    The first and possibly ONLY video of this machine, that relies on drumming skills as opposed to playing along with samples.
    Fine playing!
    This is exactly what I would want this for.

      Well Tuanngo I DO NOT Think U Have 2 Be "BRAND SPECIFIC" aka (Yamaha Pedal with Yamaha Unit, Roland Pedal With Roland Unit, or Alesis Pedal With Alesis Unit, etc.) For The Most Part NE Pedal From NE Manufacturer Should Work With NE Drum Unit!!! There May Be A Few Quirky 1's Here & There That WILL NOT Work For Some Krazy Reason, But Most Of 2day's Gear Iz Universal..., So Itz Simply "PLUG & PLAY!!!" There Are 1/4 Jacks On The Back Of The Unit, 1 Is For A Hi-Hat Pedal & The Other Iz 4 The Kick Drum Pedal. Just Plug Them In & Away U Go, No Special Programming Required!!!

    Came for the Alesis; stayed for the calm, soothing voice. Truthfully, I was going to ask your opinion about whether this would be a good first purchase for someone whom has never played the drums. Would I be a bother to ask?
    Edit: I just read your replies to the other posts, so now I know more. I read "Polk Audio Subwoofer." This is going to cost me a fortune, isn't it? lol

    • @TheBrotherALJ
      @TheBrotherALJ  2 года назад +1

      No Bother At All Betty, But As A 1st Purchase It Depends What You're Really LQQKIN' 4??? As A Drummer If I Wanted 2 Buy Electronic Drums I Would Buy The More Xpensive Electronic Drum Kit That You Sit Inside Of The Way You Do A Real Drum Kit. It Would Have All The Different Pieces (snare drum, kick drum, tom toms, cymbals) Just Like An Acoustic Drum Kit But It Plugs In As An Electronic Kit. This Kit Would Be Xpensive & They Start Around $600 Going All The Way Up To Like $6,000 Depending On What U Get. Here's A Link To Check One Out!!! ruclips.net/video/I9BdpdzR9AY/видео.html
      The Pads U See Me Playing In This Video Are DEFINITELY Fun & A Much Cheaper Option. Depending On UR Sound System (yes, i have a subwoofer in mine's) Will Help It Sound That Much Better. The Good Thing??? U Don't Need A Subwoofer Or Speakers 4 That Matter As U Can Always Just Plug UR Headphones Into It & Rock The Night Away Grooving By Yourself. I Would Recommend Purchasing 2 Foot Pedals Though (one for your bass drum sound & one for the hi-hat). You can play them both from the pads, but in order to get that real four-limbed drummer feel, the pedals will help give you that. So U Can Spend A Lot Or A Little & Still Have The Same Amount Of Fun.

      @@TheBrotherALJ Wow, you are such a cool person. Thank you for your kind reply. Okay, let me go to the link so I can delve into this. I do want that four limbed feeling, too. You hit the nail right on the head. I’m thinking to spend about a grand, but I’ll have to wait on some of it. It’s just that I have wanted to do this for years. If I don’t get to it, well, I’m 64. • @TheBrotherALJ
      @TheBrotherALJ  11 месяцев назад

      OMG!!! I Loved The Old Kat Drum Pad Unit With The Lil' Ears At The Top When I 1st Got It!!! After It Died..., The Only Thing That Kept Working Was The Bass Drum Pedal, So I Held On 2 It After All These Years.
      The Hi-Hat Pedal Iz A No Brand Name Unit..., That I Picked Up Off Of Amazon. It Says It Iz Model# PDL-HH191. These Type Of Units Are Designed 2 Work With NE Basic Trigger Type Pedal, So U Can Get Whichever 1 U Like & Away You Go!!!

    • @dankenton
      @dankenton 11 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yeah, I loved Kat - I had the original with the kitty-cat looking bass drum pad, the Turbo XT and the Trapkat which looked like a stealth fighter, lol. Dauz was another great maker of pads and triggers. Since you know the feel of the Kat pads, how would you say the Alesis Sample Pad Pro surface feels compared to that? Are they as sensitive as the Kat stuff? How loud are they when you're hitting them? I'm looking at the Alesis as a playing surface only since I run everything through software so the feel and responsiveness is what I'm after....without having to spend too much of course, lol@@TheBrotherALJ

      @@dankenton As A Baby Boomer, I Never Wanted 2 Be 1 Of Those "The Muzak From My Era Sounds So Much Better Than The Crap This Generation Lissens 2" Type!!! So I Feel The Same Way About The Evolution Of Equipment As The Tymes & Technology Changes 2 Make Each ERA Equally As Relevant.
      As An Ole Skool Dude, I LOVED The Feel Of The Old KitKat Pads As As They Had Quite A Bit Of Rebound In Them Per My Taste. The Alesis Sample Pro Pad's Seem To Be Thicker, But Give A Similar Rebound Feel. Itz Better Than Playing On A Practice Pad, But Not As Sexxxy As Playing On A Roland Electronic Drum Kit Mesh Head.
      As Far As The Sensitivity Goes, I Find That I Have Go Into The Internal Settings 2 Adjust My Snare Drum/Bass Drum Velocities 2 Help Balance Out The Sound 4 How I Play Them. This Allows Me The Ability 2 Tweak Them Per My Taste.
      1nce I Make Those Adjustments I Can Play The Pads Accordingly 2 Make Them Feel The Way I Hear Them Sounding In My Head.

    Hi. Very nice drumming. Do you set 2 pads for the Hi-hat (one open and one closed)? or does your Hi-hat pedal open and close to make the "swoosh" sound (choking)? I just ordered this Alesis. I played my friend's and loved the sound but couldn't get the Hi-hat pedal to choke. Thanks.

    • @TheBrotherALJ
      @TheBrotherALJ  Год назад

      Thanxxx & Great Question Jill!!! This Iz How I Typically Use It. On The Unit Itself I Have A Pad Set Up 4 A Closed Hi-Hat Sound & A Pad Set Up 4 An Open Hi-Hat Sound. If I Bounce Up & Down On The Hi-Hat Pedal I Can Get That Chunka-Chunka Sound As If UR Keeping Quarter Notes With UR Left Foot Whilst UR Groovin'. Or I Can Hit The Closed Hi-Hat Pad With My Foot On The Pedal, Then Lift It Up 2 Get That Traditional Open Hi-Hat Sound As U Would On A Real Drum Set. I Was Actually Impressed With How Responsive The Unit Was & Well It Worked!!! I Would Suggest U Xperiment 2 Get The Feel That U Think Iz Right 4 U!!! I Would However Recommend U DEFINITELY Get Both A Hi-Hat & Bass Drum Pedal Rather Than Play Them Off The Pads With Sticks In UR Hand. This Way U Capture The Feel As U Would Do Sitting Down At A Regular Drum Set!!!

      Decaen, Itz Not Really All That Loud. I Made It That Loud Bcuz I Have Speakers & A Subwoofer Connected Up 2 My System Cause I Wanted U 2 Feel That THUMP!!! You Could Do 2 Things 2 Appease UR Neighbors. #1 You Simply DO NOT Have 2 Play It As Loudly As I Did, So Just By Turning Down The Volume That Could Help You Out. But Even More Importantly #2 Bcuz It Iz An Electronic Unit U Can Actually Plug Headphones Into It Thereby Not Having The Volume Go Out Live Thru UR Speakers. The Only Thing UR Neighbors Would Hear Then Iz The Sound Of U Hitting The Pads With The Sticks. Kind Of Like If You Were Hitting UR Sticks Against UR Kitchen Table. Just A Lil' Sumthin' Sumthin' 2 Think About In Case UR In The Market & Thinking About Going Electronic. Don't Let My LOUD AZZ Drumming Throw U Off!!! ROFLMAO!!!

      @@TheBrotherALJ hey man, thanks for the reply. I actually did mean the hits on the thing. It sounds like hitting wood. It’s sounds like someone hammering when you listen to it outside my flat.
      I had a mesh drum kit, and was a lot quieter.
      Now Ive moved to a new place, and have less space so I look for an alternative in these little things.
      I am a heavy hitter 😂
      But I will give it a go, maybe put some kind of layer on top of the pads, but before that I have to check if Thomanns Nonapad supports a kick tower with piezo trigger..
      It costs like half of the alesis , and seems pretty good for the price.
