My personal favorite Pixar film is Ratatouille. I'm sure movies like The Incredibles and Tou Story are better on par, but Ratatouille is my true favorite of the bunch. I find it to be the most creative, since it about a rat(keep that in mind) who wants to become a chef in Paris, France at a high-class restaurant. If that doesn't equal great writing and possibilities, I don't know what does.
18:51 - Ratatouille is my favorite. Best... Pixar movie... EVER!!! It is claimed as Pixar's cinematic masterpiece that won the Best Animated Feature Oscar. Brad Bird did a beautiful job writing, directing and producing the movie. Thank U, Mr. Bird. Gr8 Job! 🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏
Remy didn't live under the restaurant. He lived in the country, but he and his family had to escape the cottage they lived in when he tried to use spices for a mushroom he cooked. Reme=y got seperated from his family, and ended up in Paris near Gusteau's. Ratatouille is my favourite Pixar movie :P
Something I want to mention, after the Cars movie, there was a direct sequel video game, where all the characters were voiced by the Actors from the movie. Even Paul Newman as Doc before he passed away.
one of my most favorite pixar films. when ever its one i 'll watch it. i dont care what im doing i'll watch it. onlymoves that would make me do that would be Incredibles and Tarzan the movie Ratatouille helped me appreciate patton osawald as an actor.
Let me put that into perspective. At my high school senior superlatives, the 3 smartest girls and 3 smartest guys had a trivia competition. The last question was to guess the current 19 Pixar films. However this was late 2018 meaning there was actually 20. When then listed off the films, I knew one was missing and it took me a while to realize they forgot Ratatouille.
I'm glad you do, because I can see why that style is so near and dear to so many people to the point where CGI is often demonized for replacing hand-drawn, as hand-drawn seems to have an innocent childlike feel, like children's book illustrations being brought to life, regardless of how dark and edgy it is.
I'd love to make hand drawn films as much as everyone but, since not a lot of films with that style make a lot of money and their usually very expensive unfortunately.
I Remember looking forward to Ratatouille after Seeing The First Teaser Trailer During Cars. Then, On July 4th, 2007, I Got To see Ratatouille In Theatres. And Guess What? It didn't Disappoint! This Film is So Underappreciated That I Recommend Giving It A Watch
Vanilla Beam wjat angers me is they were going to make a sequel, but when it failed at tje box office thebidea was scrapped. you could tell they wanted to by the way it ended.
November 5, 2004 the exact day this movie came out and the same day, month, and year I was born. "Coincidence, I think not!" -Bernie from the first movie

firerock2245 Well,Cars may be good and smart and with a good message, but on other hand we have Happy Feet that had a much important message about penguins' life and how it's getting worse and worse.
Happy Feet was ridiculously overrated. The visuals were awesome, yes, but the story was mediocre, boring and its potential was missed, the characters were hypocritical and stupid, some of its morals were awful and the environmental message was annoyingly unnecessary. Cars may not have been as great as The Incredibles or Finding Nemo, but at least has a nice and coherent story, decent characters, good lessons and is more enjoyable to watch than a nonsensical movie about shallow and horny singing penguins.
Okay, I might not seen the WHOLE Happy Feet but Cars to me, especially when I saw it the first time with my first girlfriend in 2006, it was not as great as Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and ESPECIALLY The Incredibles, one of my FAVORITE Pixar flms of all time, it felt like a slight Disappointment at the time. Sure, I appriciate it more now but still the other movies both before and after Cars, they're better than that film (or the franchise, Cars 2, not great but not AS bad as people say, though the least favorite Pixar movie, and 3 is equal but not greater than Cars but still better than C2 and The Good Dinosaur which isn't bad but is clearly overshadowed by the other movies, especally Inside Out, Coco and The Incredibles 2).
You know what's tragic? Ratatouille premiered the same year as chowder, which I never saw, until years later, when a dream, That's right a DREAM-Convinced me to watch the show.
I went to Paris a few years ago, and just around the corner from the hotel was that rat poison shop with loads of dead rats hanging in the window, exactly like in the film. That was the highlight of my trip to Paris!
Hey, just to let you know there are people out here who actually enjoy /some/ of Disney's sequels...(/NOT/ including Cinderella 2) sequels like Lady & the Tramp 2, the Little Mermaid 2, Peter Pan 2, the Jungle Book 2. Etc, etc.
16:51 - 17:11 I think Animat made a mistake, I expected him to say: "When it was released on June 9th 2006, like the previous films, it was a major hit. The critics praised the film for it's beautiful animation, great voice acting and colourful characters, fun songs and music and said that this film is even better than the others and it's fun to watch for everyone." I think this is all wrong of what he said, I don't think it matters how strong the story has to be, what matters is that it has such colourful and great characters, great music and songs and the smooth animation.
@Jordan Seeds I was surprised at his French skills at first ,but then I learned he was from Montreal,Canada. And remember in Montreal, or just Canada in general, there's a very large amount of French speakers there

All 3 of these movies all got over the 110 minute mark. Ratatouille with 111 minutes, The Incredibles with 115 minutes and Cars with a jaw-dropping 117 minutes!!! O.M.G!
I can pretty much tell why, especially when one's English Language Arts skills advance (sadly, English was my least favorite subject in my middle and high school years due to not being much of a bookworm and I couldn't stand having to write numerous essays).
I'm actually pretty glad that The Incredibles isn't getting a sequel yet. Don't get me wrong that's the sequel from Pixar I want the MOST, but with Pixar's latest series additions, having patience for a great idea to come seems like the safer option.
My brief thoughts on the films: The Incredibles - Easily one of the best, possibly my favourite Pixar film of all. Cars - Honestly, I don't hate this one (though I am a bit of a car enthusiast). Not the best, but not the worst either. Ratatouille - Eh, I like it enough. But the end speech in that film... just brilliant. Also, that Edna Mode voice was spot-on! Next up: robots, talking dogs & a nostalgic finale to a great series.
Thomas Keller and the French Laundry?! Holy shit!! No wonder the food looked so good and they got the French kitchen/brigade system down so well! Lucky bastards!
It's the whole "how can these cars do this thing but is able to do another thing" and the fact that it's the "egotistical hot shot gets lost but converted into a small town environment" story that has has been done hundreds of times.
I love the movie Cars. Even if it wasn't successful as most other films I think it was amazing. I don't see what's the problem about the movie. I enjoyed the movie a lot.
I don't think Im surprised when Disney turned down Steve's offer because there's no way Disney will hand all of their money to them. Especially considering they make billions of dollars off of merchandising
aww...I like the iron giant. I didn't know it did bad. I thought it was just one of them underground kinda classics... :( ....but maybe that's why I think that.
The Incredibles = Masterpiece! Super incredible! Cars = Decent, may not be as interesting as the previous flims, but still. Ratatouille = Good, I'm hungry
My Top 10 Favourite Pixar Films: 1. Cars 2 2. Cars 3. Brave 4. Toy Story 5. A Bugs Life 6. Toy Story 2 7. Finding Nemo 8. Toy Story 3 9. Ratatouille 10. Inside Out
12:10 Actually the first movie that Disney and Pixar worked on together was Ratatoullie
Cars was the last one that Pixar themselves worked on
Then why does it have Disney's name in it?
Because they finished it before the big purchase between the two, so they had to add the iconic Disney name on it.
Cars was my childhood favorite.

I can pretty much tell why, especially when one's English Language Arts skills advance (sadly, English was my least favorite subject in my middle and high school years due to not being much of a bookworm and I couldn't stand having to write numerous essays).
I really think you should make a video of your top 10 favorite moments from this AL. You've got some pretty funny moments in here!
