In today’s video we answer your most burning questions regarding our latest album “WHY?”, its creation process, its music videos and the meaning behind some of the songs. What was the inspiration behind certain songs? Which songs were the most difficult to write? Who is “I Bought Myself a Politician” about?
Every week, over at the MLT Club, we release something exclusive. Sometimes that’s behind-the-scenes videos, sometimes it’s an early release, sometimes it’s a vlog or sometimes it’s a Q&A video like the one we’re sharing today. We do these quite regularly and hardly skip any questions, so if you too want to have your questions answered, we kindly invite you to become an MLT Club member and contribute to the next Q&A.

These young ladies exude talent, intelligence, humbleness and are very exciting in their art. I have a dance variety cover band so I study their presentation so I can be a better performance artist myself. Every generation there's a special human occurrence, the stars align perfectly and MLT is an awesome example of this. Thank You!

I'm amazed at how much the Twins do on a daily basis! There's sooo much in the MLT Club, with constant videos and so much going on. Not only are they music mavens, they are experts when it comes to photography, lighting, sound, videography, etc., etc. 🤯 I'm really amazed. I absolutely love this “WHY?” CD. There are lots of surprises on it that I hadn’t heard on RUclips, and every song is a delight!
The reason their recording ‘indepenedence’ is working is because of their huge talent and enchanting personalities.
Thanks Mona and Lisa for sharing so much and answering questions about the album so thoughtfully and thoroughly. WHY? is a brilliant masterpiece work of art to be so proud of, what a crowning achievement, you never cease to impress with every new work! The future of rock music is in good hands in these two incredibly talented powerhouses.
Album is just full of brilliant mesmerizing songs like Jump Ship, and WHY? that are pushing the envelope in rock/pop music, shaping the music landscape for the future, and Any Other Day is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard, such magical melody, and lyrics really makes me feel what it was like to fall in love for the first time. It takes some amazing master songwriting to be able to do that, create amazing emotions so perfectly like that in a song. A brilliant masterpiece work of art.

I agree with Lisa: I like 'Any other day' most. Or do I just like it, because I like the video so much? Probably both! But all the other songs are excellent as well. I heard the album more than a hundred times and still didn't get tired of it!

Some of the songs on 'WHY?' are simple and euphonious; whilst others you’ll be blown away with, by the complexities, creativity and arrangements!
This album is a definite must have!! It’s incredible talent, blended along with stunning vocals and music, making it a treasured collection! The originality of the songs is invigorating and the studio mixing is exceptional.
'Why' is an incredible album. While certainly there are many 60's and 70's influences this is not a copy album. It is original, thought provoking and simultaneously both musically soothing and challenging. Brilliant themes and ideas constantly jump out at you. Superb harmonies and musicianship top off an album that the Beatles themselves would have been proud of. 7 stars out of 5.

I love your videos Mona and Lisa. I love your music after accidentally landing on the channel a while back. I shared the video of the Gosling with my sister who I think is now subscribed to the channel as well, I have the "Orange" CD and "Live at the Cavern Club" CD already and will likely get some others but after receiving the e-mail earlier today it reminded me to place my order for "WHY", order has now been placed. You have the heart and soul of the genre that you love so much. The early rock years were full of social protest, it's what made it so meaningful and popular. Granted, back them people were generally protesting for good, not like today when they protest against saving lives by getting a free shot. Love your music, keep it up.
Your independence allows me to trust that you're being honest in your artwork and commentary!

"Janitor Joe" is one of those songs that sounds like it's just a fun story, but it really is emblematic of our times. So many have been affected by the pandemic to reflect on mortality and how we really want to spend our time. Janitor Joe is "quiet quitting" in the extreme.
Any Other Day I wouldn't get your songs stuck in my head. LOL.
This was a fun Q&A. I'm so glad I joined the MLT Club. So much great music and fun videos like this. So many great members from all over the world too. We do get into some good discussions, very fun. Thank you girls for everything you do.
I'll throw it out here, since supporting an extra family won't leave enough $ to become an MLT club member. It would be such an exciting thing if fate could bring all you young youtubers together, you girls, Sina drums and the people around her, Josh Turner guitar and a bunch of his friends like Carson and Skylar McKee, Reina Del Cid, Toni Lindgren, Allison Young, T.3. and there are surely more of you around. It could become something like a modern Woodstock, with young artists who are actually capable of singing without autotune, and playing real instruments.
Mona and Lisa are so down to earth and naturally funny. There's plenty of laughs and music. Recommend joining MLT club too.

Qustionable is not just a poppy, catchy song, it really is good. The lyrics are just sarcastic enough and, well...spot on.
The lyrics are very clever. I like how they catch the guys off guard in the video, like the one about "the roundabout they're building over there."

It jumped out at me when Lisa commented that with WHY they dont have the answers (17:03). Reminded me of the Moddy Blues song "Question". which the Moody's said people asked them what the answer was and they relied they didnt know either they just had the Question like everyone else

The song 'Why?' feels like an answer to "Because' by The Beatles. Even moments musically sound familiar. Then the ending turns into Pink Floyd. I wish I could here it for the first time again..over and over.

One thing The Beatles' 'boss' on the Reeperbahn kept doing to spur the boys along was to yell 'macht shau' (if that isn't too badly spelled) or the German version of 'make show'! to enliven the groups' presentation. Any way that could have influenced your newest album?

I think Any Other Day will eventually overtake Questionable in popularity, though RUclips views may not reflect that as new content always pushes aside older releases. Maybe paid downloads from iTunes or other sites will be able to settle the question.

You get a lot of yt comments just blowing smoke but I in all honesty, I loved this album. You set the bar so high in every aspect of this: the lyrics, the vocals, the musicianship, the production. It's obvious you put a lot of thought & effort into this project. Loved it & can't wait to hear the next one!
Dear Mona Lisa Twins "Any other day" and "I bought myself a Politian" are beautifully and intelligently written.
Worthy of "The Kinks", but without being preachy. A mistake other song writers would make.
You've blossomed and grown as both performers and writers. Maybe you should consider being more daring in the subject matter you write about? I know, in this day and age, that's risky but I believe people will respect you for standing by your beliefs. Either way, I can't wait for your future material.

I've been intrigued about why MLT titled this new album, "Why?". My first impression was that they're trying to tell us not to blindly accept things at face value. Always question. I try to do that, habitually, but in today's complicated and over-communicated world, it's a challenge. Alas, we still must ask the question, or simply accept all things as beyond our control.

I think the corrupting influence of money on politics is pretty universal, though the song does go broader than that to the toxic influence of money in general.
