Just got one delivered today as I'm mixing vinyl and digital and not only do I have these FX on top of the ones in Traktor but also it offers the BPM counter and the possibility of looping a part of the vinyl that will hopefully make blending in the digital track more enjoyable :)
Oh nostalgia... efx1000 bring me back in late 2000s. Finally when I bought it, I used it once... DJM-800 at that time had more than enough effects, beside effect frequency isolator I didn' find efx-1000 useful in live gigs. Tried it with Xone:92, but it didn't play well, than I sold it...
An old FX, but one of my favorites :) EFX 1000 has many possibilities if you learn how to play nicely with feedback loops and use all its possibilities :) You can also create feedback with RMX. Before that, you need to change the RMX parameters with the remixbox program, but it's more fun for me to do it with EFX :)
First, connect your RMX 1000 to your computer with a USB cable. Second, change the ECHO settings as follows: 1) Change 1 in 4 echo time to 8/1 2) Set Filter range to wide 3) Set Feedback to Hold. 4) Export all settings to the sd card and leave it on the RMX device Usage: While the track is playing, set 1) Echo time to 8/1 position 2) Make filter range at 12 o'clock. (with it you will adjust the volume of the existing feedback 3) Turn the echo effect to the maximum position and at the same time turn off the sound source or close the input channel so as not to get feedback on top. Do everything on user mode. RMX is a fun tool. You can do much more with it than create feedback. :)
Cool Demo Steve. I have one and unfortunately it degrades the great audio quality of the Euphonia. One of the boutique custom rotary companies needs to make a modern effects box (I have the Master Sounds EFX Box and like it but could be updated) that works with ARS, Orbit, Resor, Contessa etc... The SFX on the Euphonia are pretty good. Maybe it's time for a new Pioneer EFX Box... It's been a while...
Curious to know how you would compare the use of the EFX-1000 to the RMX-1000 for DJ purposes only... I have a Rane MP2015 and am looking for a similar effects machine. Trying to decide between the two for my deep house sets.. any thoughts?
I have both units and an mp 2015 as well. (And a urei 1620 and just added the Euphonia) For the mp 2015 I like the rmx 1000 That mp 2015 is a beast with the Submix channel and click button send to Submix. Can get super creative with that even before adding effects. Amazing how the mp 2015 gets no love.
Hey I still have my efx 1000; it’s boxed up in the basement from when I moved 5 years ago. Also have the Euphonia and the rmx 1000(I don’t see a need for the rmx hooked up to the Euphonia) BTW Nice tip on the djm rec software w the Euphonia, wish they would make it official. How about asking pioneer to add full kill isolator eq on each channel and combo hp lp filter setting via the utility menu. There has to be room in the internal dsp/processor to tweak that stuff.
