You are talking my language when it comes to improving accuracy!! I love being able to work with precision and as you show, it doesn't mean that it will take any longer and often it saves time. I love seeing how you can batch out the zero clean inserts with each one being perfect. Great collection of tips in this video. Well done, Ramon 🙂
Yeah, I love seeing your posts and tips on Instagram. You have great ideas to implement accuracy. It almost always counts! Thanks for watching…I appreciate it.
Using the drill bits as spacers is a great idea. I've seen that before, but can't seem to ever remember to use them when I get an opportunity. Maybe one day I'll catch on. Thanks for the reminder.
Nice tips Ramon. I like to use a set of feeler gages instead of tape to adjust stop blocks. The domino effect for the aluminum sounded quite satisfying. Steve
Hey Steve! Yes! I thought about after the video was completed. Feeler gauges are super useful in the woodworking shop. Thanks for the input..maybe someone will read that.
Great tips, I have also used drill bits for spacers, it's amazing that something that simple can be so accurate and effective Thank You Ramon for sharing, you always have great tips and trick, I learn something new with every video !
Right!? I have a numbered index that has increments in a couple of thousandths at a time. So effective. But usually I’m just using a standard index. Anyway, I appreciate the good words!
Absolutely crazy how much information you have crammed into one video. Love those zero inserts, such a pity that postage to Australia is a killer but I think I may have to bite the bullet and get some as mine just broke big time. The original Felder inserts are absolute crap. Have just ordered me a pair of 123 blocks, what a great idea for easily checking the accuracy of my panel saw. Cheers Ramon and this video deserves a sh!t load more views than this
Thanks Darren…I appreciate your support always. I’ve always said that someone could have a super legit company just making ZCI’s for sliders. Not one single brand that I’ve ever been on or seen, has a correct insert. Most older sliders literally have notches in the slider part from the blade being deflected from a chunk of wood. Anyway, thanks a ton.
I use stop blocks al the time i have a bunch of blocks that are exactly100x 50 and 18 mm thick the mesusurmenr doesnt realy matter but the fact that they are al the same makes it confinjent for a lot of stuf .
Hi Ramon just checking if you still sell the zero clearance plate for the Hammer B3 winner saw if so please send me the link to order it and do you supply the screw for it as well thanks
Here’s the link to those ZCI’s. I don’t provide the 4 machine screws. Did you lose yours? They’re an M6-1. Thank you ramonvaldezfinefurniture.com/product/zero-clearance-insert-for-felder-hammer-k-3-winner/
I think what @zohranbloedjes9770 is referring too is the fact that small offcuts can lodge, jam or even cause the blade to deflect as they get slammed in betwixt the saw table and blade. Or carriage and blade. Every single brand that I’ve ever seen has this issue. Thanks for checking out the video 🙏🏼
Right!? Someone could have a good business just making ZCI’s for all the different sliders out there. I’ve thought about it, but I like what I’m already doing too much 😆
Luckily for Martins and Altendorfs you can just mount simple square strips of plywood unlike the more complicated shapes Felder and Hammer use😅@@ramonartful
Muchas gracias!

Love the passion you have for your work and your generosity in sharing you tip & tricks.
Dude! Thank you…I appreciate that
Awesome amount of skill, technique, knowledge and brain power. The definition of work smarter, not harder. Well done, brother.
Thanks man…I appreciate that. Little things that stack up to make a big difference! Cheers

Incredibly useful tips, years of experience on a RUclips video, who would have thought that “hands on woodworking” training could be learned online ❤
Thanks my friend 👊🏼

Hmmmm. Never woulda’ thunk about NOT measuring plywood thickness at the factory edge since it is usually sanded more. It pays to be neurotic Ramon! 😂
I made a bunch of grooves once and when I cut the panels, they didn’t fit! I realized the factory edges were slightly thinner. Lessons 😆
And its so weird that there arent zero clearence insert for sliders i love the one i made for mine i like having it on the chop saw as wel
Probably because most come with a scoring blade, at least where I live

Interesting, Are the ZCI’s all around the blade? To the left of the blade is usually the problem.
