This is my diagnosis journey, watch as I explain the journey through finding the right doctors and medications to be properly diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder. It was a long and complicated road down to finding out what I have. But it was well worth it now knowing that my diagnosis is schizoaffective disorder depressed type with Borderline Personality disorder. Not everyone finds the right doctor right away, I surely didn't. However, don't give up, continue the fight.

Hey Amanda, good to see your post! I was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia in 1987 and then diagnosed more accurately with schizo affected disorder bi polar type but I also suffer from deep depression and have a few alters. I only had an alter take over my experience about four times in all these years. I don't have a fear of it doing so permanently. One time it was a good thing because I was going to make a fool out of myself doing impromptu for a girl I liked and I always sucked at improvising comedy. I have heard of people with very similar symptoms like the voices say the same things. It makes me wonder? My voices are very creative and I only stop believing in them as long as I don't need them. The imagination is a harsh mistress. Hang in there, I believe mental pain is worse than physical ailments.

I don’t do treatment or medication. I’m still maintaining. The healthcare system is a joke. I got charged 3k for an involuntary stay and I’ll never be in that situation again. I’d say we truly don’t get better but we adjust to not be in helpless situations suffering from the sadomasochists
Did it improve though? How did you do it?
I went to a doctor that listened to me and prescribed me medication with low doses first, and built up as we went along
