Its amazing to me how INCOMPETENT investigators can be. It was so obvious...and yet, they were LAZY. I mean really, really LAZY. And I'm not surprised at all, quite frankly. Most detectives couldn't detect their way out of a paper bag. Their "instincts" were completely wrong. And incompetence is being kind...really kind. Thank goodness for Lindsay. The whole family and the police owe her an apology...a HUGE apology!!!!
I agree. Without this new nosy gf of the brother, an innocent man could have been put in prison because of the sloppy, lazy, to prideful to ask for help local detectives.
There is a clip of a song Egypt sings throughout this Dateline episode. It begins 'Nobody knows where life goes...' and it's beautiful. Does anyone know if the whole song is out there somewhere?
This is an old case and the first time watching it a few years ago, I thought she was a narcissist. She made it more about her. She's extremely rude and acted like it was a game for her to play. Who the hell does she think she is to bring up the case during dinner to the parents when they barely know her.
It was on NBC last night & is on Peacock app now… TLDW - she lived in a duplex & the killers meant to rob the other unit while the occupants were on vacation. The guy who cut the grass at the duplex knew that the people grew medical marijuana; he gave the tip to family members to rob the unit while it was unoccupied. They broke into this woman’s unit by accident & killed her when she confronted them. It was 2 guys from Ohio (with face tattoos & braids) who literally went left when they were told to go right (& therefore entered the wrong unit). The cops & her father spent years thinking it was her ex boyfriend because he failed a polygraph test.
Such an unlikeable inner circle. The brother's girlfriend injecting herself like she's Sherlock. Seems more about her than Egypt. She got excited trying to be a detective.
Talk about entitlement. I'm not upset because the police didn't tell them anything when they asked. I'm still wondering how you had the gall to ask. You questioning neighbors. How they know you are not involved. This chick is playing an armchair detective. You are not even a crime writer. You just out the blue nosey. None of these people are supposed to talk to you. If you have questions when you first dating someone, if it's this serious, you might not need to date them. If you this ify about a potential mate that doesn't sound like a good chance. I'm just sitting back, scratching my head on this one.
@maryduvall9824 It's wasn't even just this case that made her want state police. If the department incompetent say that this made them look worse. The state police even said it they had this the whole time. If that's not incompetent, I don't know what is.
Just unbelievable the creeps lurking for this crime of opportunity to rape and kill women! We are in an insane world now! This really sickens me! Just horror 😫😖😨 Heartbroken 💔
Just going off what they said, nothing else. If they tell you FBI, we're involved, and you say call the state police. They need to really stop talking to you. Really! State police over FBI. Even if you thought they were lying, your recommendation over FBI is state police.
they should hire her for cold cases!

Where'd you go? The remix? It's a Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda song from the album Fort Myers.
“The Wrong Door” Dateline episode with a new name.
The girlfriend, Lindsay, was useful for the progression of the case, but MAN was she annoying.

Yeah but that’s what it took - someone like her to annoy the f out of them

Soooooooo…..if Lindsay didn’t get involved the boyfriend would still be in jail. Who cares how she did it, but she did!
@maryduvall9824 again Entitlement!

Looks like a man.
@@maryduvall9824she's still a narcissist. Just listen to how she talks, she made it into a personal game.
