I use the same saw daily at work, cutting oil tanks. It's a beast of a saw. I use the 8ah batteries with it, longer run time than the 5ah and lighter than the 12ah.
I use this saw hard, and it takes a beating. I've broken it on jobs, but with that 5 year warranty, I stopped in the local HF on my way home from work. 5 minutes later I'm out the door with new saw in hand, ready for the next day

And just for the red & yellow (or any other color) fan boys. I've used just about every brand these is, and none last forever in this line of work. Being able to exchange it in 5 minutes, with no questions asked, is a real time & life saver.

Wow! That is awesome! I am fairly new to Hercules and was wondering how well they hold up.

@TheRuralMinnesotaGuy yeah it holds up really well. But as I said, I use it to cut open then cut into pieces steel oil tanks (residential heating oil tanks that is). Which is a lot more abuse than most people would put a reciprocating saw through.

I know everyone always knows something better but I can give you a tip that I can guarantee a lot more run time on that battery maybe double and less time on you. I've used a sawsall for many years to cut stuff like what you showed so I found the best blade long ago and the "pruning" blades with the needle points are the worst. They look really badazz but that's about it they look like they would make a good weapon that's for sure. The best I've found is the diablo pruning and clean wood blade with big huge curved teeth 12" is best for this saw. I saw where someone mentioned the Milwaukee pruning and I noticed they started making one like the diablo I haven't used it yet but if it's thicker you would be better off getting it if the teeth are the same size as the diablo. If you take my tip you will throw all these pointy pruning blades away because you will have no use for them after you see how quickly the same job can be done I just gave mine away after I got the diablo. I have a 32cc top handle arborist saw and a 55cc husqvarna rancher and I have rarely used them in years because I always use the reciprocating saw with the diablo blade to cut up and sometimes more than 12". If you put that blade in one that has the switch with orbital setting like you were talking about it cuts insanely fast that's why I'm hoping the next Hercules has that setting. Just trust me on this you will be happy you did your back and battery will be too.

@@TheRuralMinnesotaGuyI will admit the pointy blade you had here did better than the ones I tried but they still don't compare. The blades I'm talking about are used for clean lumber too.

Hey great content and review! I have the same saw and was actually trimming tree branches today with it! I purchased some pruning blades and couldn't be happier! Absolutely love it! God bless 🙌

I use a 12” Milwaukee pruning blade. Works really fast.

ah! Still don't understand all that, but here a lot about it.

@@TheRuralMinnesotaGuy I'm not exactly sure either but I think the more comments a video gets the more the algorithm pushes the video out to others. I know you mentioned you were in the process of replacing all your tools. If you haven't got all your sockets already CAT sockets are just Snap On that are marked CAT although they still have the Snap On date code and other than saying Snap On they are exactly the same and can be had for a fraction of the price. I don't know if you have a Caterpillar dealer near you but if you ordered some and did a few videos on it your videos would get out to more people because that is popular right now. Midwest tool review and CP the tool addict have also done videos on it recently.

@@josephnavarro3620Thanks for the advice. Did not know about CAT and there is a dealer about 45 miles from me
