- If you tap many threads, you know how slow it can be doing it by hand. These tapping heads are incredibly fast and create clean, straight & accurate threads! Here I'm tapping 100 M12 holes in aluminum but of course, they work in steel as well. They can be pricey, but pay for themselves quickly. This is a Tapmatic brand, Procunier is another brand that I've heard is even better?! You can find them used (Ebay) I got lucky and found a brand new one! I looooove this thing! No affiliation with Tapmatic ...I purchased it myself.

That is absolutely amazing, Ramon. I love the slow motion showing how the clutch works to reverse the thread. The deep reach socket is a great idea as well. Thanks for pointing out another useful metal working item that makes sense in a wood shop. I wonder if you could speed up the tapping if you mounted it in your router😂😂😂
Thanks a ton, David! A router! That made me lol! We could put a Tapmatic on the Pantorouter! 😆
Great information. Thanks. I don’t need this at the moment but would definitely consider getting one if I do.
Very cool. My fav part is the magnet lid for the papers. 😮
Ha ha…total afterthought that worked out 😆 cheers
Really neat, never seen one of these. I tap holes frequently so might have to see if I can find one
They're quite incredible! thanks fo watching
That's a very cool tool!
Nice that you got a bargain price, they're quite spendy.
I'm tempted to make some special boxes for my favourite tools now!
It was super fun to use. I got lucky and found this one half price!
The box was a quick, but fun build.
Anyway, thanks for checking out the vid!
Found you through blacktail studios. 🍻
Cool! Thanks for being here
Gracias. This was fun and informative.
Great to hear…thanks !
Another great vid. If I can be off topic a bit, have you run out of your Baltic Birch stash yet? Found a substitute? Had to increase prices of your docks with a doubling or tripling of ply prices since covid supply chain woes? Enquiring minds want to know....thanks
I had about 40 sheets but am still purchasing more as I can. It’s gone up significantly in cost and yes, I did have to raise the prices on my Docks to reflect this. We did find a substitute…it’s decent but not beautiful Baltic birch. I say we…meaning the manufacturer of the Dock Flat Pack. These are now being cut in Oregon. We’re starting to get in some Woodcraft stores. Looks promising. Cheers
That tap head is cool.. I thought that would be strictly for a Bridgeport or even a lathe. Never thought about using something like that on the Drill Press. But with a JT3 shank it totally makes. sense
+
When I first started looking I did plan on using it on the Bridgeport. But now, I’d like to find a dedicated drill press just for this. Thanks for watching
Do they give you that?
@@sallymcley4404 purchased myself. It was listed as used but looks brand new. Love it
Show us your drill press! 😁 it doesnt look like a radial! Did you modify it? Or am i just seeing things?
I’m not sure I understand!? At about 9:51 I start showing the drill press. It’s a Grizzly G9969 Radial Drill Press No modifications really. LMK if you have other questions. Thanks!
Now I can envy you and Abom79.😊
The cure for envy is to get one…Such a great addition to my shop! Now, I’ll have to see who that is 😬
Ho man is Ray gonna like the big fella. I hadn't checked in for about a year, just had a look and wow. I clicked on that vise video and had a big smile when he scored that touchdown. Thanks for the heads up. Inheritance Machining is another great one Ramon. Thanks for all the hard work, you guys are the best.
Great information. Thanks. I don’t need this at the moment but would definitely consider getting one if I do.
I was blown away with how well this worked! I know that in the new world of CNC, this isn’t that great. But in my world without a CNC , the Tapmatic is incredible! 😬
