Outstanding! Y’all did a fine job!!! Very clean and fast ! That’s great teamwork! You have a great team!!! 👍👍😃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.
Excellent chop! Great work! Love the 49-51 Fords!
Really cool details of the chop.. it’s amazing that you were able to lay the rear window down with out it being lowered too much. The team is very talented
Excellent! Great job, not too radical. I'd love to have a '50 or '51. Perfect!
Nice video. Nice to see someone explaining the process
Wow - you made it look so easy. Far less welding than I've seen on other chop jobs on '51 Fords .
That was amazing how nice the chop turned out.
You guys make it look easy.
Richard hope you are payed well my friend thanks for the informative video....were blessed lol
Good work, very subtle chop
Nice job , perfect video

Bell Glass in Phoenix Arizona just cut down my laminated windshield 2 inches with no difficulty. It is perfect to my line. It was not expensive and they have been doing it for years.
What did they charge you
@@anthonymaniz9896 since i live in Phoenix there was no shipping. The cost was $200. There is a possibility that the windshield would break wrong and I understood that risk. I actually had him do a second one that I keep in the shed in case of disaster. Good luck with your chop, pal.
My windshield was for a Cobra sized speedster. I still have the extra shipping box. If your class is not that unique from a more modern car he told me that some folks send him a very accurate paper template and have the local auto glass dealer take him the new glass in a shipping box. He cuts it, replaces it in the original box and sends it to the customer. This way the customer only paid once for shipping. Maybe i can help if you go forward.
Another thing i have done that i think is a REALLY good idea is putting clear film on both sides of the chopped windshield. The film at least tries to minimize chips. I told a buddy about this and he filmed his plexiglass panels with absolutely amazing results. The film adhesive somehow eliminated tiny scratches that had inevitably appeared over several years of very careful cleaning. It was amazing.
Красиво сделали. молодцы. усаженная крыша . классно смотрится
Really nice job 👍🏻
Clean chop. Nice detailed information too. What ever came of this build? Where's it at now
you did a great job,you are masters
I've always wanted to see what it looks like with the tail light spears removed. Cool, just like I thought it would.
music to loud compared to voices had to keep turning volume up and down, but a lot of talented craftsmen.
Great video! Now everyone can see where High School Trigonometry can be very useful. Do you recommend mig or tig welding of metal panels? I only own a mig welder.
Thats one hell of a chop
Terrific .
Nice job. Looks like 5 new windows have to be made. How much are custom windows like those?
Why on earth would you cut off the taillight fender shapes? That's the defining beauty of the 49 thru 51s. Probably the first thing I remembered seeing when the 49 Ford came out.
impressive nice job
Thanks 👍
Very very nice work.
How many windows did you have to replace
Once you cut the top, what do you do about glass?
FYI, the math he explains at 11:00 is wrong. Ya kinda know what he’s trying to say, but 2 inches would only net you 1.4” chop at the front. I measured my A pillars and they are 45degrees. 2”x.707 = 1.4”
Anyone attempting this chop, (I’m in the middle of doing it) 2” wide masking tape on the A pillar and the B pillar, gives you a nice rake on the roof line. The filler piece above the door, is about 1 3/8”... just like the distance the a pillar went down, that’s the same amount the roof comes forward.
How did your car turn out
How did yours turn out
I like it, I like it a lot!
Hi, I'm a DIY person have been doing cars for a long time and I have bought a 39 Chevy coupe and want to chop the top my self. Can you give me any suggesting on how to go about it.Thanks Harvey
Great job
Average? hmmm... well they're ALL over the place depending on what you're working with in the car and the car's shape itself. This chop went smoothly, and we planned so hard on it, but they don't always go that smoothly, HAHA. It really is a case-by-case deal for us at least.
Beautiful chop... what rims/sizes/tyres are those by the way?
Too much work for very little of a change. Nice work.
what is the average cost of a chop like that ?
Good Job.
This guy has about the same mentality as Lenny on Lavern & Shirley .for chopping a 1951 Ford coupe .
Where do you get glass for a chop top?
Dam Fine Job.
awesome. thanks. Why not post on Facebook/
How much dose a chop top like this cost
please what name do the clips holding the can have at the time of welding
Yoan Moreno they’re from eastwood. www.eastwood.com/intergrip-panel-clamps-set-of-4.html
Very nicely done.
I'd like to see what happens when they chop a new car as well.
CHris Henniker I was just writing that when all the old cars are all gone kids or are youngest are going to customized a new car or up to date car
They will just 3d print the old cars
Greg, did you do the Great race in a ford boat tail? I was with J.D. in the 35 truck.
Just thinking it would look nicer if roof was stretched a couple of inches to get rid of the awkward fill in panel from the trunk lid to the rear screen? The ratio of upper body to lower body has to be maintained.
We're are you?
Well done but Im not sure it looks better than a stock body..
wish had same cut on my 50 ,ah some-day
damn nice
skill
Clean chop definitely worth it for looks , why is it all 40s and 50s cars the roofs are so ugly and bulbous like that I swear every one of them needs to be chopped
jason its on average $1k per inch. as a rule of thumb. depending on who you know.
hahaha you sed butt weld.
Looks Like a Stock Car. They should have Beauty Chopped This Car. That is The old 1980 and Late 1979 Look. Nobody wants That Look Today. If you are going to Customize a Car Like That, Do it with a better Look. Not a Mild Mediocre look. Overall They did an Excellent job on this Tutorial.
I'm confused. What do you mean by 79-80 look?
@@xmo552 What I Mean is The Look You went For Was Popular Back in 1979 Thru 1980. Sylvester Stallone Made The Chop Tops On These Cars Even More Popular when The Movie Cobra Came out. Also. The Film Heart Like A Wheel kept that Look alive. But Here in 2021 it's All About The Beauty Chop. A Bo Huff Exclusive. Voo Doo Larry and Lords Of Customs Style. I Currently Own a Two Door 1951 Merc and I am Goung To Beauty Chop Mine. The Look you went for Just Looks Plain Stock and Has That 79 thru 80's Look that i used to see at World of Wheels and is Not Hot At All By Todays Standards. Sorry But Hemmings Motor News is Full of Mercs That look like yours and They Cannot sell One of them. The same Mercs have been Advertised in there for the past 6 years. A Beauty Chooped Merc will Sell Fast Because That is the Look people of Today Want...No One Wants A James Dean Style Looking Merc. Just Ask Voo Doo Larry if you Don't Believe Me
turn down the music pleez
Pretty cool video till music started
Rear taillight spears ugg not hard ladies !
I love hot rods (worked at a classic car shop for several years) BUT : there should be thought given to a stop to chopping/channeling these few original cars left. You cannot undo this. Like heritage homes ,these should be limited so as to save remaining specimens-just a thought.
Can't stand videos that you have to keep your mouse on the volume ......music 6x louder than their speech
Music👎🏻
Make it look more modern?.....buy a modern car then there is going to be nothing original left in years to come they will be trying to do roof lifts not chops
Every last one of them needs to be chopped...including those in museums.
Dont ruin the build by putting LS crap in it.go ford.
