This was a brilliant wild camp Paul.. Done a few with you now mate and not had a bad one!!! Although I have to say I think we were both at our comfort limit on this one!! Just goes to show that being well prepared and expecting the conditions we had as well as taking the right kit is all important.. be safe out there!!! Sorry dinner wasn't quite up to scratch!! 'Do you wanna build a snowman?'
The conditions were great walking up but the night was a tough one Kev. Obviously you being a bit soft went for the tent....great tent though. Thanks for watching and stealing the show. ATB Paul
Paul, I spent the night in a bivi on Kinder last night, it was inside my tent! In fact I never got the video camera out as if was so brutal. Fair play for the bivi outdoors and making the vid, it was nice to watch the end result. I can appreciate what the conditions were like. Regards Wasdale Man
Wasdale Man thank you for the compliment. I nearly gave up on the video bit. I didn't think I'd have enough footage to make it work. Fortunately the walk up was reasonable. I do love it up there but as anywhere like that....I can be unforgiving. thanks for watching and the sub. ATB Paul
Some amazing views on your ascent there Paul. Well done for sticking it out, under a tarp bivi set-up. Nice to see the peak district with it's winter coat on, we both really enjoyed watching. Well deserved 'full monty' in the caff...keep em coming...ATB R&D
Thanks for the kind words Roger. heading up you neck of the woods in a couple of weeks. Maybe catch a bit of snow in the Lakes too. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Awesome video Paul. Fair play buddy for getting out in that weather. That wind looked hardcore. But your set up looked spot on : ) As for the food, I like the idea of the flameless ration heaters... but they never seem to get the food really hot do they. That fry up the next morning looked amazing though : ) Keep em coming buddy. Thank you for taking us along. All the best, Jay
Thanks for watching Jay. It was a little bit hard core. The flameless rations were pretty useless but beggars can't be choosers. The fry up was great but needed a mortgage to pay for it...I guess that's the going rate in Edale :) ATB Paul
A great camp there. I love Edale and the kinder (and the two pubs;-) )I'll be doing a walk that way soon with family, so I'm looking forward to that. atb phil
Brave using a tarp up there in this weather Paul. We did it on bonfire night in tents and it was very windy and cold then! All good fun though! ATB Ash.
Wasn't my ideal choice of location to be honest. I prefer to have natural wind break. The tent needed a bit more space. Made it back alive and warm so happy days. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Some beautiful views there. Can't beat a good fry up to lift spirits. The best camping ready meals that I have found are the look what we found brand. They are about £2 a pop and much better than the £5 wayfarer etc.
Was up on that ground just before christmas, but didn't have an overnighter. We were on an overnighter over on Carl Wark when you shot this video, and got the same rain on the Sunday. Small world. Great video. Liked and subbed.
Thank you Joe...brave or daft? To be fair I had the kit for the conditions. Not the best location for a tarp though but we needed to get Kev's tent pitched. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Love these camps in bad conditions, not enjoyable when in it but I tend to remember them and think of them as a decent adventure compared to the nice weather ones although they're more enjoyable at the time.
Lol that was great. Made me laugh. Been there done that. Cannot beat a can if Princes Curry and some Uncle Bens. Definitely not tarp camp weather but you made it and good experience looking back on it I suppose. I was up Grinsbrook and then off to the right along the tops and back down to Edale earlier in the year 14 miles I think with my 7 yr. old. On a one dayer Good fun up there. ATB from Manchester. Really enjoying your vids, just come across your chanbel. Will have to grt out there more often. Take care
i thought it was a good video paul , just showing everybody how nice it is up there even in bad weather, I would certainly go in snow I think it looks great might try and get up there before January has gone and do one per month at least. ATB Kev
Great vid.. it certainly looked a chilly one. As for the meal it just shows the packaging is so misleading at times. And the price at £8 is shocking. Bet that brekki was less 😁
Nice one mate. Absolutely gorgeous up there with the snow though you looked shattered in the morning! Do you always carry two walking sticks with you for setting up the tarp? Use them much when walking? Also, chopped tinned tomatoes with breakfast?? Grilled all the way!
Jack Wainhouse thanks for watching Jack...you were right....I was rough in the morning. The wind kept me up for most of the night from 3am ish. It was brutal. I carry the poles for both. I used them coming downhill as it helps my knees and gave me stability on the slippery areas. I don't like tomatoes haha....so neither is good for me. They should have fried the mushrooms though.
Paul, one of your best and oldest videos I've seen. Very brave to tackle those conditions in a bivvy and tarp. Legendary!
Watched a fair chunk of your videos, your a nice guy I wish u all the best in life.

Still a great video, love it when the weather is interesting. Would love to see a review on that mat please.
Thanks for watching. A mini review of the mat will be uploaded on midweek. ATB Paul

I love camping but can't begin to imagine what it's like camping in the snow!!
JayBird Aneko Eat the trees.
Burghhh! Looks beautiful up there but a bit chilly!
Great video Paul 👍you where bloody brave doing a tarp and bivvy camp in january and equally as brave eating that beef stroganoff 🤣🤣🤣
Hardcore.
Great video.
Shows it how it can be.👍🏾
A great camp there. I love Edale and the kinder (and the two pubs;-) )I'll be doing a walk that way soon with family, so I'm looking forward to that. atb phil
It's my favourite part of the Peaks. I head up there as often as I can. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Alright Paul. Another great video mate.. really enjoyed the content you put in. All the best and thank you for sharing. Cheers Gary
cheers Gary. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Those self heating meals are absolute. .....
Shame about the weather melting the snow. Awesome camp though.
ATB Mark
What a beautiful area of the UK. I need to go there some time!
A tip : you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Jameson Dexter yup, I have been using flixzone} for since november myself :)
Brave using a tarp up there in this weather Paul. We did it on bonfire night in tents and it was very windy and cold then! All good fun though! ATB Ash.

I use them myself Philip. They are very tasty. This was just something we tried out. Lesson learned :). Thanks for watching. ATB Paul

Hello Andy. I saw the the Carl walk video. Couldn't believe the difference in snow just across my way. Thanks for watching and the sub. ATB Paul
By the way I highly recommend the Banchee. Harsh conditions but was comfortable all night!!!
Cool video lol literally. What tarp was that looked good light setup
Brave camp mate. Love Edale but the weather can be a bugger at times. Glad you got a brew & a good breakfast down you. Atb Joe.
Thank you Joe...brave or daft? To be fair I had the kit for the conditions. Not the best location for a tarp though but we needed to get Kev's tent pitched. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Nice one Paul, weather looked harsh up on top, but you have the right kit and it looked good up there. atb Lee
Cheers Lee. It was a harsh one but in the bivi was warm as toast. The kit did it's job well. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul

Great one Paul,
Snow was good but shame about the rain, cool video.

Brave! I'm definitely not a winter bivvy and tarp kind of guy, but the sleep mat sounds impressive.
The sleep mat was great. There'll be a mini review uploaded this week. Thanks for watching Nigel. ATB Paul
Superb video and really amazed at the relative stability of your tarp... How it survived such winds... Would love to see your tarp pitch....
Top marks for going under a Tarp in those conditions always enjoy your videos
Cheers Jeff. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
I've walked up kinder scout with scouts {we did the extreme route} and I'll tell you it was hard but good to get to the top
It's well worth the effort though.
Which is the extreme route? Wouldn't mind giving it a go!
i thought it was a good video paul , just showing everybody how nice it is up there even in bad weather, I would certainly go in snow I think it looks great might try and get up there before January has gone and do one per month at least. ATB Kev
It shows that camping isn't always straightforward. A good test and glad I did it. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
didn't realise you was from near me paul till you came up on my news feed on facebook about wifi small world
The fact that you would go through all of that for one night is staggering. Well, there IS that full fry at the end, soooooo....
Love the bad weather vids , more please !
Great vid.. it certainly looked a chilly one. As for the meal it just shows the packaging is so misleading at times. And the price at £8 is shocking. Bet that brekki was less 😁
+Wilderness Timmy thanks for watching. The meal wasn't worth 80 pence nevermind £8. Lesson learned though. 😁 ATB Paul
Love the video quality is amazing x
heidi messner Thank you darling x
Excellent, dood.
Good on ya mate. I envey you going up there. My goal is to get up there this year. Cheers.
Sorry for the late reply...seen you since :) Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Paul Messner No worries lol.
It was a great video, and today was so hot, I'm wishing I was there.
Can't beat a good fry up in Cooper's Cafe
It certainly hit the spot. thanks for watching
Brutal weather up there.
Great video, again...
Thanks for watching. All the best...Paul
Inspiring...
Nice video
nice one Paul. your tea wasn't as nice as mine tho...lol
Your tea was definitely better Mark...but I'd rather be on Kinder than in the pub eating...Cough cough. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul

I think I'm going to invest in a pole for tarp camping and like you say the downhill bits when it's a bit treacherous under foot. Was that a 3x3 tarp?
Jack Wainhouse yes mate. it's a DD 3x3 tarp. Hopefully this week I'll have a Rab siltarp 2 to replace it for my lightweight camps. Cheers
Hardcore Expedition Paul, looked like a rough one.
£8 seems a bit steep ? I've stayed in bed and breakfasts for less than that :)
It was pretty tough going. I agree £8 for a bag of puke. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
amazing cool background
It was awesome Brian. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
what sleeping bag was you using.
Alpkit shyhigh 700. Check out my latest video for a review Brian. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
what was the food company called
I don't recall to be honest....the taste still haunts me though haha. Thanks for watching. All the best...Paul
God gave us the darkness, that we may see the stars...
fabulous quote. couldn't agree more. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Poor you. I've had a few camps like that. Grim.
Good vid. Tks
Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Looked like a tough night out up on Kinder, what on earth was that skunk vomit in a bag ?, not very appealing at all :-)
It was a tough night Yorkie....I think skunk vomit would have been a better choice haha. Thanks for watching. ATB Paul
Can you say, "...did absolutely sod all" on RUclips? Hahahaha. Funny.
+Ray it was pretty brutal Ray. A good challenge though. I'm sure there's worse said on RUclips than sod all 😂. Thanks for watching.
That "Stroganoff" was not look Stroganoff at all🤢
