Thank you for the tips really useful. My Luggie seems to be going at the same speed on tortoise 🐢 speed and hare speed. No idea why as I’ve used the speed control for several years without any problems. Any ideas please?

I have just bought the luggie super, I've been traveling along not taking much notice of the battery, on mine you have a green, amber and red as soon as it hit the amber the scooter went half speed ,luckily I had my husband with me, I wasn't very happy with the operator when I phoned up I felt a bit stupid, I was trying to explain that I couldn't understand why Luggie had bothered to put an Amber battery light when the whole scooter is going to shut down that would make the red light redundant? Why bother with a red light when you wont make it to your car? Anyway I might phone back and try to speak to someone older than 12 ☺ I know what you mean about lips on steps B&M here where I live has a 50p lip, I love that tip, I face that step head on and go for it ,it bumps up no trouble you made me laugh when you said if it tips we look un-cool 😂 , anyway happy scootering ☺

    Where you buy car charger?

    • @kazaccess

Depends on the vehicle… You might need an inverter or you might just need a plug that has normal UK 3 pin on one side and then the other plugs into the car. Both of which can be bought from Halfords. I think people refer to it as a laptop charger for the car… It’s used on people go on camping trips. I am actually going to do a video about getting into the car with the scooter and also going to cover charging in that video… Will let you know when it’s posted.

The people who actually sell the Luggie… (Local Mobility), also sell the inverter

I find the tortoise and hare speed are great. I use tortoise in shops and when I'm at a crossing, l stop, put it towards hare so l can go a bit faster to get onto the path quicker.
The down side is that it's very heavy. Mine weighs 50lbs, so l can't get it out of my front door alone, so l am still housebound when my husband is at work.

Dear Kaz. My Mum’s scooter is cutting out dead when still on full charge. The charge indicator is fully in the green but after about 1/4 mile from start it cuts out and no reswitch or anything will restore power. I then must push it home and straight on to the charger which only takes a max of 20-30 minutes to restore full charge and the scooter is raring to go again but...only for another quarter mile. The battery is good and recently refurbished. Is there some type of auto cut out which may be faulty? Thanks

Hi John, thanks for the explanation. I’m not experienced that personally, but the consistency of what you’re explaining sounds like there should be a fix. I’ve recently had my scooter serviced and these guys know everything about them… Give them a call on 0800 012 4258. They’ve got a vast amount of knowledge and should be able to diagnose the fault and let you know how to fix it
