That is amazing! I am an EE and every part what I saw in the video is amazing. Let me start of with the fact that the engineers are not dressed in clown (pardon me) suits and uncomfortable while they work just to impress the managers. Their work environment actually looks fun and productive. I would take a fin pay cut to work in that environment. I am so glad that I have been loading the boat during this dip. Tha is for the video! PLTR is the biggest position in my portfolio. I love everything about this company including the fact that they are publically putting the US first. Thanks for the video. Take this sub!
Thanks for the sub and the feedback!! Yeah I feel the same way. I've had the privilege of working for a place that takes this seriously and to be honest it's hard because no other workplace has ever compared to this! It's pervasive and promotes productivity and makes it enjoyable to come to work every morning!
No problem at all Dan, there are so many folks that are neutral about important things like this so I thought it was important to really express what it would feel for an engineer! Cheers
Haha thanks man I mean it seemed genuine usually these things come off as super scripted. And I've been bit by toxic culture here. Right now silicon valley culture is becoming nuts and it's seeping into other companies. So it's a breath of fresh air to see the real one surviving
How do you become a software engineer? Would you think it's a good career opportunity as a career restart for someone in mid 30s? How would I go about pursuing it?
Yeah so Im a pretty straight up guy. So I'll give it to you straight. Yes, it's totally possible to do it in mid 30s problem is you need to know someone who can give you jobs. I had to get it without that and it took some ridiculous hours of learning and then had 1 crappy job. That job went on for 2 years but I got promoted twice. If that didn't happen I would not be here. All the people I worked with are still in the same position. If you can't get this then you have to go to a top 20 school for an IT program. I'd suggest Georgia Tech. I dropped out of the master's program but it's a solid program for undergrad as well. Lastly if you don't have the above two you have to start your own business and use tech. In all the above three you have to learn Outside of school maybe 4 hrs a day for 1 year to catch up with the industry. I would suggest it if you have the passion and the time man. But remember the pay isn't as good as it used to be for beginner level anymore.
@@cyberfam996 thanks for sharing...I took a couple Visual Basic courses like 20.years ago (gawd damn I'm getting old and do people even use VB anymore lolol?) And I sucked at it and it wasn't even interesting tbh. But I always admired the craft. Both of my parents have the programming background but it's not my bag I guess. And from the sound of it starting at this point without the passion for it doesn't make much sense. Thanks again for your thoughts and reply.
@@deemahdee passion makes the days go by faster but you don't need that lol. What you need is someone who's going to hire you with little or no experience. And VB lol it's funny I had to use it in my first job and it was already deprecated at this point
Question what do you think about Bigbear AI (BBAI) I don't know the technical stuff..but if you got a chance, PLTR partner up with BBAI..and BBAI has a lot of room to grow much smaller cap. Smaller shares outstanding also. 😏
Yeah fair. I've gotta few people asking about it I'll take a look. Another guy mentioned Datawalk or something. To be honest I have done my DD on them so I didn't bother with a video. If I research more and it gets interesting I'll make a vid. Also it's tough to be technical without demos so gotta find a good one.
Motivation. I think these highly motivated employees are driven by the stock based compensation offered by Palantir. Don't get me wrong, I hold a large position in Palantir, understand their reasoning behind it, and believe in the company. I just get annoyed by the dilution of the stock at the shareholder's expense.
Yeah fair point. This was one of my concerns in my other video about PLTR concerns. But to be honest they're tapering that down and now it's maybe a 70/30 rather than as high as 50/50 at some times. It's early in its listing so this activity is typical but long term, let's see what they do. Dilution rate is already reducing so I'll buy more once I finish my tax obligations lol
"Culture" na re-term this to "management style" cause nothing about that said "culture". The more I know about Palantir the more uncomfortable I am with this company...
But their were talking about their day to day and how they feel working there. Wouldn't that be culture? What kind of things came out to you as management style in this video?
@@cyberfam996 they spoke to their company organization and workflow. I was looking for more company policy.
