    Definitely learn from my mistakes here. I'll be sure to avoid performing flat spins near the hangars again. It's just not worth the risk to property - either the hangars or my jets.

    I was an F-15 crew chief with the 33rd FW for seven years and worked on 85-102 many times. Both peacetime and in Desert Storm. So naturally, I had to have this model as well. I added the Dreamworks modulating electric brakes to it for incredible stopping power on the ground, but they do add considerable weight to it. It still flies scale fast so it’s good enough for me.
    To answer your question about the stabs. Yes, the real Eagle has differential stabs that work very similar to the model, but not as drastic on throws you’ve got set on yours. Also, the flaps are either up or down. There’s no other settings in between. I think down is around 35 degrees and is used on takeoff.
    I think the speed brake feature on the model is pretty close to the real one too, but a little slow. Still neat though. It’s a pretty impressive jet considering it’s made of foam. Details are pretty close.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 года назад +1

      I figured it did. I can't imagine the full scale acting as a dogfighter without differential stabs. It would get out-turned easily by other fighters from its era. I know my throws are crazy, though - but that's why I have them! I get way more performance out of the model this way. Thanks for the info!

    Awesome model, it flies, not like a hammer with EDF, but it namely flies, floats beautifully! I didn't expect. Just an eye-opener. I look in the first place atthe landing process. I converted mine to 8s. Using the 4075 1390kv motor from motion RC. Even at that power system, she feels a bit underpowered in my opinion. Flies good though. But comparing it to my F22 and F4 (8s both) from motion RC, for some reason the F15 feels a little sluggish specially on climbout and loops.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 года назад

      I've never personally seen the appeal of adding more weight to the wings in the form of a heavier motor, heavier ESC, and extra batteries. The amount of additional wing loading you're creating will add more thrust, theoretically, but at the cost of a model that stalls easier at any airspeed and isn't as agile.
      With regard to sluggishness, could it be a throw mismatch between the jets? My F-15 has no problems with thrust or climbout on 6s - just a little slower than I'd prefer - and I can whip it around easily with max throws.

    • @richard4559
      @richard4559 2 года назад +1

      @@TwoBrosRC Thanks for all the Info. Yeah I did work on calibrating the ESC as best to my knowledge and made sure the throttle throw on my Radio was correctly set up. I flew it yesterday and I think is getting better and better every time. I'm still working on adjusting the gains for Landing and Cruise. I'm using damping mode 100% gain for landing and heading hold (Lower Gain) for fast flying and maneuvers. The Jeti Assist receiver/gyro is amazing. I'm using that gyro on the F22 and the thing almost hovers in upwind.

    • @dbirds21

      @@TwoBrosRC I agree. I just made my 90mm f22 from 6s to a 8s 1500kv fms fan. I will be switching back to 6s. The gains are not worth the added weight. Your much better upgrading to a more effecient lighter fan unit and motor than adding more weight with batteries.

      That shouldn't be a problem. I'd check your antenna placement. 9/10 times it's not optimized for quality reception. Wiring is in the way, antennas aren't secured, antennas aren't cross-polarized, etc. Adding a remote receiver is a cheap way to provide insurance though.

    Hace como diez años construí varios parkjets de los de Steve Shumate, aunque cambia do las alas planas por alas con costillas y noté particularmente en el f15 que tenia balanceo holandés, algo que veo en el modelo de este video, será una particularidad del formato y aerodinámica propia del modelo ?
    Ahora estoy viendo si me queda algo de electrónica aropiada para construir el F14 que me ha ia quedado pendiente, y luego hacer uno más grande para cuando nuestra economia reflote y pueda adquirir baterías más grandes, edf, y trenes de aterrizaje retráctiles, ya vendrán tiempos mejores
