Village people are like diferent race. You will never be dissapointed no matter where yu go. Poland. Hungary. Pakistan. Vietnam. It seems like they have their own laws and style of living and treat all people diferent than we do in city or towns

Hungarian here, found this video by accident. I love your spirit and openness when visiting other countries, also you're trying to not just go to the typical tourist spots, and actually get to know the people. That sausage is most likely not from their own pork, some places that might be the case, but it would be more expensive probably. Anyway this also answers your question, it is pork.

I speak English, and I grew up speaking informal Hungarian, so I could understand both sides. Was awesome to watch how much you could communicate, despite the language barrier. Especially at the end when being shown around the farm.
AT 57:56, he is saying ‘aeroplane’. Then at 58:07 he’s trying to tell you a number (1942) and wants to get a piece of paper to write it down.

Chickens - hungarian: csirkék (cheer-cake)
You tried to say csirkék, but it sounds like csöcs-kék in hungarian, which means: little titties. 🙂

Hungarian sausage is made from pork. By the way, I don't know how you ate the whole thing without any bread 😂 but it was nice to see you enjoyed it.

It's just called salami or virsli (hot dog) . :)
My parents are Hungarian and I go to Hungary in the summer to see family. I loved that you tried to pronounce the very complicated words. Always worth an effort but you did make me laugh a bit which I love 😂❤. When I’m there in a few weeks and see chickens I’m going to LOL!!

Hi André. The green-red carriage that you were asking about @5:54 in the video is an old Fire Station Carriage. Before there were trucks or cars, in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1910 to be precise), and when trucks and cars existed but were not that common in the countryside, Firefighters used these horse-drawn carriages to put out fires. The way it worked is that usually they had a 4-500 liter water tank, and the two large levers you see at both ends were operated by firefighters, pulling them up and down. There was a tube connected to that circle that is visible in the middle of the cart, and this pumping device provided just enough pressure for the tube that the water could reach up to the roof of the house on fire. Most of the time it was the roof that caught fire, because it is made out of wood. The people of the village went to the wells with buckets of water and re-filled the water tank in the carriage.
So this was the method they used 110-150 years ago.
I spent 1 hour to look for the place you were in. It must be this village: Máriakálnok, in Győr-Moson-Sopron county.
u should visit eastern hungary too its a little bit different or go to hungarian villages in transylvania

Hey! Although its not mandatory, but when they are so nice with you and you are satisfied with the food and service, you could give a 10% tip for them. When I pay with credit card I still give the tip in cash, so I am sure that those receive the tip who I was satisfied with.
