I loved it up until they decided to make them angst ridden edgelords like every other x comic. When it was the funny title with Guido and Jamie as the class clowns and the others still throwing one liners, it was great. Didn't take itself as serious as some of the others.

@@johncole015Deadpool started off as a cheap knockoff of the DC character Deathstroke, seriously. Even down to their names. Slade Wilson/Wade Wilson. A lot of people forget or don't know that Deadpool started off as a serious character and it wasn't until later that he became a jokester. I have the first few appearances of the Deadpool and he's totally different than what he is known as today.

    • @pattgsm
      @pattgsm 10 месяцев назад +6

Yes, and No. MCU Draxx lost Ronan who is no light weight but everyone in the prison was light work for Draxx. In GotG2, as long as his head is covered he’s not affected by the vacuum of space, survived the heat of re-entry, bounced off of giant red wood like trees sustaining absolutely zero damage and laughing. In the Christmas Special bullets tickled and he’s tossing police cars like they were plastic kitchen trash cans. Also did you notice his and Mantis leaping ability? Mantis could have cleared Kevin Bacon’s gate on her own 😅. Honestly, Draxx, Gamora, Nebula, Groot, adult Groot II, are all tanks, it’s just so are Thanks and Ronan. Every other person or creature was light work. They only fell from exessive , overwhelming energy/ballistic weapons.

The body deformation comes when he doesn't release the kinetic energy in time. When he first got his powers and got hit by the bus, his body swelled up. He didn't know how his power worked so he ended up deformed (and in pain) permanently. If he takes another massive hit he gets larger, but the pain is so intense that he has to release it immediately.

relatively speaking yea. Unfortunately I built up a monster tolerance during addiction, so yes, Vicodin is "weak", but don't forget the first time everyone takes a couple vics or percs, they get blasted. Compared to Tylenol. advil, t1's, t2's, t3's, they are quite strong. Anything beyond them is chasing a stronger high, which becomes your norm, so you search for more, which becomes your norm, and the cycle continues. I have a feeling if you just never took anything beyond those first couple of vics and percs, you'd be better off while getting the same doping/pain management. But it's just not human nature to not try and get more of a "good" thing.@@Gatorade69

While Strong Guy actually can't take too many hits from Colossus or Thing.
After 1 hit from Hulk, he nearly died.. and Hulk did said it was "not bad" but immediately after that Hulk says about Strong Guy's counter punch that "It looks like it hurt you more than it hurt me."

Guido was not infected by the “warlock virus”, and the “warlock virus” is/was not a deadlier form of the legacy virus.
The “warlock virus” is just the transmode virus that warlock uses to turn self friends into techno organic matter.
Warlock is a part of the technarcy, which are related to the phalanx. Hence the trans mode infection that guido caught.
The “warlock virus” has nothing to do with the legacy virus. It was just due to karma controlling an infected new mutant team at the time, and Dani monster saves him by infecting him with the transmode virus.

I wonder if there’s a variant, of STRONG-GUY, who is a powerful hero, instead of being a villain?
If there is a hero variant of him; Than I wonder if he has skills, that are opposite to the villains types?
Like being more careful with handling his money, along with controlling his temper, and not being selfish.
I also imagine the hero variant, being forgiving, understanding, not being prideful, and not being stubborn.
In addition I imagine he is capable of developing genuine friendships with almost everyone.
To add I imagine that hero STRONG-GUY, he has a friend who curse him of his pain, that he’s been suffering from for a few years of his life.
Plus to add I imagine he has, another friend who knows magic, and I imagine he casted a spell of him, that protects him from evil magic.
So because of the spell casted on him, hero variant STRONG-GUY, never lost his soul.
The type of pain he did suffer from, for a few years is completely different, and I imagine it’s due to new developments in his body.

I have had an issue with this character for some time... maybe someone here can clear this up. I was first introduced to "Strong Guy" in the first series of Marvel Cards from 1990 (of course he had not yet taken that name). He is featured in one of the X-Men team cards, and on the back of it after a little process of elimination he seems to be called "Sunder". Now, from what I understand, "Sunder" was the name of a Morlock, who was also big and bald like Guido... but the guy on the card has Guido's trademark hair curl... so... WTF?

    • @Gatorade69
      @Gatorade69 10 месяцев назад

Maybe just a mix up. Looking it up : Guido's struggles with picking a codename are used for comic effect in the story, and X-Factor writer Peter David admitted that in real life he had difficulty coming up with a decent codename for the character.
Maybe this factored into it ? Maybe they didn't want to print a card that had a word that some people find offensive as the word Guido was used derogatorily to refer to stupid/macho Italian Americans.

I don't know what they actually called the card set but they had a picture of the character on the front with a colored border around it ( I think most were a sot of yellowish color but there were some others) with a graph of the back showing stats like strength, speed, durability and intelligence with a paragraph underneath. IIRC they would also have a trivial type fact at the very bottom. I never quite got a the full set but came close. My brother and I came across them at the local convenience store one day and bought a pack. Then proceeded to buy more whenever we could. Good times!

He took 1 punch from Red Hulk (who was not trying to hurt Strong Guy) after returning that punch, Red Hulk ended the fight forcing Strong Guy to submit with a Choke Hold.
Juggernaut's stronger than WWH (who nearly killed Strong Guy with 1 punch) and his durability is so high that if Strong Guy hit him back.. it wouldn't even phase Juggernaut.
Thing has taken Strong Guy out in a single punch before.. and Colossus is also too strong and durable for him.
Typically anyone stronger than Spider-Man is going to do too much damage to him, and be able to endure more hits than him.

1: I really hate how he's drawn nowadays where he looks like the average hyper muscular guy. I loved the Top-Heavy thing with him and Savage Dragon because it was how their bodies actually were.
And 2: His Next Media appearance definitely needs to be more than just a cameo and they need some comedian like Pete Holmes, Aziz Azaria, John Mulaney or Katt Williams to voice him

Kind of interesting how this character's face is quite similar to RanXerox.

Working at Wildstorm in the Nineties, I saw an X-Factor page that Scott Williams owned. It was just pencils, and drawn by the regular artist. The page shows the aftermath of Strong Guy sexually relieving himself in the bathroom.

    "A" Strong Guy.
I know it's a small thing.... but fuck dude. Why all the extra articles? The team is "X-Factor" and his name is "Strong Guy".

Juggernaut would destroy him, he can barely handle hulk punches, almost dying, juggernaut hits just as hard and can't tired out.
Also how tf can someone tough enough to handle a punch from the hulk die to a bullet.

Wow, this is some serious revisionist Strong Guy hype... with a clickbait title to boot.. lol
Strong Guy, isn't anywhere near Juggernaut or Hulk or Red Hulk having only fought the Hulks.. nearly dying after 1 blow from Hulk.. and losing to Red Hulk, who started the fight saying he(RH) wouldn't even be fighting him (SG) unless he (RH) had to.
After 1 exchange of punches... and a conversation about why Strong Guy was even there.. Red Hulk says "he sees how this has to go." and forced Strong Guy to submit.
That's it.. Strong Guy dealt 1 blow to each Hulk and then lost. Nearly dying to one, and the other had no intention of hurting him.
Since Juggernaut was stronger than WWH.. and cannot be harmed even if his punches were reflected.. the idea that he would find it tough, is absurd.
Thing have scuffled with him once in Strong Guy's comic.. and it was interrupted before Ben hurt him. In the Rematch, Thing 1 shot Strong Guy.
Strong Guy couldn't beat either Colossus or Thing in a fight.. he's not giving Juggernaut any trouble.
All he has going for him is that he can depending on his opponent, has a much higher potential for damage output. But it's entirely based on his opponent's damage output. Unfortunately for him, most characters can actually take the damage they dish out.
Strong Guy can't, which makes him a very fragile Glass Cannon.. that makes him easy to beat.. but he might get you with a couple good returns before he loses.
