- FAST Launch Start with the 2018 / 2019 Lexus RC F powered by a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 delivering 477 hp and 520 Nm of torque (total weight: 1.840 kg). As you can see, the acceleration figures are pretty decent considering this car not being turbocharged, it's actually about the same performance as our M550i with the V8 BiTurbo! 0 - 200 km/h in 14.5 seconds is extremely impressive. Once past 100 km/h, RCF accelerates like a freight train.
Roger Mahajan but 100-200 in 9.8 thats not a benchmark. I did with a stock RS3 9.01.

while other carmakers keep chasing power....lexus keep chasing their refinement, 2UR engine been around nearly 16 years now.less power but less problems...keep your RS ,AMG and M power...i'll take this anyday....
I reckon the muted sound of the induction note is amongst the best I've heard in a V8. Sounds so refined yet brutal.

I got to drive an LC500 a couple of months ago. After 15 minutes of driving, it sounded so mesmerizing that I got out of it not remembering how fast the car actually was. The induction sound of a proper naturally aspirated V8 with the old school design of intake on the inside of the V, and the exhaust on the outside!
This car would be a blast with a 6 speed manual.

Sounds better than new c63 turbo v8. However C63 with old NA 6.2L V8 was unbeatable.
r33nismo GTR Well you would think it should, being natural aspired and all. But the 4.0 biturbo engine in the AMG still sound more deep and aggressive than a rcf.

Seems slow but really smooth. Iv had 3 bmw m5 v10… they are disgusting fast. I dnt even have to press the 500 bhp button and you smoke every single car and superbikes too.
How ever they are unreliable and blow up gradually, i want this car now as it looks beautiful and smooth motorway car. Some them sound so amazing too!! I need to test drive one firstly.
Get one while you can. Also, skip 2023 versions as they lack TVD and engine bracing removed. They are built like a tank with super strong chassis and rare car that has a V8 NA engine.
For this car, that's the Best way to start indeed... If you burn out, you lose at least 0.5s and that's not nothing !

Whatver, no car should be max revved on a regular basic. So they just made sure everybody will go off the redline just before he comes around.
100 to 200 in 9.8. Porsche 911 turbo 996 did it in 9.7. Guys this car isn't bad, it's just a bit too heavy. But strip down 200 kilos if it's possible and it's a raw fucker with this v8

Would have one over an M4 if not for that shift beeping. Can’t stand it. People say it helps them or whatever but there’s no harm in having it selectable surely

Emir ist eine Wandlerautomatik. Normalerweise hat dieses Getriebe keine klassische Wandlerüberbrückung wie bei den meisten Autos, wo der Wandler bis zu einer gewissen Geschwindigkeit offen ist und rutscht. Hast aber Recht das Verhalten ist komisch, da dieses Getriebe den Wandler normalerweise sofort schließt und dieser somit nicht das typische "Rutschen" hat wie andere Wandler.
No launch control?
No launch control is needed. There are several returns of launch control users complaining about a fast wearing of the gearbox. I bet Lexus has not implemented a launch control on their cars because of that.

V8 RS5 is still superior, faster, AWD, dual clutch, higher quality interior, better engine, once the novelty of the Rcf wears off you realise you are driving a dollied up Toyota. V8 RS5 just feels way more special and soulful.
lol, then why are you here mate ? DCT will not last long, so it will need a new Transmission vs the AISIN Torque Converter 8Spd. RS5 won't even have re-sale. Let alone that Audi V8 which won't even last.
@@lostalx The RS5 B8 Engine is probably one of the most bulletproof engines Audi ever built together with the 3.0 Supercharged. The RS5 has its problems, but nothing fancy, the most problematic is indeed the transmission. But once you pay 2000€ to get it fixed its good for another 80.000km. Resale i agree. But after driven both the RC-F and RS5 and then buying the RS5 like cmon people need to be realistic its like 2x the car and features. Theres just too much to name why the RS5 is really superior, alone the damn seats are a masterpiece, the retractable spoiler, the 8500 rpm Engine, the absolutely lightning quick paddle shifters if you want to shift yourself, the Valved Exhaust from Factory, the Drive Select which is complete bollocks and something i miss in every other brand. If anything the RS5 with Comfort settings is just as a cruiser as the RC-F but mutates to a proper racer in Dynamic mode which means Dual Clutch shifts insanely agressive, Suspension gets stiffer (its magnetic ride), Spoiler retracts, exhaust valves open, steering gets 3x stiffer and so on. Its absolute jeckyl and hyde. I owned like 2 RS and 3 S Audis, i sold them well over 250.000km sometimes. I never would say it will make you poor. All that needs to be replaced is probably a 2000€ part, but that happens like once every 3 years and is absolutely not important if you spend 40.000€ on a car, its peanuts so to say. So the reliability argument was something that never pulled me to lexus.

Mr. FishPlants the main difference is the crankshaft - the RC F’s V8 uses a cross-plane crankshaft like most American V8s, while the M3’s V8 uses a flat-plane crankshaft (allowing it to rev higher) like Ferraris or a lot of other European V8 engines.
@@nvl2691 Wrong, the E92 M3, RS5 and obviously C63 all use a Cross-Plane V8. They are exactly the same engine types. The RS5 B8 with it crossplane revs to 8500 btw, so no you are wrong.

MichiSoldier Its not because of more torque. Power is the key for 0-200 and not torque. The torque kick is important for 0-50... After that power rules. RS5 got 450 HP but its faster because of much factors. Not only weigh.
Andrew Taylor: RS5 weighs more. Look up test weights. It is quicker than the RCF because it has turbo charged engine. Older V8 RS5 did 0 - 200 km/h in 15.7 seconds. RCF is a lot faster than the older N/A RS5, but not as quick as the new RS5, but the engine is leagues better on the RCF.

@Automann-TV sir, you need to be realistic and honest. The lexus is NOT a fast car, it is quick but for the horsepower it has it should be quite a bit faster. I've seen too many times from this car and every time it is VERY DISSAPOINTING. I LOVE the engine and the car dont get me wrong, it sounds absolutely perfect and it's the only NA v8 on sale today other than a mustang gt and a camaro ss. The lexus gets 13.0 at 110mph in a 1/4 , that's sad considering my g37 stock with 7 speed auto finishes the 1/4 in 13.0 @ 107. I installed intakes did a muffler delete and have sticky rear tires, the Firestone firehawk indy500 tires and I did a 1/4 last month at 12.8 at 108.6. My g37 is almost 10 years old and is a v6 and it also sits 5 people comfortably. I still have XM radio, back up camera with touchscreen , heated and cooled seats steering column mounted paddle shifters that are rifht out of the GTR and I return 24mpg average. My car makes A BIT over 360hp max right now and is faster than the 2018 455hp lexus rcf? oh and according to my racelogic timer my 0-60 is 4.4 seconds hehe
E46325mod The fastest stock G37 quarter mile time that I got off the forums is 13.3 @ 104 mph lol. The absolute slowest time for the RC F is 13.0 while still trapping considerably quicker. A G37 stock or fbo has no chance against a RC F in a roll or dig.

Also in dieser Leistungsklasse finde ich Allrad ein Muss. Finde es bei meinem mit 300 PS, 380 NM und FWD schon manchmal kritisch...
xxxganjamanxxx Der hat Heckantrieb... und bei nem Sauger der sowieso erstmal kein brutales Drehmoment bringt reicht das völlig. Mit ner vernünftigen Sperre und guten Reifen sind 300PS und 380Nm mit ner sauberen Kurve kein Problem mit Frontantrieb.
In den Kurven hab ich überhaupt keine Probleme - meine Sperre sperrt bis zu 100%. Geht mir eher um Vollgas bei < 50 Km/h.
Brauchste nicht auf diesem Fahrzeug. RWD verhält sich anders als FWD in diese angelegenheit. Umso brutaler du vorwärts haust, um so mehr gewicht und grip kriegst du auf der Hinterachse. Der Sauger bringt darüber noch mehr kontrolle über den Drehmoment.
Die Karre ist Idiotensicher.

Looks cheap? Since when did genuine leather and aluminum become cheap? Regardless of how it "looks", Lexus uses premium, highest quality materials on their high end cars. I own one and there is nothing cheap about alcantra, carbon fiber, aluminum, leather. The fact that the steering is entirely made of leather and aluminum, which are by no means "cheap", makes your statement questionable. The carbon fiber roof replacement alone is $6000. There are real carbon fiber panels in the interior on the doors, glove box and center console. Even the paddle shifters are made of lightweight magnesium.
I smell fanboyism. The center of the steering wheel is clearly plastic. Same goes for the buttons. I know it because apart from the buttons it's almost the same steering wheel as our old GS 450h F-Sport.
Buttons are plastic on any German car as well. I have driven both cars (M4 and RCF). The contoured plastic buttons on the steering are not plastic? Is that what you are saying? Interior wise, there is no comparison. RCF is so much better place to be in. All of the reviews say the same thing.

I have an IS F Sport, with the same steering wheel. While I love the car, the steering wheel is too plastic. However the nice thing about the steering wheel is that it actually feels great when in your hands - every bit as good as the BMW 3-series M Sport steering wheel. Now if they just made it with less plastic, it'd be great.
