Royal Caribbean Dinner Episode 3 (Caribbean & Mexican Night)

- Tour the Royal Caribbean's 2023 main dining room food & menu for Caribbean Night & Mexican theme dinner, which were from day 4 and 5 of our 7 night cruise, respectively. All the food you see in the video are complimentary- included with your cruise fare. Royal Caribbean also had several vegan and no sugar added dishes.
During Caribbean theme night, the restaurant was especially festive. The wait staff dressed in Caribbean-themed shirts and performed some songs and dances as well, and many guests joined in on the fun.

I was really iffy about Mexican and Caribbean Nights. But I've found that I would like to try the corn cakes, enchiladas, carne asada and maybe even the tofu tacos. The pork chop and grilled eggplant looked very good. And you know what, I can alway fall back on the Indian dish of the night. Can't go wrong. Thank you for showing us what it looks like and commenting on the taste. Looking forward to the next one. 😊

🫤 Hmm… Once again, fabulous video. Can’t say I’m terribly excited about any of the offerings here. May need to “buffet it” on both those nights. I have a reservation at 150 Central Park on my cruise in April. I’m looking forward to that. I just hate spending extra money above my cruise fare for food, but we’ll see!

You sure can! Just let the server know and they'll to-go it for you. You can take food from the buffet or other eateries to your cabin as well.

Wow some delicious dishes with full of flavors and spices. That tiger shrimp dish is definitely something I’d order, and the curry chicken looks really good too. Desserts are great when you eat them with some bitter strong coffee to cut the tarti sweetness of the dessert. I always have them with Italian coffee espresso.😊
That's for sure- the coffee helps deal with the sugar impact as well!
How does the food compare to Celebrity? It seems more flavoursome. I find American food quite bland....even though I'm a Brit!😆 We LOVE spice
Celebrity has slightly better quality in terms of ingredients & presentation, but this was pretty good too. The food tasted pretty flavorful overall, but yeah it also depends on personal preference. You can always ask for spicy sauce or even fresh chilis.

Also you have inspired me to try Indian food while on my cruise. When you eat those dishes it seems they are always great. I want to try “good” curry, butter chicken, naan, etc
Indian food is very good on the ship better than on land. There was one time my waiter brought me an Indian dish that was not on their menu and I was told that this is what thev staff eat. It was absolutely delicious
I've read that the Indian food tends to come out hotter and more 'freshly plated' b/c it's not ordered that much, so I guess it is kept on a 'simmer' and plated as needed. It tends to be solid, reliable, and pretty filling regardless of cruise line.
They did a nice job on the Indian dishes for sure- definitely worth a try!
Yes very comforting and is usually healthier as well!

Caribbean night beat Mexican night IMO. 🤣. That jerk chicken and pork chop looked delicious and the side dishes were very nice too. I’m with Joann about bell pepper. It overwhelms most dishes for me. The tofu “tacos” made me laugh out loud. What the heck??? As always, the desserts looked yummy. Especially the coconut cake. Thanks for posting!
Yeah those jerked dishes were good, but the tofu "taco" wasn't that at all- more like a bowl lol. Thanks so much Sally for the comment! 😊

Thanks for sharing this video with the food reviews. I never been on a cruise. Can you order more than one main dish for dinner without paying extra?
Yup you can order multiple appetizers, main entrees or desserts without paying extra. The only exception is lobster which costs $17 extra each additional tail. Thanks for the question! 🙂
I was concerned with the new menu. However, there has not been a night where I would find it difficult to find 2-3 entrees that I would like to try. I was never a big fan of the extended menu. Another great video. I have to confess that I have been watching your videos at the gym. The more you eat, the faster I pump the bike ...

Great video. I have watched three of your food, but I have a question. I have seen other RUclipsr mention that you can order multiple appetizer and dessert,, but they only let you order one entree at a time? Is that true? What was your experience with their new menu?
Thank you! 🙂 Actually you would order all of them at once, but they will only bring them out one at a time so it's not too many plates on the table at one time.

Yeah some of the dishes are not going to fill you up, but you can order multiple ones.

Yeah the crab in the crab cake didn't taste genuine, but was still good 🙂

We had coconut shrimp on Liberty of the seas in January 2023 and it was boxed dried up old batter fried shrimp. It was awful.

Disposing of the little corners of food that you picked up is kinda neurotic.
We have just returned from this ship and I am sad to say the food was bland and totally disgusting!
which stuff was disgusting? usually the worst case is that things can be bland; all the cruise lines know that if anything is too spicy it will be polarizing to diners.
Precooked food, sauces and gravy that were tasteless. Sweaty Betty cheese standing for hours etc!

Every meal from the MDR was cold. It was so bad we stopped going. Only on the formal night was the food cooked like it should be. The buffet again had food that was cold and the dessert section was pitifully pathetic. I have been sailing since my 20’s and I would not sail with Princess again. Back to Celebrity for me.

Yes that wasn't the best dish- it wasn't stuffed and the eggplant was a thin slice. Kind of creative though.
They should be ashamed to call that “Mexican night”. That’ll be a MDR skip night for me. I see they’ve gone back to having the wait staff wear “theme” clothing & dancing thru the dining room again. For me, that’s a step backwards. In this day & age I just find that cringey.
I have had better food from a food truck. New menu sucks.
