I’ve been having mine for 8 months now and it still works fine. It is cheap quality but it’s the only battery operated pressure washer with decent power out there.
That's why I buy the extended warranty at Home Depot on expensive equipment. The store will replace it with a new one to get around all that factory warranty crap. But you have to be a little savvy. I bought a digital caliper. It has a lifetime warranty. At checkout the clerk ask if I wanted the extended warranty. I said, what? You mean I can get it guaranteed to extend past life? She had that deer in the headlights look.
Been hearing a lot of comments on the lack of quality with the “new” line of ryobi products. Workshop Addict has a video about the new line that was eye opening.
The small engine shop...ouch! It is a good thing you really don't need to ever go to a small engine repair shop. I've always been leery about the Ryobi stuff. I'll just stay with the good old gas powered stuff - 2-cycle if I can.
Pretty much any manufacturer can have a lemon now and then so I wouldn't be mad at Ryobi but that "repair" shop is typical of every one I've ever been to, that's who I'd be pissed at. I also question if they even contacted Ryobi in the first place because Ryobi has their own huge repair facility in the US so I doubt that they would tell your buddy that the pressure washer is supposed to work like that. If it's not gas, they probably don't have a clue what to do. In the end Ryobi did you right.
I recently went to Home Depot to buy a cordless tool. Ryobi has a deal where you buy the 2 battery pak and get the tool for free. Home Depot had signs advertised this at their hand tool and outdoor tool section. I already have their leaf blower and figured would be nice to get two more batteries . They had tons of Ryobi cordless tools but no batteries? The sales guy told me, I had to wait for the "Ryobi Days"? ...and then he walked away and then I walked away too. The search continues.
Sadly more and more formerly decent products are falling victim to the "make it cheap in China" and "support it cheap in India" mentality. I would rather find a 10 year old unit at a yard sale and fix whatever is wrong with it. It would last longer. Good video as usual David!
I'll be waiting for the Sledge hammer video lol..........Dave this channel lately has become a comedy show.....every video just just so real it's scary.......incompetence from every angle it's actually sickening.....
Not sure- I know that they make one jump thru hoops with a "repair" and dont really care how long a jack leg "repair shop" takes to look at their defective product. How many actually get repaired ? I doubt many.
Home depot is usually good with returns im surprised they wouldn't exchange it? I agree ryobi is junk I had a bunch of their tools and I finally sold them and upgraded because I was tired of issues. Sorry you went through so much hassle especially when you spend $500
@@RedneckGarage Unfortunately those small 18V batteries all had the same fate. The bigger newer ones seem to be holding out fine, and I have had a 40v in a weedeater for years
The dog owner seems to be the one that should have a pressure washer chucked at them. I am looking forward to that video, not that I wish David bad luck with the new pressure washer though.
Sounds like ryobi bought a batch of junk switches and "cost engineered" their product so its totally not serviceable so a 50 cent switch makes a whole machine scrap. Maybe in the 2 months you waited enough people scrapped their junk ryobis that they're building with a different lot of parts.

Dave in the UK it's the shops problem where it was bought from.its really not good for customer to run around due to faulty product best of luck mate
Thank you Kevin !!! In The UK are they 36 volt instead of 40 ?
@@RedneckGarage No Dave only 18v looks more like a lance with battery up to 5 A about £200
Do you think you just got a bad pressure washer or do you feel every one of them are junk?

Just got one. Only thing I don't like so far is the ability to draw for a tank

It was online only so they had the serial number and wouldnt accept a return
No joke I have had 8-10 of their 18Volt batteries go bad-they replaced them all and the replacements went bad and they wouldn't replace them
typical eh ?

No wonder my Ryobi 18v leaf blower throttles like a Japanese motorcycle at an intersection albeit without any input from me, the user.
I soo love youre rants. Great that you show crappy things.
When the second one craps out, just throw it over the fence at the dog next door. TP
There ya go !!!! :)

I had that same issue with the Ryobi lawnmower. Stopped working just outside of the warranty period. Expensive junk!
Toyota needs to make a pressure washer LOL!!!
Love these videos
Thank You !!!

Ryobi is a product made in FuchU, Japan. True story. The actual city name is what they do to their consumers.
hahahahahahahahaha
Now $600
If you had a Biden Harris sign, maybe it would have worked better
Yeah, mines dead as well
I had to sub the minute the video started. Got my reasons lol..
