I don’t think anyone really understands the powers of his lyrics, he told a story about a woman called Jenny. But he worked a way to talk about young children being criminals and killing for food. Same with Money Game ‘turns a saint into a sinner, and a child into a killer’ this man has a very deep and accurate idea of what the world is really like. It’s brilliant how he made Jenny’s tale, from Jenny’s perspective of the mugging. Then sang about Screeches perspective of the mugging
Theory: All of Ren's songs is somehow connected
I was born and lived almost all of my life in Venezuela and yes, this is a huge reality, thankfully my family didn't suffer too much from the economic crisis there but things like this aren't uncommon at all, for example my phone was one stolen by two women while their kids were with them, it happened literally in the middle of the mall i was at, and honestly I can't blame them, I just hope they got somehing out of it. I lived in a state called anzoategui, near the shore, and I also knew a family that lived in this place called "Barrio de los Pescadores", which kind of translates into Fishermen's town, there, many people had to fish for hours every day and sell it just to get some money and maybe get to eat once or twice a day, living in makeshift houses made of debris and wood,things like this aren't uncommon to see in Venezuela right now, and things just keep getting worse there

American folk music and real hip hop, two great storytelling genres
There's plenty of storytelling type songs, especially around here in Asia. Ren is great, he's an artist that I've never seen in western music.

People are commenting on how all this songs are connected years ago, then Violet's tale gets released, and it surpasses the first two tales, as well as connects them. Honestly, Violet's Tale is a masterpiece.
I came to Jenny's tale from Violets Tale - wrong way around from the intended release but it still works and has blown me away. If anything, watching Violet's tale first hides the twist from the other two stories even better as it hangs over those two performances.
Ren is a phenomenon.

@bob dunson It's simple. I, for example, am from Brazil, so my ears aren't sharp enough to catch every word he sings. Besides that, it becomes so much easier to read the lyrics in the comments of the video rather than having to search for it on another website.

Just happened to stumble across this and Jens Tale - how incredibly refreshing. I can't really think of any artist this reminds me of, and that's a good thing. It's got a bit of a Yungblud meets George the Poet meets fucking Robert Fayrfax vibe going on. Genuinely some of the most captivating music I've ever come across. Bravo.

@@jakeil7912 I disagree. At this stage ren doesn't need people covering a song that's just been written. Especially not an off tab cover to the note. If you knew the chords however you could use the scales to pull off a near exact copy in your own style

This is SOOOO good! I loved the "first part" of the story and it is so cool how it's a song but also feels like a really creepy fairytale. The cinematography, the lyrics, the way you sing/narrate and play the guitar is unlike anything I've ever seen before!
