fast moving storm systems.
Honestly, it is only a matter of time before there is a major tragic event with chaser convergence, especially on true on dirt roads which during a squall become all but mud-pits.
I used to go out with my 2002 v8 tape video camera during hurricanes in Florida and hold an MTV Karaoke Microphone and act like I was a storm chaser. I'd hold an umbrella against the wind so it would flip inside out. Then, after a few more scenes like reporting back to my sister at her desk with a hand drawn forecast of Florida, id write on a piece of paper my fake news channel letters and numbers like "wtmm13" and hold it in front of the lens and play jazz music like it was the end credits. I was 8. Times were different back then. But I bet if I dug out those tapes and uploaded them on RUclips I'd be featured in a "cringe compilation". 🤣🤣🤣

A true storm chaser is a person that has a storm chasing / company name, a actual camera, vehicle with orange safety lights on it, computer and broadcasting it on their page or on the news.

There was a tornado headed where I live may 1st 2018 actually , and changed course at the last second thank goodness, but this exact same thing happened around where I live because storm chasers we're all fleeing towards the first tornado of the season this year, causing a big traffic jam, it's ridiculous.

I've always wondered if a jet could fly through the path of tornado as it's forming at near mach, and then time the sonic boom to happen right as it flies through, would it have any effect on anything?
No. The sonic boom does not happen only once. There is a conic shape behind the jet where the noise is. So, if you magically teleported in front of a jet right after it passed you and you heard the sonic boom, you would hear it again.
Thinking of that you can make a miniture Tonado and as the jet use a Paper Airplane thrown at extreme speeds (30 mph) effect:
Plane flies through but struggles with minor turbulences
and no the Sonic Boom wouldnt change anything
You could potentially damage the updraft the forming tornado is feeding off of, but the storm is so big it'll be fine within a few minutes.
Lucifer Morningstar tornadoes are pretty small so I doubt they would, however there are planes that fly/have flown into hurricanes to collect data here's a couple, the USAFR 53d WRS, NOAA Hurricane Hunters.

The 3 killed in the el reno 2013 plus 1 extra are the only chasers to die to the tornado ever since they started mapping out these storms, every other chaser death was due to wreckless driving

The more accurate statement would be due to slick roads, hail, and obstacles that fell in their path.
The simple act of driving is always the highest risk. Chasing storms or not, the risk factors are always high.
At 0:35 that was El Reno/Moore Tornado 2013 Friday May 31.

I am sorry I don't give full credit to that title. As someone who has been through a few of these storms, i have also seen swarms of these chasers also cause traffic jams.

They actually put out a very inaccurate statement. They took Bluesteins comments out of their context. He expressed annoyance at the way they edited his interview to suggest it was the chasers rather than bad reporting by the media and breathless and ultimately stupid advice for people to evacuate the area.

i know theres nothing you can do about banning chasing but the people that dont at least have skywarn training need to stay the hell out of the way. at least 20 or so miles from the rotation to give professionals and emergency management room to work. you cant make it law but people need to use common sense. i have skywarn training for photography but if theres a tornado on the ground im getting far back one so im out of the way and two so i can get an epic shot of the whole storm with a tornado at the base
If I am trying to get home or to safety and these storm chasers block my way, they better have insurance because I will literally shove their vehicle in the ditch if these impede the road in an emergency like this.

Ridiculous. People have been storm chasing for well over 30 years. How much more data and information is needed? The idea that they need this information to better predict tornadoes is a bunch of BS. If they haven't found it by now, they never will. Seems to me the most important thing for a chaser is getting those videos, which provide entertainment, but does little to help the public.
