Hi Rainy Day Studio, I have a question regarding your arrangements. How do you find the correct base notes and chord notes for the melody for a song? Because there a cases where the bass notes or chord notes are out of the key right? How do you handle that?
@@rainydaystudio77 What about the extra harmonic notes. Those notes that are added to make more feeling. Are they always in the key? Or is it possible that some are out of the key?
@@rainydaystudio77 I'm sorry but it's not about a specific song. But more about a situation. For example after finding out the melody and bass note. The next step should be the harmony notes. We normally find the these notes using the notes in the chords in the key. But what if one harmony note doesn't sound good. But another note that is outside the key does sound better. How do we handle this?
@DifferentSpecialOfficial This is a deep question. When a composer writes a song, he rarely thinks only in using notes from a single key. This of course happens in simple song like Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. In pop songs, sometimes you will find that the song is in one key, let’s say G major, then the notes for the song should be: G, A, B, C, D, E, and F#. But in the middle you might find a C# note, whether in the melody or as a chord note. This chord is actually a “secondary dominant” chord, which is borrowed from the key of D major (which has F# and C# notes). The next common situation is modulation, where a song changes its key to another key. There are other cases of using notes outside the key, you may find more informations in the theory books (Grades 6-8). Hope this is helpful :)
Have you changed Musicnote's status? I can't use "pro Credit"for some of your new uproading, and tried original way of payment but still not available for PDF... I prefer to keep PDF
Musicnotes now has 2 different systems: the original Musicnotes system that can purchase PDF, and Musicnotes Marketplace which surprised me that I could not find the option for PDF. I will ask them about this, hopefully they can implement the PDF option in it.
Here is Musicnotes reply regarding your requests: 1) Regarding Pro Credits: help.musicnotes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052799351-What-are-Pro-Credits-#h_01EV7VQP901YR09RNJDXM3ET83 2) Regarding PDF: help.musicnotes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039850491-What-is-a-PDF-add-on-and-what-can-I-do-with-it- For what I understand is that: Musicnotes Pro subscribers and Musicnotes Pro - Premium subscribers will still receive the 15% discount off of the arrangement during checkout. When you open your purchased sheet music with Musicnotes app, there is a PDF button on it, some of the music come with PDF, some are not (sadly).

The bass note is based on the chord. For G major chord, the bass note will be G note. For Gm/Bb chord, the chord note will be Bb (B-flat) note.

Can you be more specific? Which song which bar? I will try to answer but I need to know the exact situation.
