The chief antagonist, Yulian, is played by Aleksey Serebryakov who is a genuine Russian (I hope Dasha appreciates that). He technically does speak English, but his English is like high school German, so he had to learn his English dialog phonetically. I think he did a great job as Hutch's main adversary.

The first time I saw popular Russian actress Darya Charusha (credited in "Nobody" as Dasha Naishuller), who plays Beta, the woman who digs up the redacted background info on Hitch and flees without even getting any payment for doing the research, was in the 2005 Russian/Chinese co-production mini series Based on the WW2 novel "А зори здесь тихие" ("A zori zdes tikhie"/"Dawns Here Are Quiet"}. This was a famous and very popular novel that taught the traditional Russian values of courage and sacrifice for the greater good and got adapted to the movie or TV screen at least three times. I wonder if Dasha ever heard of the novel or movie when she was growing up in Russia. I actual saw a clip of the mini series on RUclips and had to order a DVD all the way from Kazakhstan to see the whole series.

I am not surprised to see how happy you are with the Russian language in this movie. What slightly amazes me is your family already with the criminal song. If there was a slang word meaning the same as общак in my language, and I was watching the movie with subtitles (or the criminals were speaking my language) I'd have no idea what it meant before it got explained in the movie. And the fact that you can place the slang in a given decade is even more impressive to me. And I am a linguist.. 😀🧡👍

Dasha, the reason why he wrapped the seat belt on his hand is because he could use it to catch the bladed part of the other guy’s knife without damaging his hand. A pair of martial arts experts broke down that fight scene. It was ingenious.

  • @davidely7032

You asked why he wrapped his hand with the webbing of the seat belt. If no one has offered an explanation, here is the reason. He expected someone to attack him with a knife. He planned to catch the knife with his hand which was protected by the seat belt and then steam the guy with his own knife. The knife wouldn't be able to cut through the webbing of he does it correctly, which he did. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I'm grateful. ❤

If improperly stored, if the people who have access to the gun are not trained and responsible, having a gun in the house can be a dangerous situation.

@CarlHungus and what about my statement disputes those facts?
Banning guns will never make us safer. Education, familiarization, and accountability will.
As to registration, those in power have a benefit from allowing us to have vehicles. They need us to keep using fuel, living far from where we work and aspiring to a better vehicle. So, registration of vehicles does not naturally lead to confiscating.
There are multiple scenarios one can imagine, and that history has shown can and have led oppressive regimes to confiscate firearms from their citizens.

Bob Odenkirk is 58 in this movie. 58! Bro has put in the gym time. I don't look that good 15 years his junior (to be fair I have early-onset arthritis, but still). He's funny too, as anyone who watched Better Call Saul can tell you.

It's a terrific movie, but it was a bit of a surprise that that's Christopher Lloyd as his dad, not Abe Vigoda. I'm not even sure Vigoda is still with us, but that would have been legendary casting.

Yulian is a Russian name technically, just not of Russian origin, I read people nickname them Yuli.

Hey Dasha, Shout out from your favorite US Marine! O man this Such a great movie, but I can't get behind this one Dasha! This review is way to short for such an epic movie! U left out way to many good parts. And your reaction to the part When Hutch is just sitting there in the club, there was like no reaction from ya. It's like you didn't even notice or get the gravity of the situation. Still loved the reaction and all your reviews! ❤🤍💙💛

You should watch Hardcore Henry next. It's from the same director, Ilya Naishuller. Here's also in a band, Biting Elbows, if you're interested in that.

Hi Dasha... Maybe you want a better web camera like a 1440p or 4k solution. It would be very nice for those who have 1440p or 4k monitors.

The world doesn't really lose anything by burning money, because it's just a representation of value. You lose money personally - but there's no net loss. If you burn 10 trillion dollars, the rest of the surviving money is just worth more. If you print 100 trillion, all the money is worth less.
