I make fairy houses using all Natural materials that I collect in the woods and on the beach. After I started doing this I realized that I would never walk in the woods or on the beach the same again. Finding sycamore bark or shelf mushrooms or interesting mosses is enchanting. I truly appreciate the theme of this video and now I will attempt to use some embroidery in my fairy houses.
I've loved this tutorial Sarah and will find some leaves in our large garden in the morning so I can make my own nice piece of nature inspired embroidery. I also watched the video of how you made your little bag. This was so enjoyable! I have had a lovely time tonight and not bothered that I am such a bad sleeper. I'm thinking maybe I need to wat h you and stitch for a while before going to bed so I can switch off from all the not very nice things that go round and round in our heads at night. Thank you for all your hard work and thanks also to Jonathan and ginger cat as well. ❤❤❤
Thank you for this one, Sarah! I live in the woods of Alabama and I have a little file folder of wool blend felt so this is a great project I can do without buying anything. Score! I love your composition. Layout, colors and stitches. I'm looking forward to taking a walk and finding leaves. I also have large oaks on my property so I think I'll collect some acorns and oak leaves and try dying some fabric. I'm excited!
Mummy is finally catching up with all your videos Auntie Sarah. We have all sorts of trees in our garden so it will be fun doing something with those. Maybe using our new mini fruit trees. its great to see you Mr Ginger cat, we hope you are well. Simon, Tabitha and Peter cats,
I always love seeing when you and Jonathan venture into the forest with your camera and sketch pad or foraging bag! I find these videos so refreshing and inspirational. For me, the sights and sounds of nature are crucial to the development of human art forms, and I'm grateful to you for sharing them with us! 🥬🍁🍃🍂
Thank you Sarah and Jonathan for the video. Very kind of you to think of those of us who for whatever reason cannot attend you class Sarah. This is really useful, I am working on a landscape piece and this will be so helpful. I will be out in my postage stamp garden getting some leaves this afternoon. Good to see Ginger cat approves. 🐱
Thank you, Sarah. I love this. I live on the edge of a state forest and I'm always gathering bits of this and that, and taking photos for inspiration. This will be great fun!
So happy I found you! Your videos are wonderful, and so delightful to watch. I am just starting out and have learned so much. I will have fun binge watching. Thank you!
So happy to see you today. I have many pressed leaves that I could use as patterns. Thank you for wonderful ideas. Your leaves are fantastic. Love them all...
Great idea, lovely stitching and of course beautiful instructions! Thank you for sharing and giving me a reason to take a walk “ with purpose “. Truly inspiring project.😊❤
I’m loving all your videos! I’m saving them to learn and grow my repertoire 👏👏👏👏. I’ve just taken a workshop with my guild and have a piece of felted wool layered and it’s now ready to embellish with embroidered stitching. Soooo, I’m going to watch more of your videos for inspiration. I just love your teaching style 👍💖👍
Loved this! Would be a dream to travel there and take a class with you. Next best option is for you to come back to the states. Oh - I do wet felting…we could do a wet felting then embroidery on it project
I want to have a go at this…it is beautiful! Love your videos. Can you tell me what you do with your finished project(s) please? Do you frame them or do something else?
I really like this project. Too bad we don't have more deciduous trees in my area. There are lots of pines, furs and spruce, IE lots of needles, in my part of Idaho. I think that might be a bit boring with all those straight lines. Maybe my neighbors won't mind letting me have a few leaves off their trees.
I am using 2 Versatile Table Clamps. I have a video about them here ruclips.net/video/ElcnWWixmJ8/видео.html and I sell them on my website here www.sarahhomfray.com/myshop/prod_4538062-Versatile-table-clamp.html I use 2 clamps for filming to ensure the embroidery doesn't wobble too much under the camera but ordinarily just 1 is good enough. If you're interested in buying one please check the item description and your table to ensure the clamp will fit properly.

Do you have smaller plants with interesting leaves Michelle? They don't have to be from trees!
Hi Sarah, I’m interested in that video on how to choose colors but it didn’t pop up when you pointed to it.
Can you tell me where you got that fabric from?
Please tell me where I can purchase the embroidery frame you use?
