Lol that age truth stings! Its hit me a few times recently when you think about the 25 years old becomes classic rock thing... And im of the 80s myself
The chief antagonist, Yulian, is played by Aleksey Serebryakov who is a genuine Russian (I hope Dasha appreciates that). He technically does speak English, but his English is like high school German, so he had to learn his English dialog phonetically. I think he did a great job as Hutch's main adversary.
3:05 I love it when he asks his daughter "You scared?" and she says "Why would I be? You're here." She so sweet and cute, and she's the only one who still respects him.
This is one of my favorite movies, and it didnt get nearly as much love as it should have because it released during the pandemic. Glad to see it get a little love and appreciation :)
18:24 Dasha is such a nice person. She wouldn't take the money because it's dirty money, but she would donate the other assets to charity like a children's hospital. No wonder people adore her on RUclips. She's so cute and funny and good hearted.
One of my new favorite movies of all time. Thanks for the proper translation on some of the slang. You made it that much better to watch your reaction.
The tape or wrap around the hand is to help keep from breaking the bones in your hand while punching. Boxers and mma fighters have their hands taped under their gloves and the gloves are also to protect the hands. Great reaction.
This movie is simply amazing. You translating russian will never not be my favorite part. Sorry That youtube is giving you a hard time with copyright making you cut it so short. It was still very enjoyable 🎉
Oh, so the girl at the club was singing about an accountant? That's funny, because Nobody said his job was being an auditor. And auditors basically are accountants, or at least they have the same training. So a fun little thing in the movie I didn't notice. 🙂
17:08 Sergey Vladimirovich Shnurov also known as Shnur. He's the frontman of the band Leningrad. He plays the older gangster trying to kill the old man. My brother is a fan of him.
The first time I saw popular Russian actress Darya Charusha (credited in "Nobody" as Dasha Naishuller), who plays Beta, the woman who digs up the redacted background info on Hitch and flees without even getting any payment for doing the research, was in the 2005 Russian/Chinese co-production mini series Based on the WW2 novel "А зори здесь тихие" ("A zori zdes tikhie"/"Dawns Here Are Quiet"}. This was a famous and very popular novel that taught the traditional Russian values of courage and sacrifice for the greater good and got adapted to the movie or TV screen at least three times. I wonder if Dasha ever heard of the novel or movie when she was growing up in Russia. I actual saw a clip of the mini series on RUclips and had to order a DVD all the way from Kazakhstan to see the whole series.
Dasha, the reason why he wrapped the seat belt on his hand is because he could use it to catch the bladed part of the other guy’s knife without damaging his hand. A pair of martial arts experts broke down that fight scene. It was ingenious.
Hutch's tattoo, an off-suit 2 & 7 playing cards, is the worst possible hand in Texas Hold-'em Poker. When Pops raises the remote control to lower the volume on his TV, he has the same tattoo on his wrist. The Barber was wearing cuff links with off-suit 3 & 8 playing cards..
The director is Russian. All of the Russian characters are played by actors who are native Russian speakers (except the black guy). The director also did "Hardcore Henry" (2015)
I like when movies have actors who speak Russian for Dasha to grade them. Did she notice that the grandfather was the same actor who played Doc Brown in the "Back to the Future" movies (among other movies)?
The Russian is good in this movie because the director Ilya Naishuller is Russian and some of the actors in the cast too, including Aleksey Serebryakov, who plays Yulian.
Derek Kolstad wrote this and john Wick 1, 2 and 3, both is set to same universe, gold should have same markings. Is just are they ready to cast real Russia speaker or go with some token Russian sounding that is always used.
I wasn't wild abour the BACK TO THE FUTURE franchise, but i've been a Christopher Lloyd fan since ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST. I liked him a lot in the TAXI tv series. He popped up in THE ADAMS FAMILY movies as well. He does off-beat nicely. This was enjoyable, Dasha - you're a pleasure.
you are one of my all time fav reactors on youtube, and the fact your from russia living in canada is great im from canada but probably a thousand km from you, i never knew what anyone in russian was saying, but you sharing and telling us was great. and ive heard... and i think they have a part 2 of this film in the works.. i mean why wouldn't they, its soo good!!!!
Seeing your joy when you heard the Russian language was so sweet,a great reaction to an underrated movie and looking forward to seeing more from you. ❤
This film wasnt a hit when it was released. I think Covid had a lot to do with that. It has found a lot of fans on streaming and on DVD. I enjoyed it and I hope there's a NOBODY 2 coming soon. Great reaction!
Wow what a great movie! If Dasha is enjoying it... I'm enjoying it! Dasha was so excited to hear the Russian language and that means alot!❤ I luv Bob Odenkirk as this character! Thanks for sharing Dasha ❤️💛
I am not surprised to see how happy you are with the Russian language in this movie. What slightly amazes me is your family already with the criminal song. If there was a slang word meaning the same as общак in my language, and I was watching the movie with subtitles (or the criminals were speaking my language) I'd have no idea what it meant before it got explained in the movie. And the fact that you can place the slang in a given decade is even more impressive to me. And I am a linguist.. 😀🧡👍
You asked why he wrapped his hand with the webbing of the seat belt. If no one has offered an explanation, here is the reason. He expected someone to attack him with a knife. He planned to catch the knife with his hand which was protected by the seat belt and then steam the guy with his own knife. The knife wouldn't be able to cut through the webbing of he does it correctly, which he did. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I'm grateful. ❤
Through this movie one adage kept being repeated through the main character and his assassin family; Simply put"don't judge a book by it's cover." Good reaction as usual Dasha, and your exuberant response to your native language was very enjoyable.
This was an adorable reaction! You were obviously enthused about the Russian aspect of this and that's why I watched it. You didn't disappoint. Great Reaction!!! Dasvidaniya!
Some people ask why Hutch doesn't put the garbage out the night before, but lots of my neighbors avoid putting their garbage out until morning because people often root through the garbage receptacles and leave a mess on the sidewalk that the sanitation worker won't pick up when they make their rounds through the neighborhood.
Something special for the lady: "Eastern Promises" (2007) and "K-19: The Widowmaker" (2002) *True Story* "The Accountant" (2016) "The Peacemaker" (1997) "Jack Reacher" (2012) "Gorky Park" (1983)
I remember watching it and comparing the locations to where I grew up, not realizing until the credits that it *_was_* where I grew up. The iconic bus fight was filmed outside the college while I was enrolled there. The glowing *MTS* sign on the building is in one shot. The _”Does it have a basement?”_ line confused me since literally every house in Winnipeg has a basement.
Thanks Dasha for watching this one! I look forward to your translations of Russian. Do watch more with Odenkirk, Better Calll Saul, and of course, Breaking Bad!
Interesting how Dasha hasn't heard the name Yulian before. As an Englishman, that name sounded reasonably authentic. It's really cool getting the opinion of someone who lived in that area and knows what's accurate or not. I have to say, it was kind of funny watching Dasha get a bit annoyed at the pronunciation of Ivan Drago's name in Rocky 4 - it's Ih-vaaahn, not Eye-van!
The black guy in the barber's chair is not American, he's criminally-underrated British actor Colin Salmon. This guy was everywhere in UK TV but never really got recognition. He's done bit-parts in loads of films, possibly most memorably getting cubed by lasers in the first Resident Evil movie.
When you wrap your hand, you make it more stable, you support the metacarpal bones, the long ones, and can hammer fist or do normal fist more solid. It's like what the boxers do when they wrap their hands with bandages under the gloves.
I had a stroke last month, and I'm struggling desperately to walk again because I need to be able to work to pay my living expenses, so Hutch's humdrum, repetitious life before the burglary does seem like ab enviable dream life to me. It's a matter of perspective.
This is one of my favorite movies. It's so underrated that most people never even heard of it. I try not to give much away but I guess everyone just thinks it's a John Wick rip off. I kind of hope they never make a sequel. I am sure it could be fun but there would be no surprise as we see what is going on with the main character and his life. It would just be another action comedy.
The playing card tattoo, from a military unit that gets the worst jobs, ie dealt the worst hand possible, if you ever see these two cards, you should fold immediately, because you are most likely never going to win. In Tarot readings, the Spade/Sword is linked to bad luck, death, and violence, while Diamonds/Coins are linked to money. Translation: This man dealt in death and violence for money.
Hey Dasha, Shout out from your favorite US Marine! O man this Such a great movie, but I can't get behind this one Dasha! This review is way to short for such an epic movie! the film instantly went into my Top 10 of films. The soundtrack is awesome too.
This is the best action movie released in the last 20+ years.

I was hoping you would watch this movie, I am glad you translated to let me know how good the Russian actors were.
Thank you Dasha. Love your reactions.
