Hi Gaby! I haven’t purchased yet but from the past few years of house hunting, my dad has helped me look up police reports of the areas I considered and neighborhood reports and recent activity. Obviously talking to people about the area is super helpful too, just an additional option is to talk to law enforcement (if you feel comfortable doing so) or reading reports from the area.

Genius! That is so smart and will definitely be a strategy I use in the future. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your house buying experience with us! A lot of people wouldn’t be willing to do this so thank you! 🙏🏾 Definitely taking notes 📝

You're so welcome! I was confident while recording but shaking in my boots while editing.. 😅 I do not like showing ignorance and weakness. That is not my typical M.O., but the learning for others was worth the post and worth the vulnerability. 🫶🏾 Thanks for watching!

Congratulations on buying your first home! It's a major accomplishment especially being so young so don't be to hard on yourself. Imo, I will say that you didn't do anything wrong because you didn't know what you don't know at the time. The home inspector should have caught most of these issues and alerted you if repairs would be expensive and the realtor should have informed you more about the neighborhood.

Thank you so much for being honest. We all make mistakes. Most of us just hide them 🙈
I'll be honest, I thought about all the points you've mentioned when you were buying the house .... especially after you shared everything you were going through but you seemed so confident 😢
I'm really glad that you seem to be taking everything in stride though. Super proud of you 👏👏👏👏👏 thank you for allowing some of us to learn from your experience.
I definitely needed this video. God bless you Gabby! ❤

Thank you for sharing! I also still need a fence lol! Corner lots a a fun time right. My inspector was good! My realtor also paid for him to come back on a second inspection for the things that I asked to be fixed. But he still missed something that cost me $500 12 hours after closing lol. Oh and a wasps nest that caused me to have to have an exterminator in hour 13 lol.
I also just want to tell you that I appreciate you sharing your truth. Since I know you in real life, I’ll text you a few things that may be helpful.
