- DreamWorks has experienced a period of resurgence lately, and its led to many people looking back and appreciating the sheer variety present in their catalogue. I felt like giving my thoughts on it as well as reviewing Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and The Bad Guys after getting a bunch of requests to do so.

This video’s entire point is that Dreamworks is not on some sort of comeback and is the same as they’ve always been. You are clearly not watching this video and I can tell by looking at the retention time in my analytics. Shut up.

The making of all the original projects now let’s see how that goes
See here’s the thing though, you know how Puss in Boots 2 took like, a decade to make right?
Wait, are you saying that People on TikTok and RUclips Shorts who call Things mid and Peak unironically don´t have any Media Literacy and only jump on the Bandwagon of whatever is popular at the Moment? Why, I never!
Based on my knowledge on Dreamworks film, 4 of the film deserve the "Perfect film" titles and Puss in boots the last wishes is one of them
This is dreamworks Renaissance
Y love the bad guys puss in boots 2 and soon dreamworks animation is going back to IT's roots like in shrek with ruby gillman Teenage Kraken making fun of Disney and its wrong decisión with the little mermaid remake
If DreamWorks is this serious in making a fifth Shrek film, I hope they bring in the people who made Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Not just for the animation but also for the writing as well. They gave Puss in Boots the most compelling character arc. Imagine the possibilities they can have for Shrek himself.
That's going to be the biggest hurdle for Shrek 5: how do you further expand on Shrek himself? Shrek 1, 2, and 4 all did a good job illustrating how much he's come to value the people around him, so you'd have to take the character in a new direction. But what should that direction be? Shrek is nowhere near as brash and egotistical as Puss was, and he becomes pretty open and chill by the end of Shrek 4. I just don't know where you can take his character.
@@matthewmazzatto8003 the only thing I could think of is his Kids not wanting to be as Orgeish as him or something. Fatherhood is a avenue they could explore more.
@@cadis4257 I'm really hesitant about going the Fatherhood route with Shrek because of how poorly the Ice Age movies handled it. Maybe it could be done well and that's likely the best way to handle the supposed time jump from Shrek Forever After to Puss in Boots 2, but it still makes me leery.
We'll see what approach they take soon enough I suppose.
@@matthewmazzatto8003 A few things come to mind:
Since Puss by the end of the Last Wish has become this legend, a significant amount of time has passed which means Shrek is more or less in the position of giving advice to Puss since the latter has now focused on settling a new life with Kitty and Perrito.
Besides his own kids potentially growing up and maybe one or two if not all of them desired to be human or any potential conflict, there could be the issue of addressing his true origins as an ogre. Heck, you can even bring back the ogres in the Forever After alternate timeline and see where they are now. After all, it sort of confirmed that there are other ogres except they just live in almost complete isolation of one another.
Which brings us to a more deeper connection: Shrek's parents. A part of Shrek lore implied if not confirmed that Shrek was almost eaten as a baby by his father because he might have been an unworthy offspring (sort of like how Spartans throw away unwanted infants because they might be unhealthy or a curse or something). Heck, I won't be surprised or it would be cool that in the alternate timeline in Forever After where Shrek did not exist, his father might as well have eaten him there.
In addition, there's also Donkey who might have an origin story worth of exploring.
On a final note, we can even extend Shrek into a 6th film. But in this one, they should go with the risk of Shrek growing really old same with Fiona, bring back the aspect of mortality and inevitability of death and of course, the aspect of growing older and possibly dying. I mean if there will be a Puss in Boots 3, that is also the inevitable fate that is waiting for Puss.
@@theautumnwind8437 Well, that's more on becoming a father and not necessarily being a father 24/7 365 until the end of your life for your kids.
Here's another thing you have to give Dreamworks props for, something that a company has to have balls to do, they made their rendering engine completely open source so anyone can use it.
Wow really? I never knew that! Extra props to them doing that in a age where every company chooses the anti-customer route. Like pay walling basic features or being anti-repair.

It genuinely pisses me off that no one's giving Forever After credit to this day. Even Schaffrillas is pissed!
Can I just mention how awesome the Captain Underpants movie is? It’s full of immature toilet jokes and predictable plot beats, but they put so much effort into it that it ends up being a crazy fun movie to watch.
Another one of DreamWorks' most underrated movies. It's pretty faithful to the Captain Underpants books
totally agree, I loved the books as a kid. When this movie came out, at first i thought it was just gonna be terrible yet I was actually surprised at how good it was, the characters were amazing, story was good for a kids movie and while it has its potholes, it still stands out as a good movie.

Teenage Kraken sold me on the premise alone not because it’s spiteful to Disney, but because I like the idea that it presents. The concept of Krakens being good and Merfolk being bad is genuinely fascinating.
Especially since merfolks we’re not portrayed as good before the lil mermaid came to be
What I find funny about this movie is how similar the mermaid looks to the Disney little mermaid and that both teen kraken and the live action little mermaid are coming out around the summer
Only problem I have is the voice of the main character. I could not handle that for 90 minutes man
It's nice to know that DreamWorks still mocks Disney.
I like that idea as well as it's more in line with Mermaids in their original folklore and myths where they are evil, sometimes monstrous and grotesque creatures that lure sailors underwater to eat them.
There was one moment were we was scared dreamworks was dead NOW THEY TAKING THE THRONE THEY ARE THE KING 👑 GOATED FR FR
I felt my brain rot at the grammar on display, but I getcha.
I don’t think anyone believes Dreamworks would be dead. Irrelevant at worst maybe.
Puss in Boots 2 really shocked me in how genuinely amazing it is. And with Teenage Kraken being released around the same time as the live-action Little Mermaid, we could not only see DreamWorks becoming a genuine rival to Disney again, but also add that level of snark and roasting towards the Big Mouse we haven't seen since the late 1990s-early 2000s.
While I don't like the cheap "Spider-Verse" animation style (same director), everything else was spot-on. It had a compelling hero, villains who ran the gamut of how villains work (redeemable, complete monster, force of nature), no wokeness, and they didn't try to "update" the story for a "modern audience", which really means a woke audience which mostly doesn't exist outside of a handful of blue left coast inner cities.
@@Nonamearisto look you can have opinions about animations, but when you call the animation that was so good it would influence ANOTHER amazing movie, you'd hardly call it cheap
@Aristocles Bro, can you not bring that negative political talk around here?!
We're talking about DreamWorks movies it's not THAT deep.
Puss and Boots the last wish is a fantastic movie with a great story, but you act like it was solely made to not be "wOkE"
Also, that word WOKE has just been thrown around and abused for almost a decade at this point.
People are so ignorant about the original meaning and context of the word nowadays its honestly sad.
I understand some of your frustrations, like with race swapping established characters and especially changing their sexualities.
But now it just feels like people use woke to hate on ANYTHING relating to different sexualities or minorities. Even if the show or movie is actually really good.

@@superstardoughball9822 It's still cheaply done. A good model for saving money on animation.
I still think it’s funny that Lightyear made around 5x more than Puss in Boots: The Last Wish for opening weekend but The Last Wish ended its box office run making almost double of Lightyear. It’s third weekend in the box office was higher domestically than it’s opening.
A lot of people I knew were meh about PIB:TLW until the extremely positive reviews came out with people freaking out over how good it was, then everyone I knew went out and saw it
The Last Wish is an example of how to make a good spinoff film, while Lightyear is the exact opposite.
It's expectations vs reality.
Lightyear was supposed to be an epic adventure with a fairly well-known and well-loved character, and it turned out to be progressive crap.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, being a continuation of a spinoff from 10 years ago while destroying familiar characters, additionally with an 'annoying supporting character' turned out to be a perfectly balanced film where every character was interesting and Perrito was funny.
So no surprise that Puss earned more in the long run.
They are like the opposites of each other. Everyone expected Lightyear to be a deep and mature film and the movie proceeded to be boring. Meanwhile, everyone expected nothing special from The Last Wish and got surprised by how well made it is.
That's why people should really stop judging box office of the opening night, and start judging the first month or so, because some movies won't start gaining traction until word of mouth spreads, and others will have an amazing first night, but then nose dive afterwards
I'm really excited for Ruby Gillman, even if just for the merit of it being a completely original idea that isn't a sequel or adaptation. Also, it just looks really pretty.

People usually only talk about Dreamwork's 3D projects but their first film The Prince of Egypt is still the best animated film ever created, and I am not exaggerating.
The Prince of Egypt is a passion project Katzenberg had since his Disney days, and it shows with the amount of care and effort he and the team put into it.
It was also one of the reasons he left Disney, as the other executives wouldn’t green-light the project.
It’s on par with Jonah a VeggieTales Movie as my favorite Christian film.
I grew up with it, quite literally. As a kid I just hated the weird proportions of animated characters. I just straight up refused to watch some animated films, with some exceptions. Like Toy Story, Megamind and a few others. I loved the 2D animated films. They just looked so much nicer. I loved Basil the great mouse detective, The sword I the stone and Aladdin. But I loved The Prince of Egypt even more. I used to sing the songs all the time. I still love it.
The Prince of Egypt was not Dreamwork's first film...
“Don’t call it a comeback, we’ve been here for years!” -Dreamworks
Dreamworks was pretty much MIA after Kung Fu Panda 3 released. I know HTTYD3 was a hit in 2019, but that was their lone good win during that 6-year timeframe. They had some decent flicks with Captain Underpants and The Bad Guys and Abominable was close to working, but the rest of their output for those 6 years was rough. Two Trolls jukebox musicals for toddlers, two weird Boss Baby movies, and the absolute worst film they've ever released in Spirit Untamed. Yeah, they still occasionally had a watchable movie, but it felt like the Dreamworks of Old was gone.
Then Puss in Boots the Last Wish took over the internet. If they can get through 2023 in good shape and really hone in on what made PiB:tLW work for their future works, then maybe we'll truly see a Dreamworks resurgence.
Im starting to realise I grew up more with DreamWorks then Disney
Yeah I’ve always seen DreamWorks as the “throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks” type studio. But whenever their movies are good, they’re really friggin good. And they’ve usually done a good job separating themselves from the competition. And the fact they’re still continuing to experiment gives me all the respect for them.
seeing how they went so many ideas and see how it works and not its always has a good storytelling and villains
I also enjoy DreamWorks for that. Plus, their shows over the last decade have honestly been good to great (with some exceptions I won’t name to avoid less… savory fanatics I’ll say).
Their shows are honestly one of the only reasons I keep Netflix around, though I know they’ll soon be switching platforms.

Yes! The Croods is a gorgeous movie that still brings me to tears and pure laughter.
A film that I was so thankful to see on the big screen.
Lol yeah, Croods was great
Yes! The original Croods is my absolute favorite! I have so many of that film's fantastically hilarious quotes living rent free in my head!
The Croods saga deserves more love. And I don't mean it metaphorically or rhetorically or poetically or theoretically or in any other fancy way. It deserves more love, straight up.
In a world where conformity is the norm, its amazing to find a studio willing to take a risk, and they did great.
I liked puss in boots’ design in the last wish so much, that the old design just looks odd to me now, I really want this style for shrek 5
The new character models are so much more expressive and the art style is gorgeous. It's hard to go back and watch the older movies.
Imagine remakes of the first two Shrek films where everything is the same except with the style and animation of Puss in Boots 2. While I’m usually against remakes this is one I’d be down for, because it be of an up-to-date re-animation rather than a soullous reboot.
If only you knew how mid kind fu panda 4 was gonna be at this time 😂
Dude imagine a stylized Rise of the Guardians sequel
Oooo, yes!
Honestly I like to think death had a specific hatred for drunk puss n boots since he shattered that crystal immediately without looking. Of all the deaths of puss n boots death seeing him stupidly stumble off a cliff would be the one Death would be most offended by.
Most of the criticism regarding the Bad Guys was regarding the toilet humor and I agree that it’s kind of annoying. However, the humor specifically the butt meteor joke was a gag from the books so I’m willing to be more lenient when it comes to looking at the humor.
My main problem was regarding the plot twists the first was regarding Marmalade. The problem with the twist for me wasn’t that it’s predictable like what you said the twist doesn’t change Marmalade’s character and pre-twist there were signs of him having ulterior motives. The problem was regarding the plan where it felt unnecessary for him to disguise himself as the old lady especially since how was Marmalade suppose to know that Wolf would prevent him from tripping.
The second twists that bothered me was Snake double-crossing Marmalade. The problem regarding this twist was why would Marmalade trust someone who was a member of the group he just betrayed.
Despite the insane plot twists, I enjoyed the movie specifically the heist at the very beginning and the one where Marmalade was trying to use the gang to save the guinea pigs.
I think marmalade figured out the five’s temperaments somehow
As someone who got into your channel through your owl house video, I really like the changes that you made. Ditching the more "edgy" parts of your videos make them sound more mature and professional.
Honestly I think the reason why I always preferred dreamworks to Disney (and to some extent Pixar) Is they are willing to take risks sometimes for the worse and sometimes for the better. I’d rather have a company that’s so wild with their output of films than one that never really changes and keeps pushing films that are getting more and more dull.
I fell in total love with The Bad Guys after watching it just _once,_ and it instantly became my favorite DreamWorks movie (prior to The Bad Guys, I didn’t have a favorite-the closest would probably be Kung Fu Panda). A combination of the unique art style, over-the-top action scenes, enjoyably simple story and memorable characters (the chemistry between Mr. Wolf and Diane being my personal standout) all come together to give The Bad Guys a strong charm I haven’t felt in any other recent movie of the past few years.
What’s especially wild to me is that it’s an adaptation of a book series; the movie and the books, though they share the same name, are entirely different. If you didn’t know any better you’d probably think Diane was a movie-original character, because her counterpart in the book series isn’t even named Diane (her name in the book series is Ellen and she looks very different). I was surprised to find that Ms. Tarantula was _Mr. Tarantula_ in the book series. I really appreciate DreamWorks going the extra mile to basically rewrite the world and characters of The Bad Guys similar to what a series reboot would do, yet still keeping things similar enough to where you can draw comparisons between the books and the movie.
The Bad Guys is super great, almost unexpectedly so. Even though all eyes are on Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, I personally put The Bad Guys on the highest pedestal in DreamWorks’ library.
I agree. Really hope it gets a sequel soon.
Eh, it's valid, i guess. But i have to agree, the bad guys has a very unique charm, and i definitly enjoyed it.
Really liked this video. Much shorter than usual and more consumable for people like me with less time. Getting into the entire history of DreamWorks is something I've always wanted to see. This is fire content Cartoonshi!
If they decide to expand on the Puss in Boots franchise, I'm hoping they explore Kitty's character more, mostly because I want some more context about Santa-Coloma but she was my favorite character in both films.
most of those dreamworks edits are preddy damn homophobic, alao they need to calm down, not every dreamworks movie is like logan or shindler's list
Dreamworks are killing it with their sequels, Disney should take notes
Dreamworks has been the king of sequels since Shrek 2. Outside of the snooze-fest that is Shrek the Third and the utter desecration known as Spirit Untamed, basically every sequel and spinoff they've made has either been better than the original and/or outstanding in its own right.

Dreamworks is the kind of company that benefits the industry by just existing. It's not nearly on the same level as Adult Swim, but the experimentation is what allows the medium to evolve and shift. Not all their movies are home runs, but their impact is felt.
Puss in boots was amazing; it's one of those movies that felt shorter than what it actually was. I was never bored and the pacing was fantastic along with the humor and character work; *especially* for a 90 min movie. The bar has been raised for animated storytelling in "kids" movies. Now with that being said I'm not expecting any DreamWorks movies (or other family friendly animated studios movies) in the near future to be on par with it, though teenage kraken does seem pretty fun so I'll probably give that a shot.
Tbh at some point I thought I was getting too old for animated movies (was proven wrong by rewatching classics and even something more recent like spider-verse) but only realized I just need consistently solid humor that *isn't* cringe and/or forced, likable fun characters that have at least a *bit* of depth to them, well executed nuanced themes while having something to say and a plot that doesn't fucking *drag.*
Dreamworks is so weird. When they're good, they're fantastic! Yet when they're bad, they're god awful...
As a kid/preteen I thought dream works was not that good due to boss baby and the trolls. But now, I think I’ve grown a huge respect towards dream works. Sure they may have things like boss baby and the trolls. But they also have extremely wonderful animated films under their belt such as kung-fu panda. So even with some films that dont pack the same punch as puss in boots the last wish, I’m still excited to see what dream work does and what new things they will try to do next. (Also the next kung-fu panda animated in a similar style to puss in boots the last wish just with its own sprinkle of charm. I would love that and really hope dream works will do that :)

A lot of people seem to be upset that Dreamworks isn’t keeping the spiderverse style for Ruby Gilman but it makes complete sense why. The spiderverse style really only gets a chance to truly shine in action scenes, and Puss in Boots, Bad Guys, and Spiderverse all contain many action sequences throughout the movie. Judging from Ruby Gilman, it’s a lot less action oriented, not saying there won’t be any but a lot less than those movies, which means the spiderverse style doesn’t get a chance to shine. Plus, we don’t want this new style to run dry so soon so I’m happy they changed it up for this movie
Then they released trolls 3
Puss: Hey! You wanna see something cool?
*New Cartoonshi video*
Honestly I prefer a movie studio with a unique and various outlet like DreamWorks, whether their films are good or bad, because sometimes too much of the same thing, even if it’s good, can become stale and repetitive. For every Prince of Egypt, once in a while you can add a Shark Tale to your watchlist. Not every movie DreamWorks makes is trying to be like their magnum opus; they’re just doing their thing, and I respect them for that.
Finally someone understands Dreamworks' identity.
anyone here after kf4
I still can't get over the fact that the same company who made Kung Fu Panda also made The Boss Baby.
Bad guys is based off a series of comic books written by an Aussie kid book author. They have room for a second and third movie!
Or even a tv show!
Regarding the twist villain in The Bad Guys, they WANTED it to be pretty blatant that that character was the villain.
Also he was an adorable Villain
A kung fu panda movie with the Last Wish animation style could end up being the best thing ever
I swear, kung fu panda would look so good in that style, I'm realy exited about kung fu panda 4.
Dreamworks is very hit-or-miss, but once they hit, they hit really hard.
Now that i think about it, both Puss in Boots the Last Wish and the LEGO Batman movie feel eerily similar.
A spinoff to an already great movie focusing on one of the secondary characters, giving them their own emotional journey despite mainly being a comedic character, and being arguably better than the original movie.
Yeah idk if anyone sees it but LEGO Batman is the Puss in Boots 2 of the LEGO franchise (or ig Puss in Boots 2 is the LEGO Batman movie of the Shrek franchise?)
With dreamworks is their hit or miss nature is because they like to try something new either a new audience or a new idea so while they are inconsistent it isn’t because they aren’t trying
Dreamworks is a studio I will consistently trust my whole heart with when it comes to sequels. Ignoring the Shrek the Third-shaped elephant in the room, if they said "hey, we're gonna do a Rise of the Guardians sequel" I wouldn't be worried or cynical about it considering their incredible track record.
And I'll be honest, I got whiplash from seeing that image of Puss' original model after his Wish one 💀
Dreamworks films always has one positive from other animation studios………..(say it with me now)…………..PRESENTATION!
I love and am honestly glad of the direction DreamWorks has headed
Puss in Boots 2 was an absolute blast!
I've seen a lot of homophobes using the Dreamworks hype to shit on LGBT+ representation, they shouldn't be comfortable with that💀
It's a matter of time before Dreamworks introduces their own gay character. If they do, watch them suddenly do a full 180 on Dreamworks and call them "mid", then switch to fawning over Illumination or whatever
I hope DreamWorks keeps on making more amazing movies like puss in boots 2
Claiming Disney/Pixar stuck to their classic ingredients is like saying McDonald's stuck to their classic ingredients.
We're Shark Tale and Bee Movie awful movies DreamWorks made? Absolutely but as Megamind would say “There's a benefit to losing. You get to learn from your mistakes.”
DreamWorks is gonna continue to make overall-mixed-quality movies, like they always have.
I have one thing to mention: while Death is a force of nature, he is also a villain since he’s attacking Puss out of spite rather than actually waiting for his time to come.
With the title i thought this video would just be praising Dreamworks for making 1 really good movie despite every one of the their movies having a wide range of quality. Glad its a more balanced take and acknowledging how consistently inconsistent Dreamworks makes their movies.
The only issue I've seen with Teenage Kraken was who ever was in charge of making the promo trailer, pretty much spoiled the whole movie. That probably won't have too much effect on the films performance but it's still bothersome that they did that.

Although I do agree with almost everything you said about Puss in Boost The Last Wish, I disagree with your take on Death.
Death had self-imposed motivations to kill Puss. Death may have been "justifed" in his reasons (up to the viewer to judge that), but that doesn't take away from Death's selfish reasons to kill Puss early in his 9th life, rather than taking his life naturally, just like everyone else.
Even if you argue that Death was just teaching Puss a lesson and that that was the reason he was chasing him, I would also disagree with that. Towards the end, when Puss has his epiphany and a revelation on life, Death is frustrated when saying, "Why the hell do I always play with my food?" This is not something you would say when trying to teach one a lesson. Death was after Puss for his life, relishing in the fear Puss elicited each time Death scared the living shit out of him.
So, I would still consider Death to be a villain in the story and an antagonist to Puss himself.
I genuinely don't get what you're talking about because this is NOT what I said about Death at all. Yes, I neglected to mention his own petty reasons, but that doesn't default to "I think Death only wanted to teach Puss a lesson." I also mention the fact that he plays with his food, and that he's only forced to back off towards the end once Puss begins to take his life seriously.
"When Dreamworks makes a movie, the gods flip a coin" - A comment I saw somewhere else
Rise of the gaurdians is under-rated
I honestly wish that the human characters from "Teenage Kraken" had the same art design as the humans from "Puss in Boots the Last Wish".
Shrek 4 is fucking good and better than shrek 1 you guys just hate it cause it follows up shrek 3
We dislike it because it’s a poorly written and unfunny movie.
Two things:
One, Thank you for talking about the bad guys and how it was the start of DreamWorks' newfound success.
Two, thanks for not calling death a villain and saying he is an antagonist. So sick of seeing people get that distinction wrong.
Great video mate, keep it up.
I am extremely happy for Dreamworks being on a winning streak over Disney. Unlike the other 13 year old pricks who think it’s because they’re not going “woke” unlike Disney (?), they’re propping up stories with love and heart in them once again like they did in the 2000s. I thought The Bad Guys was a lovely new addition even if it didn’t have the most original story, the artstyle was wonderful and I loved the characters though to be honest the only real criticism is I think they should have had guns (idk why lol) and what can I say about Peak in Boots The Last Wish? One of the best movies from the studio that goes beyond being a simple Shrek spin off movie sequel and I am HYPED for Kung Fu Panda 4 and Shrek 5, this isn’t pandering to nostalgia, this is continuing beloved stories with new ideas in mind.
ngl I want the wolves to breed me
Woah woah woah, I may be a boy but I’m the one whose gonna get breed by death u-u (I’m bi)
💀
Dreamworks is making soulless shit
I can't believe you forgot to mention the PEAK of Dreamworks shows in all this.
Camp Cretaceous is so good that I can't believe more people are talking about it.
Ruby Gillman is mid
Absolutely fantastic video! For me, I've always loved Dreamworks because, like you said, you never quite know what you're going to expect - but you always know it's, at the very least, going to be fun and relatively interesting. Hell, even Boss Baby had that "yes, I'm the baby Jesus" joke that made me cackle in the theatre.
I've also always admire that with Dreamworks, while their stories may range from cliche to deep, its characters are always just so incredibly endearing. Over the years as I grew from a kid to adult, I got incredibly attached to the Monsters from MvA, the cast of Megamind and, most recently, the Bad Guys. I've also had friends and online acquaintances get attached to characters like the Penguins of Madagascar or the Kung Fu Panda gang. There's a reason why so many of their movies end up getting TV shows and specials later on, they just do such a great job of making such lovable characters that you just wanna see them go on more adventures and interact with each other.
My favorite joke from the Boss Baby movie is when they’re trying to figure out how to get to Vegas.
I was with a friend at the time and I immediately joked with her. “Watch, it will be via an Elvis impersonator.”
Sure enough, down the escalator in the bright glow of cheesy, heavenly light, a whole band of Elvis impersonators 🤣 both our jaws dropped at how accurate my prediction was, and my friend accused me of reading it somewhere! Nope, I just knew the stereotype of Elvin impersonators in Vegas. She still accused me of being psychic 😂 ever since, that movie has a special place in my heart due to that wonderful memory. That, and the Netflix show was actually really entertaining 👍
Lets be real here, dreamworks will release a flop 2 years later, considering the hit or miss of DreamWorks.
For the Kung Fu Panda 4 thing, I don't remember the source, but I think I remember the director talking about the first 3 movies being Po's Journey to being a master, and then 4-6 being Po as a mentor to the next Dragon Warrior, as they had a plan for not just A sequel, but a trilogy, which makes me more hopeful for the series surprisingly.
I would love to read a book version of Puss in Boot & The Last Wish
Dreamworks made their mark years ago with the release of Prince of Egypt. Right out of the gate they established themselves as worthy rival to Disney, and while they may have made their fair share of lacklustre movies, I'd say that their heights are typically higher than what their more famous counterpart has achieved 😊
I honesty do hope that Dreamwork continues to move forward and not end up bein' a one-hit shot with Puss In Boots: The Last Wish otherwise; time It gonna repeat Itself when Disney did dominated them only to be overthrown gain, and the endless cycles continues wit their unlikely rivalry!
Have you heard that Shrek 5 is now in the works with talks with original casts returning. Finally, a donkey spinoff possibility.
And they're making Trolls 3 so they'll still be a mixed bag
6:06, I’ve done that.
Cartoonshi: Hold up.. let them cook
Dreamworks actually had the come back of the entire century when they released Puss in Boots 2 and it immediately became a fan favorite film, and one of their best to date, and than megamind 2 and the megamind spinoff show came out in 2024, and they fell off HARD most of their films were amazing shit kung fu panda is still amazing and pretty much all the dreamwork villian s are fucking fire, but it really is a hit or miss, cause they go from goated like kung fu panda to puss in boots 2, and other films like the new megamind films
It never had a comeback. They just released two good movie 2 years ago
It was not a comeback it was just one amazing film
