Just a suggestion. Maybe use the 2 drums closest to each rather than using the 2 drums furthest apart?

I can't figure out why he has the 2 lower drums pitched to the exact same note? I am a timpanist myself and have played this piece and it only requires 2 drums.

Yes:
32”: G, 29”: G, 26”: D. I perceive that executing it like this the sound of harmonics and vibration is fuller
