UAW is 100% correct. It’s time to burn this system of corporate greed to the ground. Raise the standard of living for workers and all businesses will benefit. If you don’t believe it, just look at how trickle up economics worked during Covid.
Being a memeber of the UAW was useless for me. I got laid off from Mack Trucks and then have the UAW do next to nothing when I go to my local president repeatedly about getting me back in. I had callback rights and Mack/Volvo violated that contract. I filled out the paperwork for them. The company was legally obligated to call me back in before they hired new people and they didn’t based on the master contract. 3 years later I still have not got a call back to my job. I have spoke to my reps more times than I can count. The best they could do is tell me that the reason I wasn't called back is because some guy that worked at the plant I have never met before called in a bomb threat and got caught with a gun on the premise. The only similarity we had was that he wore a similar style hat (a beanie) to work as me, and he was quiet. I only spoke to my immediate supervisors because they were my friends. I think this was about how much I helped participate in the last strike. I heard they didn’t like it. I always did my job. Had no points. Complained to HR as well. None of that mattered. I was there for almost 2 years. Get me my job back and I'll give a shit about the UAW strike.
Working class will NEVER get ahead the the United States..you have to have At least 2-3 million in the bank at the end of your life to be comfortable…this country is a joke….as long as costs of living continues to out pace wages…doesn’t matter if you work 22 years or 40 years..if you are a working class person you will never get ahead…look into the cost of monthly medical expenses, food, energy..the cost of a car and cost to run it either gas or electric both expensive. In retirement if you don’t have 2-3 million, you will have to spend down all your savings until you only have 2 grand. Then you apply fir state aid and that is a crap shoot if the state can find someone to care for you….the US has lost its way. Profits over people and greed, power…it starts from the top. Look at US Politicians…the “elite”…corporations..they enrich themselves whilst the rest of us struggle..they have pensions for life, healthcare for life..while the rest of the people struggle and become inevitably poor in old age.
Best thing the big three could do now is get rid of the union hire hard working americans pay them a decent wage and move on. Might even be able to lower the price of vehicles.
I support the UAW Strike. I come from a long line of Union Workers. Stay strong and tuff to all UAW Workers.

The message to the customer is we have to pay 40% more for a car and repairs.
