    Its really hard to see the colors in the dirty tubes. Why not squeeze the out onto a white paper so you can see the colors

      You don't need to see the colors if he names them. As an artist, you should be able to see the colors in your mind.

    Better add raw umber , cad yellow lemon and cobalt blue. Much better.

      blue is obtained by addint white to his black, a tinted blue is the result
