    Some years ago,i polished many different cars by hand for 4 years when i begun in the detailing industry with great results and the custumers very satisfied with my hand polishing jobs.Actually i use dual action and rotary buffer to get the job done faster.
    Hand polishing is VERY HARD,BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE-LEARNING DIFFERENT WAYS TO WORK MAKE YOU STEP UP YOUR GAME AND PROFITS

    This video came along at a perfect time for me. My dog jumped up on my friends car and put some light scratches on his hood. I'm going to try and polish them out this weekend. As I don't have a polisher with me here, I'll be doing this by hand. This was a great comparison! I'm thoroughly enjoying your videos! Thanks!

    I’m an avid handpolisher, and I don’t mind products with fillers. My take is that correcting the paint to a mirror finish year after year, eventually will remove the clearcoat that is there to serve a purpose - namely protecting the car. This is particulary true on a daily driver, where marring and imperfections will rapidly re-appear. I’m always on the lookout for the best and most longlasting handpolish products 😄

    Ordered the S20 Black, trying something different compared to 105/205 combo. Next might be the HD line. Definitely see the value of 1 step polish on moderate swirls so I can focus on sealants/wax and other areas. I believe hand polish is for hard to get areas like you said. Another educational video. Thanks Sandro

    • @pepecoco
      @pepecoco 7 лет назад

      Just tried the S20 Black. Wow. Clearly a 1 step compound as long as your expectations are realistic factoring pad, pressure and speed. Time saved vs 105/205 is big. Still tempted to reach for the 105. But
      The difference in margin is minimal.

      Car Craft Auto Detailing I haven't done any machine polishing yet, but I bought a Flex 3401 and a Flex PE 8. Also bought a 4" back plate for the 3401. I figured that should cover most applications. The rest I could just do by hand.

    Clear coat is actually more prone to large scale failure via oxidation and fading. Its employment was to make spraying more intricate colors and Metallics possible. You can't blend single stage paint nearly as well as 2 stage. So we have adopted it to help with general maintenance and collision resprays. Has nothing to do with durability. I'll take single stage solid colors over 2 stage with clear any day. And this is coming from a 17 year tenured auto painter

    Hi, just saw this video and am thinking to buy a machine polish as i ran out of strength to hand polish a whole car once last night. This video is very convincing. Just wondering if you would have any time available, i would be able to come down melbourne one day and you could teach me how to use the same polisher you used in this video? Im still skeptical on the proper technique i should be using such as pressure, speed and pad selection. I could buy you coffee or lunch, i guess?

    what light are you using to show those swirls. I cant find a way to reproduce swirls in my garage. I have all LED ceiling light in the garage. I can see scratches and defects pretty well but swirl I have to pull the car out every time to verify swirls are gone. If it gets cloudy I can't see anything.

      I have (think i've watched most of your vids on RUclips). To the point, great delivery makes for easy viewing (actually bought a shinemate 15mm and a 12mm mini after watching your vid).
      They're smooth and easy to work but get bogged down every now and then- great learning curve though..
      Settled on Scholl white spider and S3XXL for correcting then finished down with s30+ and a shinemate red.

    • @JohnPerez-fn2ok
      @JohnPerez-fn2ok 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply, I've been through the forums and everyone prefers the Boss microfiber to the meguiars because the fibers stay up much longer and they finish better but those HDO are very new and there's not much information on them

    • @JohnPerez-fn2ok
      @JohnPerez-fn2ok 7 лет назад

      I think meguiars has to update their pads because all of the other microfiber pads that have been released in the last year have the hole in the middle for cooling down and most foam pads have it too

    How do you know what products are SMAT and which are DAT (?? is that it?)? I have scholl S3, S20, S30 and S40 but i have no idea which is what kinda of polish.
    Also would you recommend SMAT for a learner since it is more consistant in its results?
    In regards to paint hardness, i was able to hand polish my older subaru to a fairly decent finish over two days. Then i tried to do my mums VW and after one day on just the bonnet i gave up until i bought a machine.

    • @mitchellheadington5182
      @mitchellheadington5182 7 лет назад

      Hey Sandro, thanks for the reply.
      I have recently bought a machine (shinemate 5" DA) with a bunch of scholl polishes. It's a pretty massive learning curve but finding out about SMAT and DAT explains a lot of what i was experiencing. I have been doing too big of an area and i was finding that from when i started to when i finished in that spot i was getting very varied results. I thought it was my pads and not enough polish etc etc. But now i realise i was just using the polish wrong and not understanding that the DAT needs to be broken down till its finishing. So what i was doing was using it one spot with its heavier cut then using it in another area with its finishing cut.
      Now that i understand more i will hopefully get some better results :D thanks so much.
      I really want to try optimums spray polishes though, they look like they are a little easier in terms of pad priming and using the right amount of product.
      Thanks again
