This great jazz Master (RIP) strengthens my spirit....Over and over again ,very thanks for that.Who says that the Nords are ''cold'' people ... what a stupid stereotype.
That's crazy. The bass "wa-wa" sound is amazing. I love the sound of that piano - warm, yet his left hand isn't muddy when he's playing the solo lines with his right hand.
Mi sento fortunato quando ascolto musicisti e musica così bella così intensa... Il mio Cuore gioisce e insieme ad ogni cellula del Corpo viaggio.. Grazie OSBJORN 🌊🌊🌊🌊❤️
I love the way they are feeling it. It shows you the love they have for their music, and for the music as a whole. I mean look at their faces, most of the time they are with their eyes closed and just really IN the moment. That's what its all about.
I was lucky enough to catch them live once. I was gifted a ticket and knew nothing about them, but their intense passion and enthusiasm made me an instant fan. Incredible band.
Me too. Incredibly sensitive, evocative and boy, do the crescendos kick. Drop to a black note now and again why don't you It's beautiful And I'm writing this whilst listening to it for the umpteenth time. And my eyes are flooding with tears. In a good way. This is special stuff xxx
Both sadness and elation. Sad as I know he is gone. But joy, because I was fortunate once to sit in an audience and experience everything est does to a listener. And in that sense, Esbjörn and his trio will never leave me.
man i've been on a huge binge of that performance the last 2 days haha..i've listened to it 100 times at least. This tune is unspeably beautiful, and I love the energy and soul that these musician show while playing. But what a tune, i've listened to a lot of piano jazz trios, and few tunes got to me as this one did and still does, another one is you look good to me by O Peterson.
It is quite rare to see three geniuses on one stage working together in such complete harmony. Each so completely attuned to what the other two are doing. Sometimes it is almost like one brain controlling three bodies. Also I find it really interesting how often Esbjorn’s hands are physically so close together. Almost like one hand with ten fingers.
I would let my legs be taken off if it would bring back Esbjorn. How I hurt to think that I can never see this magic in person. It is like the desire to have just one conversation with Aristotle. No one will ever make music quite like him, and so we can only try to put ourselves in the audience, but never quite reach that place.
Marcus Schiebold Yeah, brother, I feel your pain. I saw him (them) in Seattle 3 times and was just blown away... People can have Keith Jarrett, he does not come close to the energy and freshness that Esbjorn had.... He left us way too soon.
When I first heard this piece (without video), I was certain that a screaming, wailing electric guitar entered at around 4:55. No, it was Dan Berglund on upright bass.
Still one of the most beautiful tunes ever. Rest in peace Esbjörn Svensson, you've left abeautiful legacy and have created some of the most touching music I've ever heard.

i love this groupe, i knew this band on the airplane for long time ago. i'm always in trouble by zombies who continue to harass me by all type of way. they are paranoa about my existance. please just consider about me, by your kindness and fairness. i'm surrounded by bad, nasty, evil, cowardly and catty persons and anywhere else i am, i'm followed by zombies who can't stop harass me and approach my circumstance and crush my body and do bad thing what i never demand nor allow nor permit. x-lay, ultraviolet-lay, MRI-lay, injection, prevent such meanningless and during sleeping time's medical violence on me. i'm in Paris near by metro jussieu or place de monge's maison's 8 floor, room 4. i'm not patient nor desease nor pet of roommate's man... always stalkers wanna make me dirty and ugly, try to previously prevent such activity please thank you. i love est. i respect them...
I can't believe it's been 7 years... Esbjörn is and will be sorely missed...

we are and us should be put down
For the entire time I heard this on spotify, I never knew there was no electric guitar. The BASSIST DID THAT! Amazing, that is just a brilliant song!
Exactly - I thought the same. Lovely song btw

Thanks a lot! Fantastic recording! One of my favourite tunes from the 2000´s. So sad that this musical genius dies so young.
Both sadness and elation. Sad as I know he is gone. But joy, because I was fortunate once to sit in an audience and experience everything est does to a listener. And in that sense, Esbjörn and his trio will never leave me.
I saw and listened him on November 2007 in Hamm/Germany and I do agree your completly!

You have Paranoid Schizophrenia!
3 people thought it was the download button
Two people never saw them live.
Who makes this kind of music today?
Gogo penguin, Portico, Mammal Hands come to mind; any other band you would recommend?
Kinda reminds me of The Bad Plus
