This felt longer than it was. Great breakdown and explanation of what we want. This is just my opinion, but BF3 had something that BF4 didn’t have. It was dirtier ,grimier, grittier, etc. BF3 was the greatest multiplayer game I’ve ever played.
Yes the gunplay was the main focus point. The weapon variety between all classes, not relying on gadgets, and decent map designs fit for most engagements. Sadly ea/dice has alienated players throughout the years and it started with dice La breaking gunplay for bf4 to cater to the minority.
@@johngood7619 You nailed it. The best rush vehicle in my opinion was the Amtrak. I LOVED driving that thing. So many people would just ram it into the M-COMM and let it get destroyed because they didn’t learn its strengths and weaknesses so they could keep it alive for an entire match. BF4 Amtrak was not as fun. I was so disappointed.

The first red flag is the global setting. The best Battlefield campaigns all had a connection between their locations other than "the plot happens here". NATO vs a PMC? Yikes.
I mean, considering groups like Wagner exist and operate on a global scale means that they aren’t too far off. Russia uses Wagner to take care of shit that the government can distance themselves from. Take with that what you will.
I enjoyed bf4 very much, but bf3, something about it. To me it looked more real. Then again bf3 was my first online Battlefield experience. I didn't understand at first but especially later on I had friends to help me and dude, the memories of laughing our asses off, getting angry at metro, everything. I made one of my best friends from back then. He treated me like little brother, constantly giving me hell but he knew when to let me know like hey man, it's all in good fun, I love you. It was a great time I'm happy to have the memories
Personally one of the biggest problems with modern shooters is that Devs focus on the competitive scene, with all these metas for guns, attachments and perks. I just want to come home and play, not study a 50 page web article on what perks or attachments give me that 0.01% advantage. I'd be happy with the Battlefield 2 style, where there was no advantages with perks or attachments, it was only based on your personal skill with a chosen weapon.
I liked the way 2042 did it. It's simple and easy to understand. It's also amazing that I'm able to switch scopes/ammo types on the fly. It brings a bit more realism to the game.
I’m so glad that Zampella is taking the helm of battlefield. Just look at his track record- Modern Warfare, Titanfall, Apex Legends. Guy is a titan of the industry and I think BF6 is gonna be a classic
I'll be honest, I'm not exited about a battlefield 4.5, id be more excited about bf3.5 or bfbc2.5, most emphasis on bf3. Bf4 was good and it has aged well but I really thought bf4 was taking multiple steps back from bf3. it was a true masterpiece.
I love the fact that the community has come to the consensus that Battlefield 4.5 is a fitting term for our dream game. It's pretty much exactly what we and the franchise need to happen for Battlefield to not die
No, just you always online losers want that. The majority of people want the game to evolve and grow, not stagnate on gameplay from 10+ years ago. Also the battlefield “community” should be the last people listened to, nothing but the biggest crybabies exist with there. Go outside touch grass and stop crying about video games
I’m cautiously optimistic now which is a miracle because I wasn’t even looking forward to this game at all originally. Reason being is that Vince Zampella is attached to the project. He’s a big name in the FPS scene so it gives me some hope it’ll be good. Regardless, don’t pre-order and don’t take the reveal trailer as what the gameplay will be like.
Yes two armies going head to head is good. Although it should not been some "PMCs" or terrorist etc. It needs to be clear, real world countries just like earlier. Russia vs. NATO, China vs. USA in Pacific etc. PMCs could be DLC like awesome "Special Forces" was with legendary Battlefield 2. No fantasy pkease but real life countries in fictional modern conflict.
couldnt agree more. this was really annoying in 2042. they dont have the balls anymore to reference the real world because they are afraid to offend some people.
Definitely not falling for it after the failure of 2042. I’ve learned my lesson after getting hyped for 2042 trailer. They gonna put 80% of their money on the marketing and 20% on the actual development. I’m gonna wait for review and full release if it’s a flop then Rip battlefield for the third time. If it’s an actual Giga Chad and classic masterpiece I’ll be fainting on the cheese floor. Anyways nice vid ;)
At least they've not been developing during covid, which had a huge impact on 2042s botched release. As in, 2020 was the year of the hero shooter/operator shooter, so they changed it to that from a gritty BF4-but-set-in-the-future style game (as you can see in the early early concept art). This time, there's no excuse.
US is a part of NATO, bro. SMH. You guy's will buy this shit and as long as you do, they'll keep making shit games. Don't fall for it. Wait til it comes out and check the reviews.
A war between NATO and a Mercenary company. Even though it’s a leak, I kinda hope it’s true as that could mean we get more than just American and Russian equipment to play with. Maybe even different vehicles depending on where the map is set.
US was EU, EU vs RU, RU vs CN, CN vs US maps. The only way I see Europe actually paying for a military is if they break away from the USD and SWFT hegemony, and it just makes a novel concept, like Tom Clancy's EndWar
@@NYG5 EndWar is almost exactly what I was expecting from this, setting wise. The deal might be a group of mercenaries funded by Russia and China, but they take on an anti-superpower cause instead of just an anti-western one. Might draw in more nations and bodies that way for them to actually have the ability to take on NATO in open warfare. BF2 also had EU in a dlc with a couple maps fighting China and MEC.
The difference about this coming from Vince is that he has never missed on any game he has released. Zero. This is what gives me hope for the outcome of this game. Vince was Activision's golden child until they got greedy after MW2 and started to control his creativity over Call of Duty, and EA gives him free reign to do whatever he wants creativity wise, thats why he works at EA. I think he's about to turn Battlefield into his new legacy game, since COD was his baby. Here's a list of the games he's produced: Medal of honor: Allied Assault Call of Duty 1 Call of Duty 2 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Titanfall Titanfall 2 Apex Legends Jedi - Fallen Order Jedi - Survivor EA DICE Sweden's new studio director Rebecka Coutaz, also has some great titles she's lead back in Ubisoft, all titles launched without major problems. I think this new version of DICE is gonna mop up the FPS sphere. All of that old blood was uninspired and tired of making Battlefield, got complacent and egotistical. Still, DO NOT PREORDER.
All of these are promises we've gotten before and all i can do is eyeroll. I don't understand how fans are excited for a game we've yet to seen shit of.
Game development used to be about making a decent game that was fun and bug free. Now its about making a game that they can break into bits to sell piece mail and an experience that's just good enough to play and just bad enough to incentivise microtransactions.
4:37 ''I can't identify those tanks from that angle'' Bruh The grills on the back of the hull clearly indicate that it is future variation of M1 Abrams, thus it is American tank. Pretty easily identifiable if someone has played BF3/4 before.
They need to show gameplay on the first day of the reveal. Cinematic trailers are cool and all but the trust in the community is very low and they need to reassure us that they can make a good game that, at least, looks like it plays well. As well as the tone and graphics of the game are appropriate with the setting of the war and conflicts going on. No more quirky dialogues like 2042 at launch please for the love of god.
Im delusional but I really hope DICE makes a bf3 like campaign for the next battlefield. A campain where you're not a super soldier, you're just a soldier telling what you saw and did. A game where the protagonsit is fragile like every human.
I unfourtunately was one of the pre-order victims for 2042. This game has to be amazing with amazing graphics, amazing animations, amazing maps, and amazing technology before I even think of opening my wallet
People keep talking about how the 2042 trailer was great and how the game launch was a dissapointment. I'll tell you what's a good game trailer, the BF3 multiplayer reveal trailer. Why? It actually shows the game. Not some pre rendered ultra hype machine cinematic with tornadoes and explosions. Keep it simple ffs
I don't know how you managed to make a well edited, well researched video with interesting thoughts in such a short period of time, but you did it, great job !
I'll be a bit disappointed if the conflict ends up being is nato vs a made up faction. I guess having russia, iran and china as the opposition is still a no go. But well we won't really know until we actually see what the game will be about
They're taking a gamble trying to make another Battlefield game in general after that shit show. I'm done caring about what EA does at this point. I still play Battlefield 4 on PC and it's a great game. It's exactly what I want. I don't have to wait around for EA to try and recreate it. I assume that everything EA says is a lie until it's proven otherwise. Even if they are making a Battlefield 4.5, I bet they're going to find a way to completely fuck it up and ruin everything.
Can I get a Battlefield/shooter where I don't see people with candy colored guns and weird costumes? Can it have semi-realistic mobility where the characters aren't flying around/sliding/drop-shotting/or whatever with stupidly high degrees of accuracy? Can I get a smaller player count so that it feels like my squad's contribution actually means something rather than getting steam-rolled by 20 guys at once when they finally decide to recap Bravo? Can we make suppression and MGs great again so that the sniper I'm lighting up doesn't just turn around and 1-tap me?
1000% agree. But companies don’t seem to realize that just because fornite is a success doesn’t mean we need some bright odd out of place skins in a modern shooter. Example: CALL OF DUTY 😂
They could add a shop, battlepass, skins, etc. BUT leave away the meme, colourful and unrealistic skins to COD and Fortnite, and go with a militaristic skins theme. Seeing a colourful character entering is My Littlw Pony tank breaks immersion and ruins the experience. BF3-4 sold easily without all that and had character skins and vehicle skins reassembling real-life camo.
Extremely low quality standards. We're simply getting bf3/4 recycled and that's it. People are losing their minds over being able to replay games that have been out for 10+ years lol.
I would much rather prefer if they would go back to the premiun system instead of the battlepass. Yes it cost as much as the game, but you are guaranteed quality content as we saw in the games that had it
You know what I really want AI to do in games? Maps generation. For every battle, every round. Just like Helldiver 2. You never find the same map. It’s immersive since there are so many planets and lands to set foot on. None of them should look familiar.
I really hope a battle pass and skins dont ruin the feeling and aesthetic of the game. That's one thing I liked about battlefield 4 was each side having specific gear and soliders that gave them a certain look and character. Modern warfare 2019 was the first call of duty I really enjoyed in years but after a while they had the ramp the skins so people would buy them and it didnt take long until everyone was bright colors and shooting lazers. Dont even get me started on the other modern modern warfares.
All I ever want is to jump back into BF3. For me, it was the best. A jump up from Bad Company but wasn’t so clumped up like BF4. Don’t get me wrong. BF4 looked great but felt a bit slow and too much. Flares were very good though. Loved the lighting in BF4 but it wasn’t that crisp grit that BF3 had. All I wish for at my age is to throw a band at a new BF3. Just the way it was. It was perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
That would be awesome. Then it could put some actual sense into how 2042 global catastrophe happened. I'm a story lore guy and the fact that 2042 completely abandoned the "plot" pissed me off.

This is the most accurate statement ive seen in a while
for what? you didn't learn your lesson with the past 2 bf installments to NOT be hyped? ok be disapointed. like i'm sorry but your doing it to yourself at this point.

BF2 was great. I dont think BF3 or 4 came close to what BF2 was. As long as I don't get anything woke I am happy. But, I am sure they will find something to put in the single player.
There is a reason why spend around 600 hours of bf1, go back to that formula

,grimier, grittier, etc.
If I had a competent gunner, easily top 1 and 2 on the scoreboard, and most importantly, a W on Rush. That thing was so damned good. So many people would just ram it into the M-COMM and let it get destroyed because they didn’t learn its strengths and weaknesses so they could keep it alive for an entire match. BF4 Amtrak was not as fun. I was so disappointed.

@@sealboy1211 it's kinda disgusting tbh like how can anyone still get excited for this bullshit. The last 4 games have been fucking awful.
This guy gets it
Yeah I was fine with the respective default service rifles we got in BF2 lol.
I liked the way 2042 did it. It's simple and easy to understand. It's also amazing that I'm able to switch scopes/ammo types on the fly. It brings a bit more realism to the game.

Battlefield 3.5 fr fr
No, just you always online losers want that. The majority of people want the game to evolve and grow, not stagnate on gameplay from 10+ years ago.
Also the battlefield “community” should be the last people listened to, nothing but the biggest crybabies exist with there. Go outside touch grass and stop crying about video games
Yeah call it battlefield 2034
There should be PMC factions in some maps like there was ANZAC factions on a few BF1 maps. But they should be fighting for specific nations like irl

@chlorhexidine2506 u have an inferiority complex, as most of the world does with the U.S.A
US was EU, EU vs RU, RU vs CN, CN vs US maps.
Here's a list of the games he's produced:
Medal of honor: Allied Assault
Call of Duty 1
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Titanfall
Titanfall 2
Apex Legends
Jedi - Fallen Order
Jedi - Survivor
EA DICE Sweden's new studio director Rebecka Coutaz, also has some great titles she's lead back in Ubisoft, all titles launched without major problems.
Better have a bf1 operations type game mode too. Conquest is core battlefield but I love the tighter map boundaries of operations so much
Game development used to be about making a decent game that was fun and bug free. Now its about making a game that they can break into bits to sell piece mail and an experience that's just good enough to play and just bad enough to incentivise microtransactions.

I really hope a battle pass and skins dont ruin the feeling and aesthetic of the game. Modern warfare 2019 was the first call of duty I really enjoyed in years but after a while they had the ramp the skins so people would buy them and it didnt take long until everyone was bright colors and shooting lazers. Dont even get me started on the other modern modern warfares.
It needs the heart and soul of Battlefield 1 mixed with the core gameplay and fun of BF3 and BF4. They do that and they are literally back in the game
Perfect. Perfect.
They could make a WAR mode where every battle you win matters in a grander scale war.
