I hope we can have diplomacy with the Synthetic Queen maybe even become her vassal. That would be a cool addition to the game, an emergent force that can take over as the Galactic Custodian.
Could the Queen not use Ultima Viglis as the entry point ? She says something about having returned in the trailer so maybe she is an intergalactic entity and keeps an eye on many Galaxies biding her time until the right moment like when most of the galaxy is full of sapient life to take care of
I hope this Cosmic Storms expansion will add the option to choose which Precursor you get. I hate having to restart until I get the Precursor that will fit with my empire. That would be the prefect time for them to add it. Also I like the idea of the Synthetic Queen crisis. I played a game as a Evil Rogue Servitor collected five pops from every species in the galaxy, housed them on a Utopian Ringworld and then genocides the rest and she kind of reminds me of that. Tbh the worst part for me is the fact that the game now shows you the content you didn't pay for when you play, it makes it harder for me to introduce Stellaris to friends. Base Stellaris is fun provided you don't know what you are missing out on
I really like the idea of a hive mind in the grand archive. I've always liked the idea of a "true zerg" race in stellaris. A devouring swarm that corrupts the life in the universe, and uses it to destroy their enemies while spreading endlessly. So far we have a couple civics around this idea, but they are grossly limited to only allowing a small fleet every 5 years, on 3 systems in the galaxy that are randomly placed. Sometimes in horribly inconvenient places. This plus machine age are amazing additions to the game. I hope the next DLC chain targets hive minds in much the same way and explores some new ideas too involving genetic evolution, or maybe psionic hives too.
Really hoping Lithoids can capture and engineer the Crystal Fauna. Also if space Fauna take food to grow then that makes farmers more powerful. Likewise if the Space Crystal's are mineral based it gives a alternate to become the crisis mineral ships.
the way they make these introduction videos for DLC i kinda want whoever is behind it all, the writers and programmers / animators, to make a longer video, if not a full feature length film, maybe a couple 30 minute or hour long stories. especially if they actually made a full story video for the new precursors, or maybe just for some random in game empire.. anyway, appreciate the video, informative info on the upcoming stuff for stellaris without wasting our time. 👍 really support you on the humble bundle partnership, but i've had a membership to that for years now... it's actually how i got into stellaris i believe, i know i got multiple DLC from them in a bundle way way back, when there was like 6 DLC.
with them adding the grand archive all we need now is a way to reliably steal relics from other empires so we xan finally have the definitive Trazyn the Infinite experience
Void worms plagues? Were there a voidling thing that embedded itself in almost all planets? Imagine if this plague actually can result into them all hatching eveywhere
Back when they sent that survey out requesting ideas for new things, I asked for Space Cowboys that could hunt down, breed, or farm space fauna in pens attached to starbases. Im hoping the nee space fauna has some western themes in it.
I can't remember the last time i've been this excited for a DLC. I almost always wind up playing as synthetics and machines so getting some TLC is fantastic!!! only downside... it releases the same day my new school semester starts, so I will have to contain my excitement and wait till the weekend for a binge.
With references to time travel, I suspect that Cosmogenesis will be the player-crisis traveling back to influence the creation of the galaxy and shape it in their image.
- Cosmic Storm: A old suggestion of mine was a "Nebula Start" origin. A species whose homeworld (and naturally habitable planets) are in a nebula. And who are distrustful of the "outside world". Maybe they even have the ability to make nebulas around their colonies. I would say it was heavily influenced by the sensor changes that nebulas bring. And the Krikkit from hitchhikers guide. - Voidworm Plague: I am guessing it is more like a "Rat Plague" or "Plague of locusts". Where the voidworms are the plague. - Synthethic Queen Those were disolved by/into Nanites. Like the swarm they were firing on. Also, looks like someone is introducing that Fallen Empire to the "Worf effect". I would guess that is the materialist FE, specifically. Likely her cerators. That guy was probably the only living creature in the fleet.
Unlocked from Day 1: Rick The Cube art portrait An exclusive portrait for your species so you can play as the most enigmatic species in the galaxy. Right now, you don't need to by Season 8 to get Rick The Cube. If you ask me "how" then I can tell you that, I was on my way to buy Season 8, when sudenly there is no option to buy and the Rick goes to his free "DLC". Don't ask me, how this happen - I want to know this too
Non-combat crisis is a true dream. In the last years and hundreds of played games there a were only a few where i didnt take supremacy - because everything comes to space battle in the end.
This cosmic storms remind me of a SF-book i read ago very long time ... "The Engines of God", there were storms, that attacked all stuff, that hadnt an organic shape/form and they travel around the Galaxy like the pointer of a clock and there are multiple of them.
11:25 ...So they're implementing an expanded version of the Big V.A.T. as well? Neat. 21:30 I wonder if ACOT will have to rewrite stuff or if the crisis plays ball with the origin of their Delphic AI.
And I thought the reasony why the cube is called Rick is because of Rick Rolling regarding as an April Fools joke. At least I have a good reason to name my leader Stanley Cuberick
Hyped! I love the roadmap and knowing what cool stuff is coming this whole year. 😻 I don't always buy season passes in any game, but when i do it's because i save 20%. 💰
21:00 That cloud is nanotech cloud, and its so advanced that even fallen empire tech cant do anything about it, it absorted theyr whole attack beam energy and it was also nanomachines what turned theyr ships to the dust.
I kind of liked the v1 Machine Uprising where your Empire got destabilized first and you had options on how to deal with it, if only they had done a bit better job in how to manage scale the actual planetary uprisings.
I've always been looking for a crisis similar to the blocats, something that's not an instant hard counter shoot it first sight, I even tried (and failed miserably) creating a mod for that. Depending on how this new crisis works, it's a instant buy from me
Oh hells to the yes Grand Archive. I fucking love Fruitful Partnership and cordiceptic drones. One of my favorite way to play the game. Give me my fleet of leviathans (that are not reanimated Tithyanki)! That aside i hope the specimen collection becomes something my science ships are gonna be essential too as they get alot less usefull and interesting in the late game after all your anomalies and digs are done.
The DLC being released in passes like this already happens on the console edition. I try to take advantage of them whenever I get the chance, so it seems like a good idea to pass along to the PC version
I'm with you on Storms. They worry me. Very RNG sounding on the surface. But I love the idea of new Precursors (Arcs?). Definitely worries me a lot. And becomes only the second feature I fear I might want to not use (along with federations and the Gal-council sometimes... I just love too many of the other things that come with those DLC!)
2 new precursors - yeah, I like that :) I love the story pieces in Stellaris, the exploration, the "what came before" and stuff like that. I'll buy those DLCs so I guess the Season Pass will probably be worth it. The first season pass I have ever bought for any game - and I started playing in the 90th...
28 swiss franks up from 20, so no for me it is an increase of quite a bit. They not only want me to pay disproportionally more compared to others they also wanna get a stronger currency to boot for it. No can do Paradox. Or rather I can but I wont
I like the idea of this expansion, I like the idea of Matrix-ing my empire, but $25 seems really expensive compared to historical expansion prices or even the base game.
"Hey, we're releasing a ton of tiny DLC for the same full price as a normal one. Will you buy our pass yet?" Both Grand Archives and Cosmic Storms, 2 years ago, would have been small pieces of a much larger DLC. The problem is, they cost the same as those.
@@MontuPlays Species packs each had at least 1 origin and civic, and those civics often created entire new playstyles, or gave you a new angle on existing ones. Aquatics made Inward Perfection at least playable (RIP), humanoids gave us Artificers (RIP) "content" doesn't matter if it's 98% fluff, so overall size isn't really the metric I'd use. Impact on the game as an average is the metric I'd look at. The storms? Might be interesting sometimes, but an entire DLC for a feature you're probably going to only want in 1/4 of your games? Honestly Grand Archives, as described, also rather sounds like a megastructure they decided to build a DLC around. What could have (and probably should have) been one of many features in another DLC, they just said "Build everything around this megastructure." Sure, a cool thing to pull out every now and again, but not often. With other DLC's, there were still things you could use even if you didn't hardline that playstyle. With Grand Archives, you're either Pokemon Empire or you're not, given how it's explained in the trailers and the paid content creator videos. Sure, they fluffed up the download size, but let's be real, pretty much everything that's been announced since the pass has been tiny fragments of fun, surrounded by fat piles of filler so it doesn't look like you're being sold a crumb for a tenner.

Tbh the worst part for me is the fact that the game now shows you the content you didn't pay for when you play, it makes it harder for me to introduce Stellaris to friends. Base Stellaris is fun provided you don't know what you are missing out on
@@derpidius6306you mean with these rifts?
Indeed its painful…for my wallet
Yo ho ho and a ZIP file of rum
Adding audio to the text is a good addition especially for important events like the mid or late game crisis
I actually really like basically everything about this dev diary. Well done Paradox.
I am most excited about the possibility of mods properly adding new endgame crisises
So now I can capture tiryaki and modify them this looks sick with my fruitful partnership empire and I can roleplay even more with it.
Why is it always the same price In euros and dollars when a euro is worth more?
Paradox interactive clearly hates the British
Because euros have more money. It's always been like that.
@@IapitusMcHeimerAs they should.
@@IapitusMcHeimerthe British use pounds
Because they can. You got money, they want it.
Really hoping Lithoids can capture and engineer the Crystal Fauna.
Also if space Fauna take food to grow then that makes farmers more powerful. Likewise if the Space Crystal's are mineral based it gives a alternate to become the crisis mineral ships.
May 7 have been carved into the desk as of now :)
Synthetic Dawn 2 looks nice!
the way they make these introduction videos for DLC i kinda want whoever is behind it all, the writers and programmers / animators, to make a longer video, if not a full feature length film, maybe a couple 30 minute or hour long stories.
especially if they actually made a full story video for the new precursors, or maybe just for some random in game empire..
anyway, appreciate the video, informative info on the upcoming stuff for stellaris without wasting our time. 👍
really support you on the humble bundle partnership, but i've had a membership to that for years now... it's actually how i got into stellaris i believe, i know i got multiple DLC from them in a bundle way way back, when there was like 6 DLC.
omg, the queen looks like mechanical Kerrigan!
We could buy a single portrait before this
The special edition or whatever contains a spider portrait (alongside music and other stuff, I think?)
Anno Style Season passes are welcome.
with them adding the grand archive all we need now is a way to reliably steal relics from other empires so we xan finally have the definitive Trazyn the Infinite experience
The archive is literally a halo precursor megastructure
Void worms plagues? Were there a voidling thing that embedded itself in almost all planets? Imagine if this plague actually can result into them all hatching eveywhere
Love the vids man thanks for the info
Thanks for your support!
Galactic Storm number 4: Forcefully apply Xeno-compatibility to the pops within the system this storm hits. Truly wreaking havoc across the galaxy.
Imagine the player crisis spawning in at the game start/an old save and just changing everything
I haven't played Stellaris for a long time. What I hear sounds VERY interesting. I will surely take a closer look!
The design of the synthetic Queen's ship is like a combination of Forerunner warrior servent architecture and molluscoid
I wish they would give us more cosmetics with the machine dlc, more portraits, machine ship types etc.
- Cosmic Storm:
A old suggestion of mine was a "Nebula Start" origin.
- Voidworm Plague:
I am guessing it is more like a "Rat Plague" or "Plague of locusts". Where the voidworms are the plague.
- Synthethic Queen
Those were disolved by/into Nanites. Like the swarm they were firing on.
Also, looks like someone is introducing that Fallen Empire to the "Worf effect".
I would guess that is the materialist FE, specifically. Likely her cerators. That guy was probably the only living creature in the fleet.
Alternatively, some madmen in the spiritualist fallen empire tried to create their god and got this as a result.
@@elysiankentarchy1531 They would probably not build their gods.
If you can prove it exists, the deity loses all its value.
Unlocked from Day 1: Rick The Cube art portrait
An exclusive portrait for your species so you can play as the most enigmatic species in the galaxy. As with all species portraits in Stellaris, three different variants (phenotypes) and custom animations are included. You will be able to select this portrait in your empire building skin before starting a new game session.
Instant, exclusive access when you purchase the Expansion Pass
*This content may be made available for individual purchase at a later date.
(so we will have to pay for a portrait? unless we buy the season 8)
Right now, you don't need to by Season 8 to get Rick The Cube. If you ask me "how" then I can tell you that, I was on my way to buy Season 8, when sudenly there is no option to buy and the Rick goes to his free "DLC".
Don't ask me, how this happen - I want to know this too
I doesn’t work anymore, at least not for me.
Non-combat crisis is a true dream. In the last years and hundreds of played games there a were only a few where i didnt take supremacy - because everything comes to space battle in the end.
this might genuienly be the first season pass I buy. gosh the stelalris team knows how to do good work.
This cosmic storms remind me of a SF-book i read ago very long time ... "The Engines of God", there were storms, that attacked all stuff, that hadnt an organic shape/form and they travel around the Galaxy like the pointer of a clock and there are multiple of them.
10:30 might be what they did with SoaSE. They had meteors and electrical storms pass though systems.
I think the cloud surrounding the Queen is composed of nanites, and they dismantle and digitize the ships..
11:25 ...So they're implementing an expanded version of the Big V.A.T. as well? Neat.
21:30 I wonder if ACOT will have to rewrite stuff or if the crisis plays ball with the origin of their Delphic AI.
The 2nd was my exact thought as well. With more FE lore it will be interesting to see if and how ACOT plays with it.
And I thought the reasony why the cube is called Rick is because of Rick Rolling regarding as an April Fools joke. At least I have a good reason to name my leader Stanley Cuberick
The Mid-game crisis Voidworm Plague could be a plague of Voidworms overwhelming everything.
Hyped! I love the roadmap and knowing what cool stuff is coming this whole year. 😻
I don't always buy season passes in any game, but when i do it's because i save 20%. 💰
21:00 That cloud is nanotech cloud, and its so advanced that even fallen empire tech cant do anything about it, it absorted theyr whole attack beam energy and it was also nanomachines what turned theyr ships to the dust.
as a rouge servitor main i absolutely love the idea of my empire conceptually clashing against this "Synthetic Queen"
Season 8 instantly bought !
YOU CANT STOP THE CUBE ! ! !
I kind of liked the v1 Machine Uprising where your Empire got destabilized first and you had options on how to deal with it, if only they had done a bit better job in how to manage scale the actual planetary uprisings.
To be honest, I don't care about the DLC's at the moment. I want a performance patch for late game in large galaxies. otherwise cool stuff
I've always been looking for a crisis similar to the blocats, something that's not an instant hard counter shoot it first sight, I even tried (and failed miserably) creating a mod for that.
Depending on how this new crisis works, it's a instant buy from me
Nice to have non-hivemind machine starts. Now I just need the option to have pops live on spaceships so I can roleplay as the Culture
Given that we can have multiple crises in one galaxy, I'd love to see some custom interactions. Player included.
Very Enjoyable video, keep up the good work (been watching your channel for more than 2 years?!)
Wow, thanks! Glad you're still enjoying the videos!
This is the first time I was able to predict your like button meme before you said it hehe
Well done haha
Remember when there concerns that Paradox was going to stop making new content for Stellaris?
Adjust space fauna? "Happy cordaceptic drones noises"
Lowkey even more excited for the Grand Archive than the Machine Age and I was pumped for that!
I'm guessing the cosmogenesis crisis thing might also be known as "Become the Reapers".
"Plague" is not necesary an illness, my first thought was more like "plague of locust"
Hmm... Would love to have Rogue Servitors interact with that crisis, would be fun to observe :D
Void worms plague: *appears*
My empire which regularly uses the Javorian pox orbital bombardment: "Pathetic."
2 new precursors - yeah, I like that :)
I love the story pieces in Stellaris, the exploration, the "what came before" and stuff like that.
I'll buy those DLCs so I guess the Season Pass will probably be worth it. The first season pass I have ever bought for any game - and I started playing in the 90th...
I actually am excited about the grand archive. It sounds like a further expansion upon my own neurosis: building as many megastructures as possible.
Excited for the space fauna to get fleshed out. Cortyceptic drones is a ton of fun, it'll be awesome to have a Shai-Halud tier space fleet
28 swiss franks up from 20, so no for me it is an increase of quite a bit. They not only want me to pay disproportionally more compared to others they also wanna get a stronger currency to boot for it. No can do Paradox. Or rather I can but I wont
The synthetic queen looks like Jenova from FF 7
Can’t wait to not spend any money on this :)
The tutorial bot! It's taking its revenge!
The Grand Archive kind of has the Vibe to be an interstellar Zoo...creepy if you ask me.
We need a dlc that allow you to custome your ground troops to a certqin extend in a new dlc i think.
Are we sure? They seem a similar size to ancient relics at release, and definitely bigger than the $10 species packs right?
@@MontuPlays Species packs each had at least 1 origin and civic, and those civics often created entire new playstyles, or gave you a new angle on existing ones. Aquatics made Inward Perfection at least playable (RIP), humanoids gave us Artificers (RIP)
"content" doesn't matter if it's 98% fluff, so overall size isn't really the metric I'd use.
