They did it at ps5
They couldn't cause they are marketing the disc/digital to many regions thus such decision is made from the beginning of times. To make it selectable is possible on Sony's end but as we can see, if you just remove the language files, it's about less than 2gb so savings isn't significant which is why this idea is not ideal for Sony adding as a feature.

For Bethesda games like fallout 4 or Skyrim you could reduce the file size of the update by removing the creation club content dlc included in the game updates which are almost 5 gb in size and not need in the game since you need to have active psn account to enable them therefore it's safely to removed them because they're not needed in the game.

Excellent tutorial, I've been using this method since BrutalSam published it about 5~6 months ago. But I have a challenge to propose: finding the languages in ALL Supermassive Games like Until Dawn, The Quarry, Man of Medan, Little Hope, etc... They really made it difficult in that sense. It is very difficult (or impossible) to know which audio files to remove.

I always thought that updates were replacing the older same files when we are installing them.. Sony should have made this from the get go.. This is really good thanks for the guide as always..

No that would be bad if an update ruined the game. All that replaces is the update and the base is left unchanged.

We used to do this back in the psp and ps3 days. We would just download "repacks" versions of games to save on bandwidth

I've been using this software and creating patches for all my games, problem is I started with assassin's creed games and most of them don't have patches made for them yet (the big AC games like Valhalla, odyysey and origins), and it's hard to distinguish what files can be patched out and what files have to be left in
Is there a community making these patches?
When we create custom patches ourself do they get uploaded for others to use?

I mean it's nothing new. You could always extract the pkg, delete what you don't need and rebuild the pkg. The only new thing in this video is the fancy UI and the ability to share patches lol
@@shinji906 yeah I removed UC1 and UC3 ages ago (due to no HDD space at the time) and just had Uncharted 2 running as long as you don't try to play UC1 or UC3 it works fine.
In patch creator, there is no need to rip or modify anything in patch/update file... Just mention name only without any changement in update file and create it. Now you can remarry update file with base game (modified/ripped) in ease....

FF7 crisis core reunion is a great example of saving space. The main game is 21gb and the update is about 22gb but the update itself is DUPLICATE data of EVERYTHING. The actual update is only about 300kb. using this method you can save over 20gb on ff7 alone.
I know you always are announcing the option please in the beginning of the videos however you should show how to do the options when they are posted on the form. Because I am pretty confused on when to sell and we’re not to sell the option. It doesn’t really explain it correctly. Just do a quick video on how to explain that. Please!!

They should make games so that we have the option of downloading, i.e. installing, an additional language and the entire content in that language that we don't need... as is normal in almost all PC games
Yeah exactly. For now all you can do is try and download the US versions of games because they usually have less languages than the EU version
is there any way to select a temp folder for this ripper? in the log it says its using the temp folder in c:\windows but i does not have enough space on this drive...

There are some games I play without the update patch. The question is, will it work without including the update? Is the update compulsory? I just want to shrink the base file only and play.

I don't use the temperature app. Though it's useful but I don't want to make let the fan work too hard because it can wear out.
I just let the fan regulate itself according to ps4 temperature as long as the interior if ur console is not dusty and ps4 is placed in an open space for fresh air to get in

i have all my packages in 2gb .rar files some of games have no patch and in making pakage i cant find anything about language and etc . i have to extract all the parts from rar then when i can find nothing like language and etc i have to delete it then go for next game rar files. it takes so much time

Hello, can you make a tutorial on how to restore the previous file size of the games that were 300gb+ that should only be 40gb+? That bug happened when I rebuilt my data base, then all my games were missing, and I restored them using powershell, and when I looked at the game information, all my files grew, including tools like the Appolo save tool.

Patch Builder v1.3.3 needs fix for correct size it made dioblo 3 with is 42 GB and without rip was 36 GB. It is an error because recovered over 10 GB.
You have to click each file to remove one by one!? Gosh. Should have an option to use shift (and probably ctrl too) to select multiple at once!

Same question and you can kinda do that even without game's that have trophy my tip will be open new profile run your game's on it to get trophy on it but do not get any trophy's you don't really need any
After that open file explorer and find the place where you can see your profile id and tropy list delete one and see if it's gone I don't have my PS4 right so I don't the exact location

Well tried doing this on Tekken 7 and half of what your doing doesn't exist. Unfortunately it would seem it can't be compressed. Really getting frustrated even trying.

Its a best method, but when i tried the whole process is done and also take 20 to 30 minutes for 40Gb game, but after everything done, the output folder is empty. I don't know where I missed the trick.
