Served on a bed of fluffy brown rice it was very easy and very good :D
Made this so many times since your upload. Love how simple it is NOM NOM NOM
I luv pork belly. I discovered it almost 1 yr. ago when cooking an Asian dish. This is so simple and looks delish. I'd fry some cabbage or Chinese broccoli and place under the rice. New subscriber!

i made your receipe, And it was soooooo amazing. i think it is my new addiction. I cooked it for my parents and they loved it
This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing! I always use the handle to transfer the pan in and out of the oven.
Oh my gosh, I don't know why I didn't think of that! Such a good idea!!
Thank you for the recipe, we had this tonight and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. One thing we found though was that it took a lot longer for the sauce to reduce for us than it says in the recipe but it's certainly worth the wait! Highly recommended!
Aw so glad to hear that you enjoyed the recipe! Sorry to hear that it took so long to reduce, I think that sometimes ovens can vary even at the same temperatures! Perhaps next time reduce the water amount to 200ml :)
Mine is in the oven, the smell in my flat is amazing, I can't wait to eat, great recipe, thank you
Just made this tonight to the letter bar adding a cap-full of Shaoxing wine.. absolutely scrummy ;)
Just found this and just followed recipe!!! This is so tasty x

It is by the brand 'Tefal' :D
This looks so delicious i wanna cook it right nowww
Hi, if I don't have an oven what can I use? If I have an oven do I bake or grill?
Oh, wow! I just ate dinner but now I'm hungry again...
Amy is sooo cute, keep up with the fantastic recipes.
We don't have a oven ,can we continue cook boiling
Great recipe. If I substitute the pork belly for something leaner like chicken thigh, would it dry out?
Looks soooooo delicious.
It was yum!! Do try it and let us know what you think! x
mummmmm looks lovely thank you
Love the dishes u present, great job.
I'd love to see, how to cook a delicous spicy sweet-sour-soup.
We looove hot/sweet/sour soup! And in fact we have our favourite family recipe in our book if you are interested :D But yep, great idea for a video, thanks! x
yum yum!! I would like to try ur recipe
Are you kiwis? I have made a couple of different versions of this and this looks like it is worth trying too! Thanks for uploading!
Great recipe. Random question - what is the name of the whistling song in the background? Catchy
I love you guys so much 😍❤️💖
I love your accent! Really tatsy video. :) I'm soo hungry right now.
Looks amazing! Onslaught of questions coming, sorry.
1) Is this in your book as well (have it at home so can't check)?
2) How would you describe the texture of the pork belly? It seems between the frying, the "boiling", and the baking it would make it rather tough.
3) Any vegetables you'd recommend for this? My wife probably wouldn't like it as much without.
No problem, we love questions!
1. No, this recipe isn't in our book. Consider it a YT exclusive! :D
2. The pork belly is both slightly caramelised and sticky (the leaner bits) and also very melt in the mouth (the fattier bits). The reason why the pork isn't tough is because the much of the fat from the belly melts over time, massaging its way into the leaner bits. This is why belly is such an excellent cut for this dish.
3. Some simply stir-fried leafy greens would be a great accompaniment. E.g. start off by sizzling a bit of chopped garlic in some vegetable oil, then add rinsed greens like pak choi, stir-fry til slightly wilted, then season with salt and white pepper to taste (or add a dollop of oyster sauce).
I think I just fell in love ...
Looks really nice but I would have put garlic in it because I like garlic with pretty much everything!
Oh yes garlic would be great in this too!! x
There is, or at least there should be, garlic in the Thai chili sauce. Hope that helps.
looks yummy 😍
q/a for the Hoisin sauce and sweet Chili what brand's ?
Because I could find them at the China town in my area. thank you for your kindness. 😊✌
Oh! I had an afterthought, could you make one of my absolute favorites from the Chinese takeouts which is Chicken in Garlic Sauce? I absolutely LOVE that dish and would like to be able to make it at home
Love you girls!
Delicious
I keep clicking the link and it takes me to your website but the recipe isn’t on there anywhere! Why is it doing this?! I so badly want to make this but can’t find the recipe on your website and you don’t say what the measurements for each ingredient is either 😭
Girls I've made this loads of times and has always been a massive crowd pleaser, today I'm making it and no fat is coming off the pork in the pan, what's happening? Is it going to go really greasy in the oven now?
Where on Earth can I get a great pan like that??? (I'm in the South West US).
In your video, you did not use dark soy sauce but in the recipe there is. Can you please confirm which is correct? Thx
Oh dear! I left out the dark soy video clip during editing! But yes, do add dark soy for extra caramelly flavour - I'll add a note to the video! Thanks for spotting this! x
I thought the third "sauce" was the water lol. Mystery solved!
+Dumpling Sisters Thx for confirming 😊
Seems amazing: What greens would go with this?
Brocco and spring onion
Looks great ladies , if I don't have( or can't get pork belly ) what other cut could I use ?
I think the sauce would taste amazing for pork ribs. Yum!
Absolutely, ribs would be a great choice as Amanda mentioned. I would cook them for slower and at a lower temperature though, as they will need more time to get all juicy and succulent!
Yah thanks !
i actually went to recipe site but could not find this recipe.how much oyster sauce per pork?and can i use chicken wings instead?
I managed to unhook the pan handle off my wok, but am struggling to put it back on? Is there a special technique to it?
The website with the recipe comes up with an error, girls.
I've been thinking about how tofu can mimic the tenderness of the meat part of pork belly with firm amd then the creamy fatty part of pork belly can be replicated using silky tofu. So on the bottom would be firm and nestled on top a slice of silky tofu. I've watched a lot of braised tofu and pork belly videos and I think it would work although the two tofus seem to need to cook differently. Maybe they need to be cooked separately and then assembled at presentation? Anyone have thoughts on this?
By corn flour do you mean corn starch?
I noticed the recipe on your website also calls for dark soy sauce, but this wasn't an ingredient in your video. Can you let us know if dark soy sauce is required or not please?
Yes
btw i made this *again* because it was so good the first time round. but this time using pork shoulder just to make it a tad healthier ;)
I'm doing this recipe right now, and it's been in the oven for almost an hour and the water hasn't dissolved and it looks nothing like the video 😭 I don't know what I done wrong. I doubled the recipe because I was making it for more people .
Are there any alternatives to hoisin sauce that I could use?
Can I ask, why didn't you just leave the pot on the hob to cook? Thanks :)
Hey there! We like to do it in the oven for a couple of reasons: 1. you can literally just leave it in there and go off to do other things (super easy!), and 2. some of the pork will catch a little bit direct heat from the oven, which gives the surface a bit of caramelisation. This also means there's a nice contrast in texture between the supersoft interior of the pork and the sticky outside :)
Where did you get your pan from??
What happened to the dumpling sisters? How come they disappeared
Hi My From Nepal I'm Chinese Chef
Will this work with pork shoulder? :)
Dahan Chung it would be lovely with pork shoulder, but we would recommend longer in the oven (like 2h) to help it get tender as there is less fat than in belly. And add about 50% more water as well!
Tried this recipe tonight. I have yet to actually taste it because I made a bonehead mistake. I used the written recipe on their link and it look to be using customary units a measure (teaspoon,tablespoon...) with the exception of the water. So when I saw preheat oven to 180 decided to stop reading at that moment. Why? I don't know! I missed the word Celsius. I'm waiting and waiting and I'm like WTF??? I recheck the directions and my inner math teacher literally howled into the night. 180 Celsius is about 355 Fahrenheit. Now we wait... lol
I am eating terrible pizza wanting this so bad.
could not find the reipe,pity
Would spare ribs work with this recipe
Didnt work. I followed it perfectly. You use a lot of starch in your video compared to the recipe whats that about ? also i used 200 ml instead of 300 ml water and after 40 minutes in 180° its still just meat in water. It has not gotten sticky and thick at all!
I dont have a pan like that. Can. just pour it all in to a standard oven tray?
Yes for sure, but make sure it has high sides for the sauce - this will stop trying out. Do you have something like a casserole dish? Like this would work well: www.google.co.uk/search?q=casserole+dish&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=608&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiV06Gp8cPPAhUoCsAKHf3kAPoQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=ilp7_CWXHGvJWM%3A
Dumpling Sisters Actually yes. You just reminded me of something that I can use. Thanks heaps! :)
What's with the tongs? Chopsticks are Asian multi-tool. Actually, enjoyed the video, will give this one a try like the use of chili sauce.
What's the make of the pan? I want it!!!
Tefal Ingenio ;)
Any Chance of some spicy Hunan Style Recipes
We shall look into it! :D
Is the rice portion enuf ?
Hey there! The portion we have in our video and on our website is for illustrative purposes only - for the amount of pork that the recipe makes, you should make enough rice for four people :)
That pan, where did you find it?!
They are from Tefal , i've had the same ones for ages so I don't know if they still make them, but you can check :)
Yep, as Cristina said, they're good ol' Tefal! Really fantastic and versatile!
You girls are too cute :)
Cheers for the vid im gonna give it a crack tomorrow...Do i hear a kiwi accent?
Ta x
this is a great recipe! although i feel like there's no point to frying the pork if you're going to braise it afterwards
Thanks! We fry it off first because the caramelised crust adds wonderful flavour to the sauce :)
and the seasoned cornstarch will double as a thickening agent during the braising process for the pan sauce.
I was just about to say... 😂 How can you not fry it first?? It gives so much more flavour to the dish!!
Asian girl says "give it a good toss".Now I've got a sticky belly!
Noice
I wanna marry one of them
