I’ve been into pomade for a couple years but have finally been prestyling the last couple weeks. Never realized how much more volume I could get. Just ordered a couple of these in Oud Wood. Can’t wait to try. Thank you, this was very informative ✌️
You confirmed that this is an absolutely GOATED product for all hair types, though I already knew it to be that way for me personally. With your coarse wavy/curly hair I’m not too surprised that you get more mileage out of it as a pre-styler than as a post styler. But regardless of how it’s used it’s just so user friendly and it delivers on what it promises. I swear I’m not a paid advertisement for this product (although Mr Branson, if you’re reading this I’d gladly be a spokesman for Blackwater).
Got the styling cream at a discounted price when I was purchasing the Xtreme Dead Sea Clay. Totally agree that these products together work fantastic. Good hold and finish, and at the end of the day my hair feels super soft.
Been interested in getting a volumising product for my next pre-styler and Black Water has always been up there as an option. Appreciate such a comprehensive review 👍 It does seem the product has changed quite a bit in the last few years, I've heard the hold was firmer before but saw some complaints about dryness which put me off. I guess that's not a problem with the latest version. The issue now for me is that the new bottle is less than half the size of the previous one, but the price (for me over here with a UK supplier) is the same, so it's effectively more than double the price 😬
Yay another video. Keep it going 😊 On topic: I had the old packaging with the pomp. And after 1 week I could not use it anymore:( and unfortunately they could not do anything about it. Not even a refund.
I have a similar hair type and use Moroccan oil treatment hair oil as my prestyler which works very well. I found it works amazing with a tiny bit of baxter clay pomade for an all day flowy natural look. Any reason why you use the smoothing lotion over the oil? I am assuming you tried their hair oil lol.
I was wondering if you knew of a good product for night heat weather . I have the sea salt paste right now but I need something thats gonna hold and also not to shiny
@@bigblue10179Blackwater does all of those things except the high hold. It’s more of a medium hold but I find it’s plenty strong enough to keep medium-fine textured hair in place all day. You will be hard pressed to find a true high holding water based product that is matte finish and does not have some tug and pull at application.
Hey! I’ve been watching your videos for a while for 10s hairstyle because we have similar hair types and cowlicks, I’m just wondering if you know of any good alternatives to the products you used to use because they don’t make them anymore!
The Tigi Hard 2 Get stuff is a pretty basic wax paste type of stuff, so plenty of similar options out there! If you want a strong holding version that would look the part, the Flagship heavy clay is a great option. For more of a medium hold I'd say something like Grand Classic Texture Balm would work great.
They cut the contents from 8oz to 3.4oz while keeping the price the same... is the refined formula better enough than the old one to make the new version worth getting? That's a lot of product to deduct from the old version. Hoping Flagship isn't just doing this as an easy way to churn more profit. Going from 8 to 7 or 6 ounces is understandable, but 3.4? It has to be more concentrated, right?
I mean yeah, I only have to use like a dime-sized amount and that's plenty. So it's not like I'm burning through the bottle at all. I've been using it almost on the daily and haven't gone through much at all.
I used to watch this channel years ago when I was into hair products. Now that I just got a hair transplant, can't wait to get back into the game

Do you know of any good non-aerosol hairspray?
Yay another video. Keep it going 😊

It hardened up?

Yeah the oil is nice too, but the smoothing lotion is basically like Brazilian Blow Out in a bottle lol. Works amazing on my coarse hair!

The Streamline heavy clay would be a solid option! Water-based but acts like an OB, and very strong hold.
Hey Matt, im choosing between Flagship and Barbaric Style. Which brand do you prefer?
Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷🫶🏻
I haven't tried Barbaric Style so unfortunately I can't speak to that one, but Flagship is top tier!
What’s the best matte product u recommend that’s water based n easy to apply n won’t rip hair out but provide strong hold?

@@docgrowsfood what product you would suggest that is easy to apply water based that has a good all day strong hold matte product?

Review the new Arcadian spray clay

I like the first time I bought it later they made it too thick and clogs the pump
No longer a concern with this version 👌

Question answered … promises 🤣🤣🤣
In all seriousness, I enjoyed the video and you did succeed in sparking my interest in the product! 👍🏼
