Around 2001-2002 we were visiting Ellora caves when I met an Israeli named Avi Solomon, who spoke excellent Marathi. His parents were from Maharashtra and later immigrated to Israel. They still speak Marathi in their home in Israel. His features were Indian and he spoke fluent Marathi and Hindi so he got a regular ticket along with us and said whenever he visits India he always gets away with it because of his features and his language skills.
Once I had met a tourist from Iran in a Delhi hotel.... He told me that he always pays for Indian tickets and no one cares bcz he looks like us😂😂😂 Lmao we really need to get over the fact that only Indians can be brown skinned and only brown skinned can be Indians
It felt really unfair when I paid high foreigner rates in Peru. So I completely understand why no one would want to pay more just because he’s not a citizen. The government must stop this. I’m originally from Udaipur and I’m really sorry you had to undergo such a negative experience in your own country. U r right. The variable prices depend on the purchasing power of the currency of the country you belong to. For example : Indian venues will have price 1 x Indian Rupee as the prices are based on Indian rupees' purchasing power. For US it might be 10 x Indian Rupee. Like that. So that the payer pays enough out of his pocket. There should be some other way to do this.. But for now it is like that.

8 years ago , me and my friends took kstdc package tour to badami , hampi, etc. In our group, there was a couple with their parents. Man and parents were clearly looking kannadiga but I guess girl was from north east. In badami caves , they faced similar problem . Ticket checker at gate was also insisting on passport of the girl. He was ok with rest of family. this family wanted to show cultural heritage of their state to their new family member and instead they got such embarassing situation.
