A few things i think should be added: A practicing music animation Upload the concert backing track to Spotify on RUclips Add new regions like Asia, South America, Africa, Oceania New vehicles such as tour bus. A type of news article system, which would include news about attitudes, hot songs, and what's happening in the world around you.
This game is such an amazing concept and it's amazing you're still working on it. Didn't see this update coming at all, but a pleasant surprise. Keep killing it, would love for you to open up to the steam workshop as much as I'm sure that's a pain. Would be awesome to see what the community would add/create for this game.
Instead of using Steam workshop, the game has its own user-generated content feature, accessible from the Settings screen. As of now, you can add gallery art, map cities, and attitudes. At this point there is no way to for players to add complex 3D objects.
Todd, I just want to let you know I firmly believe you are at the top of all developers out there. You care about your product, and you care about your customers. I truly hope that rising star blows up and you make millions as you deserve it. Thanks so much for the continued work and for keeping us updated. Love these vids. Thanks sir!
I bought the game earlier today after watching a RUclips video and streamed it to quite a few friends on Discord. They all participated and got really into it and now quite a few of them have bought it or plan to buy it. Thanks for continuing to develop the game and I hope it continues long into the future because the game is really fun.
Tour crew(roadies), lights and sound equipements for concerts, tour vehicle(bus, limo, etc), tour caravan(trucks), concert chorist and hired musicians, buy songs rights from others, concert memorabilia like posters and programs, special events and festivals, FAN'S CLUB.
Been playing the game for a couple months and im hooked. For sure my favorite comfort/relaxation game right now. Glad to see more updates coming out and cant wait for what is next
This looks awesome a couple things I’d like to add is a feature to have a musician be a vocalist as well as a instrumentalist, where you could pick what genre your band wants to go in/album and song genres, features or collabs with other bands, and maybe some more band type drama of some sort but again thank you for this awesome update much appreciated
In the last two years I played this game a lot, and I enjoyed a lot! Thanks for that, and I would like if you make this one even better, or make another one with such/similar interesting theme! Cheers from Belgrade, Serbia!
If you're continuing a save from the previous version, existing gigs will have been booked with the old calculations for audience draw, which were higher at low popularity. New gigs should be booked more appropriately for your current draw based on the new calculations.
Woah, you designed this game 100% by yourself?? There are so many layers to the mechanics! Your industry knowledge is MINDBLOWING. Respect, and thank you! Thanks for the updates, the usability is key! (Help wanted access, SO GRATEFUL!) Time for me to check out the game again. And good call re: allowing us to retain managers across regions (which is what is realistic for any talent, music or otherwise); plus more flexibility in booking tours! Also yes, more common sense that with the internet and phone you shouldn't have to physically visit a manager. (I also noticed pre-update that my original manager's Rep did increase as my own talent did!) Requests: Wider variety of clothes, art, and home interiors, please. :) Also, super adorable and realistic that we can destroy hotel rooms for "stress relief" on tour!!
This is some good stuff to add to the game! I'd be particularly interested in whether or not you could try and go fully independent, as in possibly creating a feature where you could start your own label. You could add elements of distribution, radio stations, label staff, and the ability to sign other bands in the game to add an additional stream of revenue. you can give budgets to the bands and let them create records that you can sell in the game. Either found the label from the beginning to stay fully independent (Dischord style) or make the label once you're big enough. Another feature that would be cool is if you could create your own music festival, in a sort of Perry Farrell/Lollapalooza style. These are very large-scale features to implement, so I wouldn't expect them to be implemented or this in-depth, but i just thought they might be interesting.
God, I love this game. It feels like I only get enjoyment out of sims like this and Journey of Wrestling, so I'm happy that it's constantly being worked on. I couldn't figure out how to hire crew members (didn't even think to look in the band profile lol), so I'm also very thankful that you post these videos lol I've put 200 hrs into this game between three bands; but I'm only just finding out about this, and the fact that I can create/download additional attitudes. I'm not great at picking up on things, as you can probably tell from this paragraph lol All that to say, I'm now a fan, and I can't wait to see what's next :)
Not played this in ages. The new update looks pretty cool. I'd rather the popularity b on a genre of bands rather than song meanings. In reality I don't start liking a band or disliking a band just because they've written about hate. In the 80s and 90s we went through genres of music like hair metal, grunge and nu metal. That would be a better way of implementing popularity. Also single releases by the label and magazine reviews of albums would be awesome. Keep up the good work 👏
Others it has trouble starting gigs in the arana, due to the new crew members. I have hired one of each but cannot start my tours because of this. I get a message with I need to hire the new members. I fire those I have, to hire someone new from the list. but it still says so
love it but i think i would want it to be easier to get a manager. to play for that long just to be able to tour. atleast let us get a really bad manager for like 0.20 popularity. besides that i love it keep up the great work
You can easily get to 1.0 popularity by busking. Plus it gives you free playing skill points. Use that popularity to help win battles, which give you more popularity. You can do both those things almost immediately in the game.
Good stuff Todd. You've been kickin' it hard, I see. Since this is the first update in a while, and I haven't been playing since at least October, what is the status of some of the other planned stuff, like "merch tables" and "autograph signings" and etc.?
I think it would be cool if you would add tattoos (like sleeves and neck tattoos)and different hairstyles for men. I love this game but I've always felt it's kind of lacking in the creation department.
Thanks for the comment. Tattoos may make it in some day. I don't think the game is lacking in the creation department overall though. • 47 customizable body traits • 45 hairstyles • 27 facial hair options • 10 eyebrows • 42 pairs of glasses • 31 footwears • 38 gloves/wristbands • 91 hats • 144 pants/shorts/skirts • 8 masks • 36 coats/jackets • 19 underwear bottoms • 26 stockings/leggings • 21 bras • 9 eye makeup options (not counting customizable colors) • 12 face makeup options • 4 variations of camouflage face paint, plus solid color (customizable) • 7 mouth makeup options (with variations on several of them) • 657 equipment models • 94 van paint jobs • 13 mouse pointer options • 5 different homes • 41 pieces of art to decorate homes, plus the ability to add your own • Ability to hang guitars, awards, art, and custom imported images as decorations in homes • Ability to customize attitudes • Ability to customize maps by adding cities • 525 built-in graphical elements for designing custom banners, CD's, and t-shirts • Ability to import your own graphics to customize banners, CD's, and t-shirts in any way • 4 band photo locations, each with various camera angles and lighting options • Ability to customize the soundtrack with any songs you want • Ability to auto-generate original lyrics There might be more... but that's a good start. Remember, I'm a one-man team. :D
I'd like different hairstyles for men though. Alot of that stuff is for female characters. Like I said I love this game. But I want more stuff for men characters.
Please add more languages to the game, if I could play it in Spanish it would be great for me for example, and thank you very much for the game because it's great!!!
So I played the hell out of ROCKSTAR! back in the day, and thought that this game would be similar. I.. like it sort of? I mean it's not what I was looking for but it's not bad, glad to see it's still getting updated. I'm more of a "spreadsheet management" sort of player when it comes to this sort of sim and I don't think it exists/could exist but I'd like if some of the walking around/driving around could be optional. I want to focus on management not moving about. Games more like Gear City, the old Gamebiz Megacorp, Carbiz, Island Bizz, stuff like that. Though I totally get that's not what sells for most people. Don't get me wrong, game is fantastic and I highly recommend it to folks, it's just not what I was looking for.
Hey, glad you checked it out. A lot of Rising Star 2 players are actually like you, and I have actually considered making an option to skip the 3D environments. There's actually an option to do that but only for venues at this point. I haven't figured out how to replace the side jobs with something useful that you could do to earn money in the early game without driving around the city.
@@Gillissie Honestly what I would recommend is something even like adding in a "buss pass" where you can pay x money for a buss pass in the early game and just go direct to the side job from a list but the downside is it costs a little bit of money each month.
@@Gillissie Also: do you guys have any intention of adding 4:3 aspect ratio support? I'm not expecting it and I don't know how hard it'd be but It would be nice.
Hello. If you think you've come across a bug, please report it using the in-game bug reporter on the Settings screen, and be sure to fill in a valid e-mail address so I can reply.
Do CD's have more realistic charting? Before when attitudes would change your CD could drop hundreds of spots in one week due to songs no longer being of the right attitude.
A drastic attitude shift can certainly affect CD sales in a big way. As an example in real life, the grunge era essentially killed the 80's style party rock bands almost overnight.
@@Gilligames-Todd So true, but with that being said, would it not make more sense to have attitudes last a bit longer than they currently do? Also, without having fired up the game in a while, and especially since this update, I noticed a lot of new crew, did you include security too? This crew seems to be a bit more important than some of the others imo.
@@derekwalker4622 The length of an attitude's popularity is random. Sometimes people complain that it seems like they never change. Also, the new version now has a permanent attitude for each area, so overall there is less change due to that. There isn't currently security, but that could be added in the future.
Unfortunately for me, the games is now unplayable. Been playing every day for months. Very first time practicing, the game locked up. Reloaded locked up. Reloaded, skipped practice, once the week ended, it locked up. Too bad
I'm afraid this isn't likely to get done. There are still a lot of game features that I plan on adding, so including VR support wouldn't fit into the schedule.
I love the game, the only thing I think it's missing is the EP and Singles being released by the recording lable, and not by us
A few things i think should be added:

Thanks. For genres, it's really up to you to role-play. You can use the attitudes to play as any genre you want that matches certain attitudes.
YAY, Super amazing Todd!
I love the fact that you kept on updating the game.
