One-time viewer here. This popped up in my recommends, and because I've wanted to start a RUclips channel for a few years, I clicked. I like to try lots of things and didn't think I could pick one thing to make my channel about, and stay consistent with. I know you probably didn't intend this video to be this way, but I found this encouraging to not worry about optimizing and just do it for the fun of it. Thanks.

You may never see this comment. But I have used your playlists to relieve my anxiety for many years. I watch the slower embroidery ones with no talking because I struggle with voices. I get lost watching you stitch it totally resets my mind. So that's why I had to say thank you. Talking videos do sound great. I hate shorts. But I am grateful for the stitching quiet videos. This is the first time watching you talk, and I'm glad I did. You are amazing, and please continue to do what you want to. I'd be interested to see other crafts too.

as a serial subscriber, this honestly made me rethink whose subscribe buttons i hit, when, and why. i always figured hitting the subscribe button was a win-win, but it isn't necessarily if i'm not actually _watching_ those creators even semi-regularly. i didn't even consider how, for creators, having x number of subs who only saw one of your videos is actually not beneficial. im definitely going to be more cognizant about actually WATCHING the creators i sub to, and not subbing if i dont expect to watch their regular content.

Invisible Audience here! There is hardly anyone that I follow regularly. I'm more of a sampler, unless I'm working on a specific project. I'm audhd, so I hyperfixate but what I'm focused on changes all the time. Plus my energy levels vary so much, so even if I'm hyperfixating on something, I may stop just because I run out of energy for it that week/month/year. I love this behind the scenes take, thank you! It's important for us to understand how our attention (our value in social media) is being used by the platform and how that impact the creators we're enjoying.

Invisible not because I don’t enjoy all the variety of your content, but because I don’t watch RUclips very often. I sew. I quilt. I love dogs. We are nearly done renovating our 35+ yr old home. I’m a beginner knitter. I’ve been looking at hand embroidery stuff. Basically, a lot of what you do resonates with me. And now you call yourself an introvert who likes to monologue! I describe myself as a socially averse introvert. I have lots to say but hate saying it in public. Keep doing what you want to do. I’ll try to tune in more often. ❤

So excited to see a video of you on an off day! I am a Core Subscriber. Found a video, then binged ALL your videos and now I wait impatiently every Friday for a new one. You DO NOT talk too much. It's one of your most enduring qualities (of which there are many) and I would assume that the majority of your CORE loves both your personality and your talking. I love hearing about everything! And I love the diversity - baking, decorating, moving, organizing, house tours, fabric hauls, embroidery, and yes Sewing. I love every single dang one of them. I've noticed many creators starting "side" channels for content that doesn't match the brand, but that they want to do and that's fine. I believe a good majority of your CORE will automatically follow you there. I like the Podcast idea but with the corresponding channel as I would prefer to "see" you. And please, please, please don't give a F**k about the nasty comments. I heard it said you know you've made it when you finally get "hate". Take it as a positive and that your channel is growing. Some people have no self-control and it only reflects on them - not you! WE LOVE YOU! Big Hugs

I watch RUclips for entertainment. Long form content is my main focus, and I love making and story type videos. They are an underrated genre. They give a glimpse into the mind or process of the maker. Those glimpses are what keep me returning to their channel for all their other videos. I also enjoy the fact that I can keep making while I'm watching them. I watched this entire video while cleaning and filling my fountain pens.

I'm a content creator who just happened to watch this because the algorithm sent me here, and I really appreciate both how you openly discuss the challenges of RUclips as a platform and the internal work that's required for putting out things in the first place. It's a little crazy how doing the things that make us happy also comes with significant risks to mental health when the internet gets involved.
To any core audience members reading this: getting positive feedback, especially in the form of comments, is what keeps content creators sane. I know many probably think their input doesn't weigh much, but it really does.

I'm here because of the STUNNING blue and whit split skirt short. I'll be honest, I didn't look into your longer vids from that though. I liked it and I think liking it meant your other shorts got presented to me and I started to recognize you and THEN checked out your longer vids and subscribed.
The "niche down to blow up" thing is something someone like Rachel Maksy appears to have worked hard to get herself out of. Her early stuff was primarily costume based but now she does all sorts of home reno stuff, and making her "little guys", with the occasional costume thing thrown in.
Amanda Golka (Swell Entertainment) has several vids where she discusses how she strongly disagrees with niching down.

I subscribe to those channels I want to see again - I have my feed set up to only see my faves. I'm an old woman, mother to sons and grandma to grandsons, so not a lot of female companionship in RL. Up until about 10 years ago, I dabbled in most crafts out there, but age, eyes and arthritis have limited me mostly to reading about crafting. I first found you when you had the video about how to find cheap fabric! I really enjoyed your video, your sweet quirky happy style, and that is why I came back. Found out you were also smart and fearless, and you make me smile 😊

    Oh God this was relatable.
The tutorial thing really hit home. I honestly like teaching my craft - in person. I have never been one to gatekeep knowledge or tools. But I got so, so annoyed when any speedpaint short video I posted was met with comments such as "Where is the tutorial?", "You did not explain how you did it, pointless video", etc. Like they were entitled to the knowledge, or like any person who posts about a craft has to do it to teach it for free. Cooking channels get it tenfold, with people asking for recepies even if their channel openly promotes a restaurant or service.
But mostly, I relate to wanting to explore new crafts, and IG and short videos won't even allow you to variate on the theme, nevermind technique or craft. It is so, so restrictive.

I don't have time to sit and watch, 99% off my YT watching happens in the kitchen while I'm washing dishes or preparing food. I tend to read during my sitting down-not working- moments.

This is also me. I’m one of the steadies, but think of myself as one of the cores. I found you through YT-recommendations in your early days, one of the embroidery tutorials. I was a bit stumped at your first talking video, wondering if it was the same channel (I think I saw two channels with the same name and logo for a while), but it was the talking and tangents and your personality that made me subscribe. Once I subscribed I binged your whole backlog. I’m bad at consistency in anything, so I jump between bingeing different channels, which means I haven’t watched the last four or five of your videos yet, but I will eventually. I love to hear about your childhood and upbringing and self analysis! Please keep doing you!

I love talking, but never do because, like you, I never wanted to "inflict" myself on others. We do a lot to cope with bad situations, and unlearning those coping methods is difficult. And yes, I hate how the RUclips algorithms pigeonhole everyone. People like more than one thing. And I've tried other video sharing platforms but they have their own issues, biggest of which is that people aren't encouraged to post there when they aren't paid there. I miss old youtube, but those days are gone. (Also, I randomly came across your content for sewing and you pop up in my algorithms now and then because I like sewing. I love the conversational style. You and this video just kept me company while I did my dishes and cleaned my kitchen. It's like having a friend over ❤
I appreciate you and thank you for putting yourself out there.

It’s rare for creators to talk about the business side of RUclips so kudos to you. Shorts drive traffic but most of it is low quality sadly.

I found you last year when I picked up embroidery after years of not doing it. You walked me through a stitch I had not known how to do. I subscribed immediately. I binged all I could during recovery from a major surgery. Your sewing journey has made me want to get my sewing machine out and give it a try again.

I'm always impressed with how you can just talk to the camera all your thoughts. Recoding myself makes me think about talking and suddenly I can't think about anything else and all my bottled up thoughts die.

I'm a newish subscriber, I didn't find you through shorts, I do watch a lot of creative sewing channels and you popped up on my feed. I enjoyed the content, checked out your channel, started watching more of your other sewing content. I am now hooked on your personality, you inspire with humour and you make it seem like anything is possible, if you give it a go. I like how your brain works, I love the winging it attitude. I will be here as long as you are. I am sincerely happy that I found your channel. Thank you for all you do.

I found you through your trip to England to take the RSN embroidery course video and am so glad! Thoroughly entertaining and love everything I’ve watched so far - quite a lot! Loved your road trips and hope you do some more of those. Seriously, just keep doing what you do, it all works for me. Very interesting to hear the facts about RUclips.

I love the idea of a second channel for your stitching and stories!! Just watched a few of your videos while doing my own hand sewing (yes I also watched the hand sewn dress and want to now make my own as I adore the detail in how you attached the bodice and skirt) and it really does feel like I get to sit down and sew with a friend!! Thank you for being you and sharing a part of your thoughts today! :)

As someone who is sitting here, playing this video while stitching a border on a crocheted pouch, keep doing you. A lot of times I just want to listen and there aren't a lot of podcasts out there that can hold my attention so RUclips has become a huge part of my crafting time.

I'm giving you a standing ovation in my head.
As a small channel that finds looking at analytics the worst, I appreciate you being so candid about it.

I stumbled across your channel as part of my exploration of all things sewing and love your content. I love how you show the journey of whatever project you’re tackling including all randomness, chaos, success, problem solving and puppy…the realness of making a thing, any thing. Thank you ❤

I recently (a few months ago???) found your content and have quickly jumped into core audience mode specifically because I love your monologuing. In between your new stuff I catch up on videos you posted before I found you. I don't know if there's any point to this besides encouragement, but I will say: as much as I love the crafting (and I do!), you have and can post about a craft you're doing that I have zero interest in and I'll still watch because the way you do the monologuing adds joy to my life. Or something besides a craft too, you get the idea lol. So thank you for that

Love how you matched the colours of your cross-stitch/embroidery and your top. I watch anything sewing-related and I love your personality on RUclips - informational, entertaining, real.

      Right!?
I was like: "This embroidery is definitely not _my_ taste, but it seems to exactly match _her_ favourite colour combinations. Good for her!" 😁

I feel called out. Here I am, the girlie that goes back and binges all the content when I meet a new creator I like to craft with, lol. Thanks for the video!

I found you from the short. After I watched it found myself trying to go back and watch your videos from the past few years. I especially like watching you wing it with patterns, pockets (I love pockets), and your projects in general. I used to sew everything for a long time, I put it away for about 15 years. Your videos inspired me to pull out my machine and return to creativity.
