Our home was built in 1848 and the wood trim has a rich orange hue. I wouldn't be surprised if it was redone in the last few decades. Agreeable gray is beautiful with it! They complement one another in such a warm, inviting way in our living room! Thank you!

This is one of the most liveable and universally agreeable colors I have discovered to date. I put it throughout our rentals and when prospective tenants see it, they instantly want it. They can envision their furniture with it and it makes a room feel good. I like the trim and ceilings in Alabaster. I do the doors in Wrought Iron and replace all the old shining brass hardware with satin nickel. By the time I finish painting the cabinets and adding solid surface countertops, people want to sign on the spot!

@@marlenedelude4637 to keep it simple, I usually paint the top cabinets Alabaster and the bottom wrought iron, or Gauntlet Grey and do granite counterops in similar colors. I like a darker color on the bottom because they stay "cleaner " looking. I like to use Gauntlet gray in bar areas and bath vanities with pewter or chrome hardware.

I am moving into a beach like condo with amazing south facing natural lighting. The home is outdated, but for now, the reddish hue wood floors and the dark kitchen cabinets have to stay. It has typical kitchen granite (tannish) from approx 15 years ago. High ceilings, etc., but are now painted a beige color that just look yellow. I wanted to go to a grange color, as I want to accent with small amounts of blue for the beach theme. I read that Agreeable Gray will work with the reddish wood floors and dark cabinets. There is a lot of wall space, so I am afraid to make the commitment to any gray type color, although I would like to as it needs updating desperately.

I know that choosing the right colors would make it look bigger and welcoming. I would like to paint my cabinets. Maybe some kind of grey. I purchased quartz countertop. It’s a white tone with some grey. It’s just hard to pick a wall color as well since the kitchen and living room is one big room.

Thank you for all of your explanations about AG. I have tried it on different walls around my house. Most often it's beautiful but in the family room, one high ceiling wall faces west and the AG looks 'fleshy'. Can you suggest a lighter paint color that will lighten up that wall and look great with the remaining walls in AG? I dislike yellow and don't want to look too pink. I love it! I really want to know if you think Agreeable Grey would make a great whole house color and if it goes with Sea Salt and Alabaster? I love those two colors and the light airy feeling I get when I step into the room. Hi Jacob! I watched your video and selected Agreeable Gray for my living room walls. The floors according to your advice were supposed to pair beautifully but I realize that when a room is facing north, any gray turns bluish or shows more purple. I am always disappointed as I never find the perfect gray for my walls. I do not want to spend more money on paint. I love that it makes the room very bright and the ceiling looks higher. At night, with the nice warm lights, it looks like Agreeable Gray but during the day, I find it less neutral.
Hi! I need help😢 we are renovating our kitchen and we thought we had the wall color picked to light pewter (Benjamin Moore) painted a sample area and realized its darkwr then we wanted. Here's the scoop: white top cabinets doors and trim, smoke embers Benjamin Moore bottom cabinets, wood grain floor ( like light/ dark throughout) north facing room not a lot of natural light. Our wall cabinets will be SW Greek Villa and a grayish blue (Designer's Choice Cabinetry Ballard Blue). I'm going with GV for trim and ceiling as well. Our kitchen is in a north facing room with a window, but it will receive a lot of secondary southern light from our dining room and living room, as it's an open living area. I was unsure about pairing AG with our warmer wood furniture (a mix of dark wood and cherry wood), but your video leads me to believe it's a good match! Am I correct in my feelings?
Hi Jacob, I appreciate your videos, Thank you. I bought a 1990 built home in the mountains and the main area of the home we painted in agreeable gray. The home has vaulted ceilings in the foyer witch is in the center of the home, a sitting area/bar area next to that which is in the back of home facing west with two story windows and then my great room with is facing more north. My question is about the sitting/bar area facing west. It looks lime queen at times. When I come down the steps in the foyer I can see the lime green or bright light green on the walls. I had some trees removed( it seemed that the sun was reflecting the green in the leaves on my wall) which helped but its still greenish later in the day when the sun comes through all the windows. I was gonna paint it repose gray but I thought I had better ask for advice first. Thank you in advance for your reply. Rodney

First time finding your channel and I love it! So far this color looks great! I'm trying to add in some light gray/greens like comfort gray or sea salt. I'm stuck though. My trim is 90s oak with an orange undertone. My fireplace is brick with orange undertones mostly (think burnt sienna ish). I really want to brighten the space up but all colors in family/kitchen/and dining room need to coordinate. I love sea salt, but don't think it will look right. Kitchen floor is travertine with brown and very slight blue/ gray undertones.
Just did repose gray for our kitchen. This room transitions to our living room which has wainscoating. Currently Dover white on bottom and gobi beige on top. Would like to also paint fireplace white. Is there a lighter version of agreeable gray? It is a perfect greige in my book, but need something lighter for a small apt we have. Incredible white was suggested as the tone lighter, but it really puts off the red/brown hue, unlike agreeable grey that puts of more of the blue/grey hue. Shoji white was close, but still too red. Depends on your fixed elements. Try Chantilly Lace if you want to be on the safe side.

Hi Peggy, it depends what the paint color undertones are in your other rooms and the type of undertones you have in your warm room.

The floors according to your advice were supposed to pair beautifully but I realize that when a room is facing north, any gray turns bluish or shows more purple. I am always disappointed as I never find the perfect gray for my walls. I do not want to spend more money on paint. I love that it makes the room very bright and the ceiling looks higher. At night, with the nice warm lights, it looks like Agreeable Gray but during the day, I find it less neutral.

Hi! I need help😢 we are renovating our kitchen and we thought we had the wall color picked to light pewter (Benjamin Moore) painted a sample area and realized its darkwr then we wanted. Here's the scoop: white top cabinets doors and trim, smoke embers Benjamin Moore bottom cabinets, wood grain floor ( like light/ dark throughout) north facing room not a lot of natural light. Please help with the wall color...we are going bonkers!! We are wanting a light airy in inviting farmhouse look but not completely white wall. Thank you so much in advance

Hi! Thank you so much for this review of Agreeable Gray. After watching your video, I feel at ease choosing AG as the main color of our home. Our wall cabinets will be SW Greek Villa and a grayish blue (Designer's Choice Cabinetry Ballard Blue). I'm going with GV for trim and ceiling as well. Our kitchen is in a north facing room with a window, but it will receive a lot of secondary southern light from our dining room and living room, as it's an open living area. I was unsure about pairing AG with our warmer wood furniture (a mix of dark wood and cherry wood), but your video leads me to believe it's a good match! Am I correct in my feelings?

Hi Jacob, I appreciate your videos, Thank you. I bought a 1990 built home in the mountains and the main area of the home we painted in agreeable gray. The home has vaulted ceilings in the foyer witch is in the center of the home, a sitting area/bar area next to that which is in the back of home facing west with two story windows and then my great room with is facing more north. My question is about the sitting/bar area facing west. It looks lime queen at times. When I come down the steps in the foyer I can see the lime green or bright light green on the walls. I had some trees removed( it seemed that the sun was reflecting the green in the leaves on my wall) which helped but its still greenish later in the day when the sun comes through all the windows. I was gonna paint it repose gray but I thought I had better ask for advice first. Thank you in advance for your reply. Rodney

First time finding your channel and I love it! So far this color looks great! I'm trying to add in some light gray/greens like comfort gray or sea salt. I'm stuck though. My trim is 90s oak with an orange undertone. My fireplace is brick with orange undertones mostly (think burnt sienna ish). I really want to brighten the space up but all colors in family/kitchen/and dining room need to coordinate. I love sea salt, but don't think it will look right. Kitchen floor is travertine with brown and very slight blue/ gray undertones.
Just did repose gray for our kitchen. This room transitions to our living room which has wainscoating. Currently Dover white on bottom and gobi beige on top. Would like to also paint fireplace white. Is there a lighter version of agreeable gray? It is a perfect greige in my book, but need something lighter for a small apt we have. Incredible white was suggested as the tone lighter, but it really puts off the red/brown hue, unlike agreeable grey that puts of more of the blue/grey hue. Shoji white was close, but still too red. I have dark cherry brown dining room furniture in a dining room with white waincoting and cherry wood window and baseboard trim. I painted my townhouse mindful grey and it looks green to me which bothers me. I painted 2 years ago and think I want to switch to agreeable grey so it is a little more beige. Did you think this is a stupid decision as they are so close?
